Celebrating Bus Driver Simulator 2019's second birthday!
Today is the birthday of our game, because two years ago our game appeared in Steam Early Access and became available to everyone.
A lot of things were done over the past two years.
Content
A lot of content and functionality was implemented, especially if we try to compare today's version and initial Early Access Build. A big number of new buses, liveries and upgrades were added, as well as Career Mode with petrol stations and garages. Dynamic day/night cycle and weather now can influence on number of passengers and cars on roads. Thanks to new map and mini-map, it's now much easier to navigate, and driving is more enjoyable with radio. Finally, recently a possibility to change season allowed us to look at the familiar city from a new side.
Cities and routes
Of course, there are quantitative changes as well. The original city (Serpukhov, Russia) was expanded and another city (Cologne, Germany) was added and recently expanded. A number of various bus stops and routes has increased, a new passengers have appeared. Players have much more possibilities now.
Graphics
We've dramatically changed (almost made from scratch) nearly all the textures and models of buildings, roads, cars, road signs. Lighting has been reworked as well, so graphics level now is at least two times better than it was two years ago.
Optimization
Performance was increased too even when graphics became better. Now it loads faster, consumes less resources, so there are more PCs which support it. Now it can maintain stable 40FPS on Ultra Settings even on obsolete 5 years old PCs.
Controllers
One of the most difficult tasks was to make a steering wheel work independently of its configuration, manufacturer etc. Also, we added presets for various steering wheel and made settings flexible, so that you could choose your preset and start playing right away. The most important and difficult problem here is Force Feedback support. Players asked us to implement it since it was released in Early Access and we managed to do it.
Other cars on roads
Traffic cars were made from scratch, starting from models and finishing with their AI, which allowed them to accelerate and brake smoother, yield the road when necessary and behave more realistic in general. We think that almost none of you remember when cars drove at 20 km/h, jumped and swerved off the road like every minute right? :)
Pedestrians
We've added pedestrians on the streets of both cities, and it made them much more alive. They can cross the road and avoid obstacles, so that the game is more realistic.
Localisations
The game is now translated into 13 languages which allowed a lot of people from different countries to join our community.
All of this became possible because of you and your support. Your feedback and moral support helped us not to lose faith in the project. It allowed us to continue working and implement these features no matter what.
We made almost everything we wanted, and now we're even more self-confident. Of course, more updates are waiting for you, and we're already working on them to make Bus Driver Simulator 2019 even better.
On video below you can see how much the current version differs from initial one.

Some adjustments to collision systems were made.
Passengers
Improved positioning of the passengers. Now their position in the bus is more accurate.
Passengers now enter the bus better.
Another (but not final) upgrade of passengers' navigation after exiting the bus.
Maps and environment

Other minor changes.

Concluding this year
KishMish Games wishes you happy New Year and Merry Christmas! This year has been very interesting for us. There were lots of important updates, releases, conferences. Here are the most important events in chronological order:
1) Metro Simulator 2019 released in Early Access.
Alpha was finally released in Early Access, despise many technical issues (the main reason here is big map). We had some concerns as the genre is quite rare because there aren't so many Metro fans. We're grateful to our community for supporting us. We couldn't do it without you. Unfortunately, the big update featuring AI-controlled trains, passenger mode and map expansion (8 more stations) is being delayed. We aren't ready to announce the exact release date, but it's almost ready. There aren't many people working on the game, but they love what they are doing. Now we have precisely recreated Metro line with all the slopes and turns. When we drove from Rasskazovka to Ramenki, it took us 20 minutes, the exact same time it should take in reality!
2) Bus World announcement
We've had this idea for a long time, but we had to get Bus Driver Simulator into good state. The main difference is an idea to combine a bus simulator with difficult conditions such as disasters, off-road driving, breakdowns etc. There will be more scenarios with various conditions. But it doesn't mean that there will be no Free Mode. We already have some experience in recreating real places, and now we're planning our biggest map - Chernobyl. We are going to make more posts about Bus World in 2020.
3) Bus Driver Simulator 2019 released
Finally, after 3 years of development, Bus Driver Simulator 2019 was released! This project has been very important for us. But we're still planning to support it after release. An update featuring winter mode was released recently. Also, an update which will allow you to create custom routes, is planned for the beginning of 2020.
This year has been very productive. We've done a lot of things, but there's even more to be done in the next year.
Finally, we want to thank you, our players for supporting us, proposing new ides, sharing your minds and expectations. We hope that this year will bring your best dreams to life.
New DLC coming soon!
Tourist DLC which adds a new tourist bus is coming in January!
We’re planning to add a lot of upgrades and paintings (you can see it on the screenshots below).
One of the paintings is dedicated to Moscow Olympic Games which took place in 1980.
Update 5.1 released
Update 5.1 is here!
We have fixed some small, but pretty important things:
Fixed problem with passengers unable to enter one of the buses;
Fixed passengers' position inside of modern Russian bus;
Added Manual gearbox checkbox for Tutorial mode;
Added possibility to create your own livery for big European bus;
Fixed bus in 2nd Cologne Scenario, which made it impossible to finish this Scenario successfully.

Steering wheels, Buses, Controls
- Fixed problem with mechanical gearbox on steering wheels. - Now buses have different amount of gears. It corresponds to the one in real life. - Fixed bug when free camera placed behind the bus could lift itself up. - Added Preview SimTools support. Bus Driver Simulator 2019 is going to be released on 4 December, 2019
The game will be released on 4 December!
We've been trying to finish working on it this month, but we are experiencing difficulties with fixing some bugs. We decided not to release unfinished versions.
Cologne will be expanded almost by 2 times and you will be able to play on Cologne in Career mode! Also, we fixed some problems with traffic and passengers (especially this annoying bug when they couldn't enter the bus), problem with mechanical gearbox with steering wheels, and many other improvements and fixes.
We won't drop support of Bus Driver Simulator 2019 after release. Several pretty serious changes are already planned. We will announce them later.
