Major Update #1 (including SteamDeck support) & Promo

Last months the team was quite busy working on bringing Chasm: The Rift to consoles and at the same time introducing more tweaks and improvements for PC version. Today it all goes live. In order to celebrate it we are running a 50% promo on the game for Steam gamers.

But what about tweaks? Probably the most important PC update is a SteamDeck compatibility (which will be verified by the Steam team soon), but that's just one of many. Here is the full list:

- Implemented aim assist feature for controller input.
- Added configurable motion blur post effect into the game.
- Improved controls (e.g. more convenient turning and non-linear acceleration).
- Introduced a new custom difficulty level that allows individually set player damage, enemy damage and a number of spawning enemies based on different difficulty levels.
- Implemented new crosshair configuration (shape, size, color) and improved crosshair preview with animated background.
- Fixes the annoying inaccuracy of crosshair position and hit projection.
- Implemented dynamic protagonist picture, a feature that changes the protagonist's picture in the in-game HUD in accordance with health and picked-up devices during the game.
- Added the following accessibility configuration options: non-stylized font, non-stylized font color and size and a plain color channel mixer.
- Added Traditional Chinese language support.
- Added the "Continue" option to the main menu. This option loads the latest save slot.
- Improved mods support and prepared a guide to make it easier (friction variable)
- Moved addon levels loading to the main menu for extra levels.
- Improved the load time, all resources are loaded into the RAM.
- Improved "menu" keyboard navigation with additional bindings: W/A/S/D is used for navigation and sidebar configuration, SPACE is used for on/off configuration options.
- Added FPS lock configuration option.

We hope these changes will address some of your requests and make the gaming experience even better.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
SNEG Team

Chasm: The Rift is live!

Today we are releasing Chasm: The Rift. It was a long trip with numerous attempts across many years to bring this great game originally developed in Ukraine back to life. Clarifying the rights status, legal work, finding the code basis from which we can re-create the game, sleepless nights rewriting a big part of the game, QA, checking feedback, iterating and finally the day of release.

This day wouldn’t be possible without a fantastic community that was supporting the life of this game for over the last 20+ years. We are extremely grateful to each and every one of you. We’ve tried to put some of the names to the credits, but we are sure we might have missed someone. Apologies for it.

For many companies, release day would be the end of the journey, but not for us. There are still many things that we want to add to Chasm: The Rift and that, unfortunately, didn’t make it for this release. Please bear with us and share your feedback. It will help us to prioritize our future work on this great game.

Now it is time to save the Earth from Timestrikers and shoot off some enemy limbs. Share the news with your friends and have fun!

Thanks,
SNEG Team

Chasm: The Rift is participating in Steam Next Fest! Check the demo & wishlist!

Steam Next Fest is live! We hope even more gamers will have an opportunity to experience the updated demo of Chasm: The Rift, the game originally developed by Ukrainian developer Action Forms and now re-created by General Arcade. Our dream is that both people who enjoyed playing the original, as well as the new generation of gamers who are fans of FPS (or boomer shooters), will find something they love in this game.

On our side, we are getting closer to the release of Chasm: The Rift. The amount of enemy limbs that we’ve shot off during play-testing the game is uncountable. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has already played the demo and left their feedback on the forums or has supported us with kind words. We are checking your comments on a daily basis, analyzing them and trying to improve the game as much as possible prior to its release.

Don’t hesitate to wishlist this game and spread the word. Hope to see you all on 10th of October ;).

Thanks,
SNEG Team
