This update is primarily fixes and refinements from our previous major update which introduced the first implementation of the pet system, with pet crabs available currently.
We’ve fixed the issue that could sometimes lead to two pets spawning, plus implemented a basic dance behavior when the player is dancing with a pet on the ground near them. Please let us know if you encounter any further issues with the pets.
Patch Notes:
Clothing
Fixed an issue with Portuguese clothing patterns.

Update 0.8.13.0
This week’s major update includes the first implementation of pets, with pet crabs now available. Current implementation includes the pets either following you around, sitting or riding on your shoulder, as-well as full customization. In order to get a pet you need to open the character editor, then on Options Tab there is a section called "Pets" where you can switch between "No Pet" and "Crab".
Please remember this is still an Alpha, and given this is a major update, there will likely be issues relating to the pets, so please let us know of any issues you encounter, and we can get them fixed as soon as possible over the coming days. In future updates cats and other animals will be introduced as pets, plus the ability to name them.
Another addition is we’ve optimized the character applier and save system by removing some structures in a move for greater standardization, specifically we no longer keep hair data separate to clothing, and use single functions throughout to handle it. You will need to repick your hairstyle after this change as it will have been lost, all other outfits and clothing will not be affected. This was part of our development towards pets.
Other performance optimizations include repacking of textures on some clothing accessories to save both texture memory and disk space. We’ve also at the same time improved height detail in the materials so you should see notable improvements with more pronounced hems and perforated clothing.

Update 0.8.12.0
We’ve migrated the game to the newest version of the Unreal Engine with this update (4.19 from 4.18), plus included a bunch of media improvements. Please let us know if you experience any issues with this update :)
Specifically for media playback we’ve added a secondary decoder, which upon the standard framework failing to load a video, which it does with some formats, it will pass the video over this and attempt to load it there instead. This will mean some videos that might not have played previously will now play.

Update 0.8.11.0
This major update includes a new area based around a large telescope array and observatory. Inside the main observatory structure is one of our new features, a 360 cinema. From here you can immerse yourself in almost total 360 video surroundings.
In addition to this new cinema type, we’ve also overhauled existing cinemas with a new approach to displaying in-game videos. Previously we would only support youtube, and had a cut-down web-browser to render them. This wasn’t particularly good, as it lacked audio control, and was limited to really that one provider, which didn’t always work anyway. With this new approach we do not support any specific provider directly, but instead accept any direct media url to be played by using the same system to would already power the audio output in our club areas. This also comes with the benefit of better video quality, better audio quality, audio volume control and fading of audio as you move away from the area. It also will mean pretty much no hitches, and better fps in general.
Secondly in this update we’ve also introduced support for the Steamworks Inventory Service, which allows us to better manage items in the game. This means items unlocked through gameplay, or purchased via DLC will be handled through this system instead. In terms of how the game operates, nothing will really change front end, you will customize characters as. The only visual change you will notice, is your items are now stored under your Steam profile Inventory (which can globally be made private or friends only if you need to for whatever reason).
In addition to this inventory support we’ve also created an item store on steam. This will allow us to release items more easily than the conventional DLC method (and not wait on approval before a product is sold). We will be aiming to remove all existing DLC packages from sale, sometime over the next week or so and instead focus primarily on this item store. You can visit the item store here.
