Weekly info 02.05.2018

Hey everyone!

It's finally May!
Cardinal Cross is getting really close to full release.
I'm almost done with chapter 11 in the script and began writing the ending(s).
Branching, here we go!
It's a very exciting chapter, but because it's exciting, I have to make sure I don't slip up and end up with a terrible plot hole.
Lots of writing and re-writing incoming. Along with a substantial amount of caffeine.

As for in game, I started working on chapter 9. Just a few scenes, but I'm already having a lot of fun.
There is a party in it! A Moraian party too! =D

By next Wednesday, I am hoping to finally start working on the dreaded chapter 12! (Anxiety rises)

P.s: Some people seem to be losing sound whenever they open up codex entries.
I can't replicate the error in any of my computers, so it's taking me some time to figure out what's really happening. It's really strange. Nevertheless, I'm working on it! I'll definitely do my best to fix it as soon as possible.

Hi everyone!

This week was very productive regarding Cardinal Cross.

A few days ago, I released a tiny update that fixed a romance choice UI bug. It was urgent, so I couldn't wait until Wednesday.

I finished Chapter 8 completely in the game, and sending the dialogues to the editor in a few minutes.
It was really fun (and kind of strange) to see Lana in a dress.

I also started working on Chapter 11 on the script, and I can't believe how smoothly things are going at the moment.
I was expecting and prepared for at least one disaster.(Still am. Not letting my guard down.)

At this rate if everything goes right, the full release will be ready by end of May or beginning of June.

There is always unknown disasters lurking around in the shadows, waiting for their time to strike, though. So, fingers crossed.

This week, I'll be working on Chapter 11 in the script, and start programming Chapter 9 as soon as possible.
I really want to have some extra weeks for play testing.

I'm thinking about leaving the game on Early Access for a few days after I upload the final version. I'm not sure if it's against Steam aggreement, so I'll have to double check.
It would be nice to make sure the final version works for everyone. But maybe I'm overly-fussy?

Hi everyone,

Almost one month since the early access release.
Thank you so so much for all your suggestions and bug reports!

I finally finished Chapter 10 revision this week and started chapter 11.
It took a bit longer than usual, because I added some extra scenes to Chapter 10's ending.
Which is why I couldn't start the placement in the game, but I think they were very much needed.

This week, I will start working on the placement and programming of the next chapters.
So next Wednesday, I'll be able to show you some new screenshots! :)

I'm also planning a small update next week to add a save option at the end of chapter 7(the end of early access) as suggested.

As always, please let me know your suggestions and feedback.

Update 11.04.2018

Hey everyone!

We have a very small update this week.
As promised I added the entry font size slider to the codex and a previous choices hide/show option to the settings menu.

This week, I finally finished Chapter 10.
It was really intense, I am so excited about this chapter especially!
Can't wait to see it in the game.

If everything goes right, I'll be revising chapter 10 for the rest of this week, and will start adding Chapter 9 to the game.

(And if I get a little free time, I can start working on Chapter 11 in the script.)

Hi everyone!

This week I mainly worked on the script of the next chapters.
Revised Chapter.8 and 9, and I'm almost done with chapter.10.

The sprite artwork, Background artwork and CG artwork is complete until chapter.10.
I think we are ahead of the deadline.

I have a feeling the game will be finished sooner than I expect.
I hope so, so that I can add an extra week for more testing and editing.

Next week, I am planning a small update to add a "hiding/showing previous choices" in the settings menu. I also want to add a font size slider to the codex entries.

Update 28.03.2018

Hi everyone!

This is the first update of Cardinal Cross since the Early Access release.

I want to give you weekly updates about the progress of the game, if it won't be too overwhelming to you.
The last thing I want is to spam your community hub feed.

This week was all about listening to your suggestions, and fixing the bugs/errors in the game.

Here is what the small update (or should I say patch?) contains;


  • Fixed a bunch of spelling errors. English is not my native language, so yikes. There were quite a lot, huh?
  • Added Quick Save and Quick Load shortcut keys to the game. F4 for QS, F5 for QL.
  • Added a shortcut key for text history ("H"), and now it resets the scroll bar whenever you open it up.
  • Escape menu now has a gallery option, and saving the game through escape menu shows the proper scene picture now. (not a screenshot of the actual escape menu.)
  • Enter key works for choice selecting now.
  • Added a Previous button to the gallery.
  • Updated the tutorial.
  • Made the quick menu buttons larger.
  • increased the font size slider.
  • Added a missing CG to the gallery.


I'll see you next week with hopefully teasers about the upcoming chapters.
