Cherry in the Sky Update 3.01a

Just a few small fixes this time!

General

  • Ensured that map transition works properly at all resolutions.
  • Added slight visual effects for player, baddies, and fruits that are under a waterfall.


Baddies

  • Fixed issues with Pi’s wind graphic moving absurdly fast, AGAIN.


Graphics

  • Added toggle for Vsync.


Wind Scenes

  • Made it more visually obvious that a fruit has already been grabbed.

Cherry in the Sky 1000% Complete Update!

The FINAL major update to Cherry in the Sky is now live!

It's been years coming, almost everything has been tweaked, upgraded, or adjusted, including a new post-game ability. From this point forward, I will only be doing necessary bugfixes to the game. This is my complete vision. Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy!



Cherry in the Sky 3.0 Full Change & Fix List:

General

  • New ability: in post-game Adventure Mode, player can listen to the winds (comparable to a mini-map) by using Fruit Pts and holding down a button.

  • All of Cherry’s horizontal movement speed increased 20% (except for Dress Poof).

  • Stronger hints on where to find the 150th Cherry.

  • Fixed issue in a few Adventure Scenes that could prevent the all-fruit Cherry from appearing until you returned to the scene.

  • Fixed potential save corrupting bug with areas that have two Transport Wind Zones leading to the same Wind Zone.

  • Fixed bug where you can be hit during a KickTwirl if you KickTwirl immediately after getting hit.

  • Better map hint for Golden Cherries.

  • Bumped achievement total to 68. Over 50 new achievements!


Baddies

  • Fixed issues with Pi’s wind graphic moving absurdly fast.

  • Improved Sports & Pi’s attack visuals.


Graphics

  • Tweaked lighting, color, bloom, and depth of field for numerous areas. Especially late game.

  • Greatly adjusted lighting and mood for Lemon Su intro cutscene.

  • Sheaves of grass now subtly animate in the Sundae Ranch.

  • Major visual upgrade to all scenes that contain fog/smoke.

  • Slight adjustment to outline fidelity.

  • Fixed issues with scene transitions:

    • Screen turns white, yellow, and gray respectively to the destination.

    • At scene end, no extraneous objects appear over the transition overlay.

    • Title screen changing background color should always match the last scene now.


Menus

  • Made the Secret Skies hints persistent until action is executed.


Sound

  • Added SFX for Main Map navigation Wind Scene highlighting.

  • Added SFX for baddies spawning into Gathering Scene.

  • Improved Sports & Pi’s attack sounds.

  • Cleaned up excess noise in some SFX.

  • Touched up orchestration and composition on a number of tracks (Added them to the OST zip file while still including the originals):

    • BGM 02 - The Sundae Ranch

    • BGM 04 - The Sucra Cliffs

    • BGM 05 - The Choco Depths

    • BGM 07 - The Great Sky Seether

    • BGM 08 - Higher Thoughts - Lemon Su's Theme


Wind Scenes

Cherry in the Sky v2.00 update!!

General
-Fixed every known issue. More fixes than I’m able to count on this list (Only major ones will be noted) and virtually every aspect of the game has seen some sort of refinement.
-Added a trail behind Cherry when she’s airborne to increase midair visibility (can be toggled in options)
-Added compatibility for all controllers (previously only major controllers had a default mapping. Remapping is still likely necessary).
-Fixed issue where end game Cherry & Sports map transportation animation would not animate properly.

Baddies
-Fixed issues with Pi’s wind graphic moving absurdly fast.
-Guppi’s and Gupper hold kissed fruits better.

Graphics
-All in game visuals improved (Unity 2019 upgrade forced a good post processing overhaul).
-Depth of field improved on various scenes, and added to ones that were supposed to have it but did not.
-Toned down bloom in Sucralose Cliffs and other places where it was slightly excessive.
-Added more dramatic lighting and atmosphere to Lemon Su introduction cutscene.

Menus
-Added umbrella themed map screen transition.
-Fixed numerous controller UI navigation errors.
-Added a little more tutorial/hint dialogue.
-Refined dialogue throughout the game.
-External website links in options now accessible by controllers.
-Ending credits now display player’s Cherry total.

Sound
-Refined wind reacting to Cherry’s movement. Fixed flickering wind sound.
-Fixed issue where losing umbrella in Gathering scenes could desync music from game timer (4 min mode should have songs that lasts exactly 4 min. Same for 5 and 6min ones).

Wind Scenes
-Added silhouette guides to some tutorials after a player proves they’re really struggling.
-Fixed a bug where a [secret] would only give player a single chance on the entire save to obtain it.
-Fixed issue where adjusting levels on a patch could prevent players from getting credit for all fruits in a scene (if players encounter this issue, they’ll receive credit upon reentering the level after leaving).
-Corrected a few grabbable and non-grabbable ledges.
-Added more post-ending background changes for scenes at the end of the Star Waters.
-Fixed a few transition Wind Zones that warped to the wrong location in the next wind scene in the Chocolate Hollows and the final escape.
-Using a Transport Wind Zone will now count as both the entry and exit being used in regards to completion, as opposed to just the entry zone.

Cherry in the Sky update 1.30a

Mostly polish fixes this time!


  • Made the controls as absolutely responsive as I think I possibly can X_X
  • Fixed bugs with the nuances of the baddies.
  • A million small UI fixes (well, not a million, but a lot XD).


Cherry's been in good shape forever, but I still want to push her closer and closer to ideal!

Cherry in the Sky update 1.20a

Main adjustments and additions made based on feedback and requests!


  • Game now has proper ultra-widescreen support (21:9).
  • Rumble support has been added for controllers.
  • In-game option menu has been added with all options I could add.
  • Numerous fixes to enhance input responsiveness and smoothness.

Cherry in the Sky is released for PC!

Thank you to everybody already enjoying Cherry in the Sky! That alone makes these five years of hard work all feel worth it.
