After several days of testing and rebalancing, this update finally adds the beginner difficulty to Carsteroids.
This is a long time requested feature that finally lands after having balanced the "normal" and "less hard" difficulty, aiming to give the opportunity also to the players who prefer a less challenging experience to enjoy the game. This new difficulty setting is still a true Carsteroids experience, but with a small feature added. After selection, it simply increases your car maximum energy so that you can take more hits and last longer in the combat arena. As a result, when you play in story mode, you will also receive more money to spend on upgrades after you clear a stage.
Hope this new addition can give a better gameplay experience, especially to the players who are having hard time when playing the other difficulty settings. There is also a new paint job to unlock in the arcade mode. It's named "N-Wave" and you can have it for just 50 tokens :)
That's all for now! As always thanks for your feedback and thanks for playing!
See you in the arena, bkdove

The half-dead slave - a Carsteroids short story
The half-dead slave
A Carsteroids short story
Unlucky people do not exist, it all depends on their state of mind. Weak people do not exist, it all depends on the tools in their possession.
I was a slave of sector 74, assigned to the 10th wave deployment with the promise of freedom if I contributed to beating the main player in the combat arena. That’s every slave prize: stop your target, avoid being killed and you’re free to go. And if you achieve that, stay away from troubles in Vesta City or the troopers will bring you back here.
This arena fight is not a complicated task. The only problem is that you’re on foot with only a rifle while your opponent is a combat car, but apart from this small particular you can count on your squad members, if they manage to stay alive. I was ready, mentally trained and half brainwashed, with just my legs, my weapon and a black helmet like the ones who only show chin and mouth.
I jumped in the deployment truck assigned to stage 11, a hell of flames and metal. The other 5 guys from my squad continued to scream during the short trip. I stared at their desperate faces before the back door slammed on the burned floor. Slaves mostly die in the arena, they are just part of the entertainment, but that was not my case, at least in part. We were lucky our driver was a good one, he avoided a minefield on the left and several debris in flames. If a driver dies before he can stop the truck and open the deployment door, we slaves are dead too. You know what I mean.
The combat area was bigger than I imagined, a former warehouse converted into a fighting arena, very impressive. The audience was screaming, the stage lights were blinding and several rays of light were penetrating a big cloud of grey smoke. Some debris fell from above. I checked if my helmet was properly fastened. The first thing I saw was a yellow laser shooting through the cloud of smoke and I heard screaming tires. That was our main target, a fully armored black Viper model, drifting while disappearing again in the same cloud of smoke. We all shot with our rifles, we wanted that promised freedom. We didn’t hit. There was zero cover, our truck was gone. No wrecked car skeletons around. I realized why slaves die so often in the Carsteroids arenas. I also realized you have a few seconds to discharge all your firepower praying for your good aim and especially praying that your opponent does not notice you too soon. We stayed in formation, we saw again our target on the right, it was busy trying to avoid a couple of explosive barrels. We shot and we hit! The barrels exploded, but the Viper spotted us and quickly turned around. He was on fire and charging us at full speed. We maintained our formation, we screamed and kept shooting straight ahead.
The last thing I remember was the metallic bumper breaking my leg, me falling on the ground and the car passing on my arm. The helmet saved my head, but half of my body died.
After that battle all our squad achieved freedom, but I am the only one able to tell it.

Update v1.06t
Hello pilots! Carsteroids just received a new update based on your feedback, thanks very much!
This update is about balancing the difficulty and the score bonuses based on it. Because the game has now a third difficulty level, any extra bonus received will be proportioned to the difficulty chosen.
The new selectable difficulty level is named "normal (alt)". This is just an alternative variant to "normal" featuring the same difficulty, but with automatic reload.
Also, when playing a "Car-ball" single match Vs the CPU you can now win tokens for each goal you score (if you don't lose the match, of course). This change should give an additional reason to choose a single match instead of the tournament.
Here the full changelog, let me know what you think!
v1.06t changelog:
Added the third difficulty level (same as normal, but with automatic reload and a slightly smaller extra bonus for the score).
Renamed "Versus" to "Car-ball" in the title page.
Renamed "Extra" to "Bonus Round" in the title page.
In a Car-ball single match Vs the CPU now you can win tokens for each goal you score.
When playing Story/Arcade the player now receives a bonus score based on chosen difficulty.
When playing "Bonus Round" on normal difficulty the player now receives a +20% bonus score.
Fixed a bug in Arcade mode preventing the player to advance to the next stage.
Fixed a bug preventing to properly show the reloading message on screen.
Other small fixes.
See you in the games! bkdove studios
Update v1.06
Hello pilots, Carsteroids just received a new update!
The new extra mode named "Bonus Round" is ready to play
It consists in playing the 4 bonus stages to achieve the best score (and of course for a bit of practice too). You need to unlock the stages by playing the story mode if you never played them before.
The sum of the 4 best scores will form a megascore, let's share and compete! ;)
I have also added a new item in the bonus stage 4 that adds 5 seconds to your timer when picked up. This addition further balances the gameplay of the stage, I hope it is welcome.
As mentioned in the previous news, the Italian translation is now live
I didn't notice at the start how much text was present in the game since now, so it's been a quite long journey. Thanks very much to Alessandro Casnigo (Casungo) for all the help!
Promo codes are finally active
You'll just need to input the code in the title page to redeem it, very easy. Each code is one-shot and grants a different effect (permanent or just temporary).
I'll share the codes in the future, but here is one for you to try: The code is: J F G B (effect: receive 50 tokens)
Paint jobs
The last introduced feature is the selection between two paint jobs before starting the arcade mode. There will be more of them in the future updates, maybe with a "collection page" too.
The new flaming paint job in action ;)
Here are the first two: "Phoenix" overwrites the default orange paint job. "Regno" introduced for the fresh Italian language translation.
There are also some gameplay adjustments, few minor additions and some bugfixes, you can read about this in the full changelog by scrolling below. Thanks for reading and most importantly, thanks very much for all your feedbacks.
