1.8.2 Patch Notes
Here's a small list of improvements to the game since we launched The Sunshine Update, that is now live on PC and console versions of the game!
Note: This patch is version 1.8.2 for the Steam version of Cassette Beasts but will display as 1.8.3 on some console platforms.
Fixes
- Fixed some of Sunny’s portraits appearing pixelated instead of being filtered linearly on large screens.
- Fixed the move Royal Flush’s description saying it’s Melee when it’s actually Ranged.
- Fixed some minor Sunny dialogues not playing when camping if the party does not actually need to heal at the time.
- Fixed enemies with Royal Flush incorrectly removing their own statuses when not even using Royal Flush.
- Fixed partner tapes being incorrect if you quit a randomiser file and then create or load a new file.
- Fixed the new roaming beast added in 1.8.0 (temporarily) deleting overworld chunks if you lure it far enough from its starting point before fighting it.
- Fixed a loop you could get stuck in if you stood on the chest on the raising platform in the North-East corner of the overworld.
- Moved a stalagmite in a cave in Eastham Woods that could get the player character stuck.
- If you’ve already battled all NPCs in the main game, you can now get the headskip achievement by jumping over Frankie, Vin, or Kirby in the postgame.
- Fixed a wrongwarp glitch that could occur near Platform A at Mournington Crescent.
- Fixed Padpole showing a Max AP of 4 instead of the 5 it actually has in battle.
- Fixed some missing collision on the exterior of Mt. Wirral.
- Fixed a typo in Pawprince’s bio.
- Fixed some of Sunny’s romance dialogue at the end of the game being skipped.
The “Sunshine Update” is now available!
Sunny days are upon us!
Beloved NPC, Sunny, will now have a new storyline! Following the main story, players will have the opportunity to partner with Sunny for the first time as she embarks on a new questline to uncover details about her past as one of New Wirral’s peculiar Landkeepers.
As a note, Sunny’s content is only available to those that have finished the main story of Cassette Beasts!
New Monsters!
Sunny’s questline introduces a few new monsters, including her signature tape form, Pawper! This large beast-type creature resembles a bear costume… but is there a deeper mystery under its skin? Best not to think about it too long.... Pawper’s signature move, “Bear Hug,” transfers negative status effects to the target, making them quite the tactical partner.
There are two other monsters but...we’ll let you find them in game ;)
Soar through the air with brand new wings!
This update allows you to personalize your gliding wings after recording specific monsters. If you’re looking for even more wing options to enhance your adventures, the new premium Wings Pack DLC offers an array of themed wings to further customize your character.

Cassette Beasts: Acoustic Sessions + Player Survey now live!
Acoustic Sessions
The Cassette Beasts: Acoustic Sessions album is now live! This collects the various live recordings that composer Joel Baylis and vocalist Shelby Harvey have done over the last several years in one album - as well as two new recordings that had not been released before now!

An official release of these acoustic recordings has been a community request for some time, so we're excited to be able to bring this to you!

The Sunshine Update
As revealed in the Cassette Beasts Showcase 2025, Cassette Beasts version 1.8 "The Sunshine Update" is arriving on April 7th for PC & consoles as a free update! Why, that's only a few days away! We're super excited for 1.8, which brings fan favourite character Sunny into the spotlight as a new partner character. See you on Monday for the update!

THE SUNSHINE UPDATE
On April 7th we'll be launching an exciting update to Cassette Beasts starring fan-favorite, Sunny! Sunny will become a companion character complete with storyline, come with a new few new monsters, the ability to record wing skins, and a new paid cosmetic DLC that add additional wing skins!
Sunny's quest will be available to those who have finished the base game's story - more information coming with our launch post on April 7th!

Cassette Beasts 2024 - A Year in Review
Cassette Beasts in 2024
The year started with a bang with the annual Cassette Beasts Showcase where we announced the release date for the Multiplayer Update and announced the Mobile port! The response was very positive, which continued into the summer with our special live concert - which debuted a new song!
We went into the latter half of the year with the Gauntlet Update which launched only last month, alongside the opening of Steam Workshop for Cassette Beasts! It's been amazing seeing both the reactions to the updates and to see the community grow!
Our music duo of Joel and Shelby also performed the music of Cassette Beasts live for the first time at the Bonus Stage charity event here in the UK!
The momentum of Cassette Beasts has only grown and grown across this year, which is incredible to see for a team as small as ours! Some stats to chew on:
- Cassette Beasts has over 600,000 players across all platforms!
- There are over 6,900 Steam user reviews at an average score of 95%!
- Songs from the soundtrack were streamed over 2.5 million times on Spotify, listened to in nearly 150 countries!
What's in store for 2025...
Whilst the Mobile ports were unfortunately delayed longer than intended, our publisher Raw Fury and their porting partners are working hard on them and are aiming for a launch early next year.
The 1.7 update was not the last update for Cassette Beasts - you can expect more information in next year's Cassette Beasts Showcase! We're super excited for the future of Cassette Beasts and hope you are, too!

Cassette Beasts 1.7.7 Patch Notes
We put out a hotfix today to fix some bugs from the 1.7 update. This has gone out on all platforms. Here's the list!
Fixes
- Fixed the “Your Resources” box in the Sticker Fusion menu not updating after fusing stickers.
- Fixed some incorrect logic in Sticker Fusion that could cause permanent loss of the selected “attribute source” sticker, if you attempt to fuse stickers while you don’t have enough Fused Material.
- Fixed game sometimes locking up after beating the gauntlet bosses in carriage 50 and 150.
- Fixed vocal track not fading in when you fuse during an online co-op gauntlet battle.
- Fixed the level cap not applying to Orb and Archangel rematches outside the gauntlet.
- Fixed a typo in a Pier of the Unknown boss bestiary entry.
- Fixed a factual error in one of Magikrab’s dialogues in the gauntlet.
- [Steam Only] Fixed tags sometimes not applying correctly in the Steam Workshop upload tool.
- Fixed a crash that can occur if a character afflicted with Close Encounter uses Vengeful Curse, misses, and triggers Jagged Edge.
