Welcome to the Chapel!
Hello, would-be monsters!
The Steam page is finally up and you can feast your eyes on the reveal trailer and some initial screenshots from our new game, Chapel 3-D: The Ascent! For those of you who don’t know, this game is a sort of a prequel/ successor to our last game, Cathedral 3-D, in which you control this powerful beast that has to defend itself and its lair (the lair being the titular Cathedral) from the invaders who want to put an end to your unholy existence. It’s a very dynamic, old-school FPS with a retro aesthetic and the goal of it is basically to survive as long as possible and get the highest possible score. Now that is all cool and good but now that we had this skeleton, there was an itch to use it for something… more.
The natural instinct was, obviously, to build not just on the engine and mechanics of the previous game but also on the narrative, and that’s how the idea for Chapel 3-D: The Ascent was born. In Chapel, you will follow the journey of our character from a puny little human through separating themselves from their heart and becoming the terrifying beast that we know from Cathedral. Of course, your enemies are still here, and they will try to stop you in your tracks before you can acquire your full power, so you’ll be forced to escape through the multiverse and avoid them, while also getting closer to your goal. In a sort of an… ascent… if you will.
You can hear it straight from the author’s mouth in the Feardemic’s Fear Fest Deep Dive interview with Mateusz Bielicki. You can find it, along with other Deep Dives and trailers, at Feardemic’s YouTube channel, here.
Get ready for more information coming soon, and make sure to always leave your feedback in the comments, as we love hearing from our fans, and your opinion can truly shape the game and make it so much better!
