In today’s update we’ve adjusted the UI and fixed a few bugs.
In the menus we removed the “Extra Units” filter from the games list filter options. The option no longer had any functionality, as all units are available in every game.
We fixed a bug that caused the wrong icon and hp to be displayed for naval units that were split off from an army that contained ground units. Further, coalition flags will now be saved correctly, even if no changes to the flag are made. And finally, on mobile devices we fixed an issue in the advisor window that prevented completed tasks from getting cleared off the list after selecting the “Collect all rewards” buttons.

Release Notes - 2022-09-27
Attention, General!
Today's update brings adjustments to city names and icons on the map, and fixes a few bugs in the game.
The backgrounds for city names and icons on the maps are more transparent and were resized to be less of a distraction.
Among the bugs that got fixed with the release was an issue that made the AI downgrade the relations with members of its coalition when taking over for an inactive player. Now the AI will never downgrade relations with coalition members.

CoW 2.0 - Part Two
CoW 2.0 - Part Two
Attention, General!
The long wait is over! Finally the brand new CoW 2.0 map textures are here! We have redesigned all of the terrains in Call of War. With this rework we want to give you the feeling of commanding your troops through realistic terrain, drawing inspiration from military maps of the time. Whether you fight an infantry melee in the mountains, bombard an enemy strongpoint with artillery or plan an ambush from a forest hideout, the new textures will make it look more spectacular than ever before.
The army details window also features new artwork. The artwork will change depending on the unit composition of the army. Make sure to schedule an inspection of your armies and check out their new, improved looks! We’ve also improved the options in the map filter menu. You can now toggle unit sprites and labels on and off. This will allow you to customize your map view to your preferences. Additionally we’ve added filter options to only show friendly units, neutral units, hostile units or even a mix of all those options. These changes give you more clarity on the tactical situation while leading your troops into battle.
We’ve also fixed a lot of bugs! When a coalition leader goes inactive, the coalition leadership is now correctly handed over to the next active player. Players will no longer be able to teleport their planes from a patrol mission directly back to the airfield, as teleportation technology is not yet available. Additionally we’ve fixed multiple issues that caused units to display the wrong arrival time in the army bar.

In this exciting scenario the Axis won the war and established colonial empires in North America. While Japan exploits the west the Germans claimed the eastern shores of the former Land of the Free. But resistance is growing in the heartland of the fallen states and patriots are reclaiming the heritage of the Founding Fathers.

Attention, General!
Today’s update brings us balance changes, bug fixes and visual updates, so strap in and get ready for this week's Release Notes. We’ll start with the balance changes. All the changes are aimed at opening up and diversifying the possible unit build options. We’ve slightly adjusted the costs and build times of naval units, bombers and ranged units. This includes a small buff to battleships and attack bombers, and slight nerfs for cruisers, strategic and tactical bombers as well as artillery. All balance changes will only be applied to newly started maps, already running games are unaffected.
Last week we already deployed a hotfix for bugs and issues introduced with CoW 2.0. We removed a blur effect from the UI that caused significant performance drops on Android devices, added the missing manpower information to the province list and fixed some missing or wrong unit icons and pictures.

In this event you will not know friends nor family: In a 100p map with the ‘anonymous round’ feature enabled and no coalitions you will be pitted against 99 other players in a struggle for survival.
The event maps will start immediately after their creation with random country selection enabled and will run at normal speed. Players are flagged as inactive after 2 days. There is also an AI & human player peace period of 1 real-life day. Additional option this time: 6 week time-box. The game will end after 6 weeks, the player with the highest victory points wins and receives a large gold prize.
