Carrie's Order Up!

New Walking/Running Controls

This new update adds in an extra key/button to help control Carrie's speed!

Some people have found the game to be too fast at times, so I added in a slower default speed. You can hold down another button to run at her usual pace.

However! If you prefer something else, like hold to walk, or hitting the button once to alternate, you can change it in the Settings section of the menu.

Let me know if it helps make the game easier, and if any other bugs come up. I'll be trying to look into some of the other ones people have mentioned in the future.

Have a Happy Halloween!

Steam Trading Cards!

You guys have been asking it for a while, and I can finally announce that Carrie's Order Up now features steam trading cards, as well as backgrounds and emoticons to collect. I hope you guys have a lot of fun with it!

Special thanks goes to these artists who were commissioned to help make some of the cards:

Updates!

Hi everyone, made a quick update tonight to fix some things with a few achievements, and making sure the tougher ones have some extra checks so that they unlock properly.

I also added screenshot support!

Things to come:

1) Steam Trading Cards. This is one of the more requested aspects, and I've been communicating with commissioned artists (close friends who I trust to do great work) to help create cards for some of the folks in Carrie's restaurants.

2) Button for running/walking. Some folk have felt overwhelmed by the speed of the game at first, so in order to accomodate them, I'm adding in a button to control Carrie/Calcia's speed. You'll be able to toggle how this works in the settings menu, even setting it back to normal if you'd like.

These things take time, but I'll be making a news posts as they come in. As always let me know if you have any problems, and have fun!

Thank You For Your Support!

I wanted to say thanks to everyone who gave Carrie's Order Up a chance. I sincerely hope you're having fun with it. I started working on Carrie over two years ago, in between school and other personal projects, uploading it to Itch.io last November. For Steam I really wanted to make it as complete as I could. I know what it's like to put money and time into a game and feel disappointed, and tried my best to provide something worthwhile.

You can probably tell that I'm not a huge company; I've been working on this in my spare time on my laptop with help from my closest friends. Uploading to steam took so long since a part of me was scared of how the community would receive it, and I'm extremely grateful that people have been this supportive so far, even in spite of some bugs/crashes.

Even for large companies with hundreds of people working on it, a video game is only a bunch of data on some computer. The only thing that truly completes a video game is someone taking the time to play it. I'm very glad that you all helped complete this experience!

In the future, I hope that I can continue to create better and more memorable games. As for Carrie, who knows what surprises wait, but I'll be sure to let you all know about it if anything comes along!

Thank you for playing!

-Zach
