2024 QoL Patch
Hello everyone. The freeware vr mega hit Cactus Cowboy - Plants At War just received a QoL update on all platforms. With this update, I've been trying to lower the friction for new vr players to get into this series. Plants At War is not exactly the easiest VR shooter out there but due to its low price tag of $0 lots of vr players might ruin their first experience with due to it. Since I finally figured out how the math behind a virtual gunstock works, there is no reason not bringing this and some Desert Warfare features back to Plants At War!
Without much further talk here are the patch notes:
Add: Crouch button + better seated mode Add: Virtual Gunstock option (default enabled) Add: Walk sounds Add: Desert Warfare posters in Intro room Fix: Movement felt choppy at times causing motion sickness Fix: Players could easily glitch through walls Fix: Lev00 - C-Day: Music restarted on grabbing the start weapons Fix: Lev00 - C-Day: Lesser Enemies spawning Fix: Lev00 - C-Day: Flak Cannon only requires one mortar shell Fix: Lev01 more startup ammo for M1 gun Fix: Lev10 - Sniper part made easier by spawning less aggressive enemies Fix: Lev 14+15 car ride now beatable in hard mode
PCVR Fix: Now compatible with Virtual Desktops VDXR runtime
If you enjoyed Plants At War, you might want to take a peek at the all new Cactus Cowboy - Desert Warfare. Future Outlook on the game series: A new Cactus Cowboy game is planned.

Cactus VR Studios Keynote

Trigger button anyone?
I read every feedback and what seems to bother people the most that you have to use the grip buttons to pull sliders back on guns. Especially those Index controllers seem to have issues with that. Hence, I added the option "Trigger Reload" to the hand and main menu. Goes without saying that this setting can be changed at any time during the game and saves.
Cactus Cowboy Plants At War is now live!
Hello everyone,
My lastest game now made it to Steam and I welcome every new and old fans of my VR Series. As a minor first day patch, I made some little changes to the recoil system, so it behaves exactly like the Quest version which makes it a bit easier to aim. If you love Cactus Cowboy don't forget to water your local Cactus at least once in a while!
