I'm happy to announce that I've added a brand new game mode to Canvas Hockey - World Champion! In this game mode, you'll represent a country and face off against 15 other countries in a 4-round, best-of-7 NHL-style playoff tournament. I made this mode to be a special challenge, for the most advanced Canvas Hockey players - especially those who have already mastered the CHL cup!

First, do your best to see if you can manage to win a World Championship with any country, to unlock the World Champ achievement. Then, the game will continue to keep track of how many world cups you have collected. I have added a new leaderboard on the community page to see who is truly the strongest Canvas Hockey player in the world!
New and Improved Player AI!
The one thing I've always been most embarrassed about with Canvas Hockey is the player AI. As many of you probably know, while the AI generally makes decent passing, shooting, and positioning decisions, there is one huge flaw with the player AI: obstacle detection. When I was making the game I made it a personal goal to do everything myself, as much from scratch as possible (i.e., no assets). This is one area where I finally decided it makes more sense to use an existing asset instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. So I've added in Astar pathfinding from Aron Granberg, and I hope you'll agree that the AI in the game is now vastly better!
In addition to these big updates, I've also added in a few small QOL improvements, including longer player names (up to 20 characters) and the ability to enter a custom goalie name in career mode. You'll also find 4 new country rink canvases: Brazil, Egypt, Australia, and China. I needed these to get to 16 teams for the tournament, but more countries will be added! Please comment on the discussion board if you want to see a specific country added.

Hey Canvas Hockey Players!
Hope everyone has been enjoying Canvas Hockey, it's hard to believe we are coming up on the 1 year anniversary pretty soon! Since we have had a large influx of new players, I wanted to make a quick update based on a recent player request: bots only tournaments!
In this new tournament mode, you become a human spectator as you watch 12 bots fight to the death (not literally) for the CHL cup. You can either simulate games by clicking 'Next Game', or watch the games by clicking 'Watch' from the list of available games. When spectating games, you can control the speed of time to go slo-mo on intense moments, or skip past the boring stuff (like back checking).

I've also made some small changes to the way Fullscreen works, so if you have any issues with the fullscreen mode on your screens or monitors, please let me know.

Canvas Hockey Holiday update & adds mobile support!

In the new Version 1.2 update of Canvas Hockey, you'll find some new fresh tunes (which you can also listen to on Spotify and Apple Music), a new Holiday themed rink canvas, and you can now download Canvas Hockey on the App Store and Google Play Store!
