Burnt Rubber Update Released - 'Split screen serenity'
Hello everyone!
I know it’s been a while but here we are, back with another update. This time however, it is a big step forward for the game. We are introducing local split screen multiplayer! Split screen multiplayer will allow up to 4 players.
Over the next month we want to gather feedback about this new game mode, as well as explore what our next goal will be. We have had suggestions around level builders and sharing, so we will start to look into what is most achievable, and what will give greater value to our users. Expect to be kept in the loop however!

August Update
Hi all,
This month we bring some fixes and some news. We are currently testing split screen multiplayer on our alpha branch and expect this to be available to players within a few months. After that we will be looking into implementing online multiplayer and what that would involve.
Bug fixes
Fixed issue with Lightning Speedway achievement
Fixed issue with Blue time achievement on Rubber Stadium not triggering
Fixed Reference times on the end screen being lost when "Next Track" button is clicked
Fixed issue where display mode setting wasn't saved
Fixed issue where analytics setting wasn't saved
Fixed issue where motion blur option wasn't saved
Fixed issue where the "High on Fumes" achievement was stuck at 599
Features
Added 'Alternative' control scheme which switches the functions of WASD and the arrow keys. This can be found in options menu under 'Control Scheme'. We will be adding another alternative scheme for AZERTY next month, sorry for any inconvenience.
There is much to look forward in the coming months. Please keep giving us feedback on what we can improve. A lot of these fixes and planned are from invaluable community feedback, so please keep it up!

Burnt Rubber Update Released - 'Let the beat drop'
Hello again,
A small one this month. As we are focusing on at least one BIG feature in the coming months, it has been up to me to provide some content for our releases!
I have produced two new music tracks which have been added to the game in this release titled 'Let the beat drop'.
A quick note to mention we are participating in the Steam summer sales. Burnt Rubber is now 60% off! That's right, the game can be had for as little as US$2!

Burnt Rubber Phase 6 Released - 'Spring Cleaning'
Hello once again,
It is that time of the month. We released phase 6 of Burnt Rubber late last week!
This update brings some polish to all stages and visual effects for the environment.
Patch Notes:
Improved lighting and shadows on various track elements
Improved tyre tracks
Added stage specific colouring to stage select buttons as well as the stage environment
Added sound effect for finishing the track
Polished tracks

Burnt Rubber Phase 5 Release - "Velocity Valley"
Hey everyone,
Today we have released our Phase 5 Update which includes a new stage, and some other goodies to add to the games experience.
Release notes for Phase 5:
- Added new stage "Midnight Underground" with 10 tracks
- Added new obstacle, the "Attractor", which pulls the car left or right
- Added tyre skid marks when drifting
- Added motion blur effect when driving at high speed
General fixes
- Fixed issue where the car would clip through curved glass elements when travelling at higher speeds.
- Improved the look of the stage select buttons
- Improved the hover and pressed state of all buttons to add the same "pixelized" effect that warning signs do
- Increased volume for Tracer music track by 50%
Our next phase will be focused on an entire end to end polish on tracks and implementing any feedback.

Phase 4 Release
Hi all!
We have released our phase 4 update for April. We have had to push stage 6 back by 1 month to accommodate for new mechanics and hazards, so stay tuned.
For phase 4 we have released general bugfixes, update our 'ghost platforms' and added some sweet post-processing effects for when you are going fast down those straights.
Patch notes:
- Improved versions of the Ghost Platforms sounds have been added
- Improved the hitboxes of pipes
- Added sound effect for ghost platforms
- The engine sound has been made slightly louder
- Post-processing effects have been made "speed-aware". Certain effects like motion blur and chromatic aberration will become more apparent as the car's speed gets higher.

Velocity Update hotfix
Hi All,
We just released a hotfix patch with the following
An improved, more optimized version of Crosseye
Updated the track screenshots to reflect the new Ghost platforms
Fix for an audio bug whereby the music volume would be at the maximum level during the intro splash screen before resetting to the correct value once the main menu was loaded.

Burnt Rubber Phase 3 Release: Velocity
It's release week!
We have been working hard for the past month and today we are releasing our phase 3 update: Velocity!
We hope you enjoy the new content and quality of life fixes brought to you by this update. As always, if you are having any issues or have any feedback please post on the steam forum and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
New content included in this update:
- A new stage "Velocity Valley" containing 10 new tracks
- A new challenge: Moving Obstacles. These obstacles bring a whole new level of challenge to the table.
- Leaderboards for all 50 existing tracks (steam only for now, will be put in-game at a later date)
- Ghost Platforms (to replace Moving Platforms)
General fixes:
- The edge warning for cylindrical elements now also shows on the outside of the tube.
- In the menu that appears at the end of a track, hovering over the "Next Track" button will show the name of the next track
- UI Icons for bollards & tilting elements now show at the top of the screen so as not to block the view of what is directly in front of the car.
- Amount of concurrent sounds reduced for bollards and tilting platforms to minimise sound distortion
Other notes:
- The taskbar & window now have the Burnt Rubber logo as icons
- A credits screen has been added to the main menu.
- Changes to UI framework
