Another FixHot + Sad News

Going to put out another hotfix, and going to force this one because I feel like the issues might be most related to the congestion on this server but whom knows. This should fix the issues with registration, issues with actually getting into maps is entirely player amount related. It's happened in the past with getting so many people on and it'll happen again. Support for the game server I use for realtime procedurals is just.... almost non-existent.

The sad news is that in order for me to get these hotfixes out in a timely fashion, I think shifting my support to just Windows for now would be best. It takes an additional 4 hours to prepare and compile for Mac and Linux, and I don't have the proper equipment to really test those kinds of things.

As far as alternatives- most people use Wine, some used it in lieu of the Mac version of the game I'd put up anyway, seemingly it worked better.

Another alternative is to run a Windows partition and play CS through that.

You could also try getting a better computer

Once the game is more stable I can more confidently put up Mac and Linux ports, but for now it's just an extra step that doesn't support enough of the community to put a lot of my time into.

Sorry, guy

Y'all Broke the Game

If you can't get into any maps right now its mainly because we didn't plan for so many people being in the maps all at once.

As I'm writing this there is like... 100+ people on so.. yea

I would try logging in at night when there are less people on, because the new Steam users plus the old pre-Steam users is gonna lead to a lot of people being on at once.

Also I was planning on trying to get out a hotfix today for some of the smaller issues, I'll see what I can do as far as evening out the load of people on but I don't think I can do anything right now.

Thanks, guys

They Did It Again

Day 2033: We're running out of food.

We asked Steam to upload the game so long ago we don't remember what life was like before we did it. All the days seem to mend together into one long endless night.

Asorisaur ran out of water yesterday and started eating the other staff members. I thought I wasn't a target until I had awoken and seen half of my leg was gone. My only thoughts were that I wish I could have eaten it first.

Sometimes.. I hear him, you know? Gaben. He's out there. Every now and then I look to the little bit of light that drips into my windows, as bright as the Steam Logo. I see his face. He is welcoming my game to Steam with a smile on his face. Then I blink and it's all just a reminder that I may never see the beauty in his eyes. That my game may never be accepted, and my cries never heard from down in this pit. With the last of my strength, I try to contact Steam support again. Now I wait.

I'm coming, Gaben....

I'm coming.

Steam is Very Cool and Easy To Use

So the "Coming soon" date, is literally out of my control. On May 18th when I submitted the game for review, it bumped my release date to May 23rd. Ok Cool.

Now it's telling me I can't release anything until May 27th

But ALSO on the little calendar thing for picking when to put the earliest release, it's forcing me to choose May 28th

Nevermind got it to pick the date it actually told me to by basically fucking with the UI. Cool.

ANDD!! I never got any confirmation on ANY of the date changes by email and STILL haven't heard anything back about the broken ass Steam Store.

If this had been a bigger more important game and I'd put out press releases or some shit based on the "Coming soon" date that Steam, not me, gets to set and on a whim change at any time without telling anyone, I'd be in some real shit. I paid 100 to put my game up, I'd really like, idk SOME form of communication on when I can upload what I paid to.

Good News Bad News

I was ready to submit and apparently you have to wait like a week or so for Steam to approve it or whatever... so.. that's cool.

I promised you guys no matter what I'd make the game available so it's gonna be on the website under Mediafire

The download is up and available on the website right now, just Windows x86 for right now

http://cerealsoupgame.com/DOWNLOAD/

It is now 8AM and I'm finally going to bed

Late Release

Sorry, we ran into some major bugs that wouldn't let you guys save players so I'll have to fix and compile again. I'm gonna be pulling an all-nighter after work so expect the good stuff in the morning at the earliest.

We still have demos available for messing around with on our website, so check those out if you've never played CS before.

Again I'm mega sorry for the delay, but thanks for keeping up to date- those of you who have already gone through update cycles with CS are probably not surprised LOL but it's good luck to have a horrible bug on release day so my hopes are high.
