BETA Update 1.9.1 Change Log:
Bug Fixes:
FIXED Psion background giving a 5% reduction to mettle cost of skills instead of giving 5% stress damage resistance
Changes & Additions:
Disabled "Powerful Projection" icon from always being visible for the Psion background (It's still working as intended and applying properly, but the icon has been set to blank like the rest of the other hidden statuses - I meant to turn it off before, but forgot to after testing)
All psionic attacks are now considered to be a certain hit instead of a special attack - with a chance of missing - since they already have a flat chance to fail (I felt it was a bit too punishing that the enemy could dodge these attacks on top of them being able to fail)
Safety glasses renamed to ballistic glasses (Fits more of what I meant them to represent) and their stats have been adjusted from (+1% hit, +1% critical, +1% blinded resistance >>> +2% blinded resistance, +3% critical evasion - Their value has also gone up from 15 base cost to 24 base cost)

Psionics were never meant to be part of the game, but since the game was released into Early Access, that was the number one thing that people have been asking me for. So, psionics have been lightly added into the game. Unless something drastic changes, the only character that will be able to ever gain these skills is the main character. I do not really plan on adding this stuff into the rest of the game for companions and enemies and such, but maybe once I added some more enemy types like monsters and mutants and stuff, they might be able to use these skills as well.
I don't want to completely change the vision of the game, especially being so far along in terms of development, and I personally didn't want psionics to be part of Chaos Chain, but I decided to add them and that players who are interested in them can at least have the option. So, in order to use psionics, you need to take the "Psion" background during character creation. This will give you access to the skill type and allow you to roleplay as someone with psychokinesis.
The special ability they get is "Powerful Projection" which makes it so that they get a passive bonus to each feature (toughness, muscle, finesse, resolve) while they are not in combat, so what this means is that in dialogues where there are stat checks based on those features, it's meant to represent that you can influence the mind of the people you're talking to. Beyond that, you need to purchase the new psionic abilities.
This will allow the game to feel more akin to "Shadowrun" for those of you who know of it. I love Shadowrun too, Chaos Chain is heavily inspired by it, but I wanted to build something a little different, so I kept things mostly about technology and not about supernatural topics. Anyways, you guys got your wish! Psionics are now available in game!

Throw debris skill lowered in base damage by 1 point, but given 1 more initiative on use

The select hacker screen during system hacking will now display ineligible (Those who don't have the correct capabilities necessary to hack) companions with the "disconnected" screen overlay

Added psionic skill category (Communty request - Only available for the main character through character creation)
Added "Powerful Projection" unique psion ability (+20% to all features at all times when not in combat - This means you can influence dialogues that are based on stats for positive outcomes in your favor)
Added "Psychic" title for psion characters and added this to the PDA title selection list
Updated combat sound profile settings to include psionic attack sound effects (Miss/evade/fail/etc)
Added several new icon art images

Bug Fixes:
FIXED a bug which could cause a crash in certain cases with the hacking system when selecting an actor to perform the hacking (This issue was new since I updated the face border method to have an overlay image over both active AND inactive members, which the select hacker method relied on)
FIXED a bug which allowed you to select an inactive member (Not party of the current squad) to perform system hacking
Changes & Additions:
Added spiked club melee weapon
Updated some shops
Updated handling for the "In the System" Steam achievement so that you no longer need to close the menu after saving with a memory chip for the achievement to trigger

BETA Update 1.8.1 Change Log:
Bug Fixes:
FIXED memory chip use from the inventory getting stuck from time to time and saying "You cannot save at this time."
FIXED memory chip steam achievement not triggering if you use the save option in the menu (It previously was only working if you use the item itself from the inventory screen or through a quickslot)
FIXED an issue where fast traveling via the road between districts could cause weather for inside/outside processing to not match and lead to weird circumstances
Changes & Additions:
Setup a new and improved process to disable quickslot use in cutscenes and dialogues (The old method was working, but it was flawed and didn't work exactly as intended)

Bug Fixes:
POTENTIAL Fix for the Steam achievement "In the System" not triggering as it should (Please let me know if it works now)
FIXED a random travel event accidentally giving an infamy point by mistake
Changes & Additions:
Added 15 various medical/food/utility items to all human enemy drop lists (This will help make drop lists for enemies a bit more believable and also a bit more rewarding)
Added a useable mattress in the derelict warehouse that becomes available after completing the "Helping Hands" side quest
Updated the credits scene logo for Corrosive Studios to glow and be slightly easier to see (It was blending too much with the background)
Updated the "More CS" option in the main menu with a new icon
Added a few more "good" outcomes for various travel events to make it less likely to get repeatedly screwed over (Looking at you hot dog cart salesman)

Bug Fixes:
FIXED an issue in the "Dirty Rotten" side quest which prevented the dialogue from activating with one of the related characters

The small light in the top right corner of the active member overlay is now green instead of red (Originally, it was meant to look like a recording indicator, but since I changed the appearance of them to be more like a computer screen instead of a camera, I have updated the color to match the signal bars)
