Some complications..

Hi guys!

We had some issues while calculating lighting (which takes ages on my computer anyway) and the engine crashed a lot.
After further investigation an upgrade to Unreal engine 4.17 seems to have sorted the problem!

3 days lost, but we are going forward!

v0.2.5 update coming and new path for Caelum

Hi guys!

v0.2.5 will be out soon bringing a whole new mechanic for puzzles and a new (hopefully) exciting ending for the first leve.

I have also increased the grab radius on the controller so it's easier to grab stuff.

The Ring Door Puzzle has been tightened up and the lever pops back into place to stop the rotation when you let go.

Collision issues have been fixed where I've found them.

New area with the new mechanic is coming with this update!


As for the future of Caelum:

We are still trying to get a publisher on boart to speed up development by turning it full time. This will immensely increase production speed and hopefully the production value of Caelum!

Originally Caelum was meant to be this story driven exploration experience, but at the minute there is just not enough time to be put into proper lore and story design.

Combat in VR is really fun, and when I added the robot it became clear that we need more of this!

I'm still not set on how I want to do the combat, but exploding potions sond fun to do.

v0.2.4 Update notes and what to look forward to in v0.2.5



Hi there lovely people

Got some new updates through last week, but forgot to tell you about it..

-Fixed Collision in mines
-Added Bot as new mechanic (still has bugs but i'm on it)


For v0.2.5 i've been working on a new mechanic and a new puzzle area on the first island!

There's also sounds coming for the starter/menu island so keep an ear out for the wind and birdies. I want to add some more stuff to play with on the starter/menu island, any suggestions are welcome!

Roadmap draft and game UPDATE

Hi guys!

I hope you are excited for the new content that is coming soon, if not you will by the end of this announcement.

We are hard at work revamping the first island, getting new things in there and patching some issues.

We have akso started work in the second island and it's going to be Egypt themed! You'll be exploring an ancient tomb of an egyptian alchemist solving puzzles using the Shard you found at the end of the first island.

We are also building a new Hub island where you start the game and pick a level!

The third island is still a bit of time away, but we would like to know what places you want to see for the coming islands!

Changes with the new update include, but not limited to:

-revamped visuals in the mine area and the library
-ugly building on hill changed for ruins
-optimised lighting
-major performance increase (!)

V0.2.2.2 update

Small list of changes for today people!

In this patch I changed:

-the treasure chest model for a more presentable one
-fixed the symbol puzzle lever, so it can no longer penetrate the pedestal
- added lightshafts to certain lights

We have come to our first milestone together, as of version v0.2.21 you all can enjoy Caelum's first level in Early access!

We are going to push updates as frequently as possible so that the game can leave the safe harbours of Early Access and make its way to glory and fame!
