It’s Chessarama Anniversary 🎉


Do you remember what you were doing a year ago? We do: we were releasing Chessarama!

Today marks Chessarama’s anniversary, and we’re happy to have spent this year with you. Thank you for being part of our community 💙

What happened this year?



Even after the release, we didn’t stop working on our game! Just last week, we updated Chess Match, one of the three game modes in Chessarama.



We introduced a “same set” button, that makes your opponent uses the same chess set as yours, and added more time control options to play your matches.

But the real highlight of these features is the addition of new themed chessboards:


  • Farmer Board
  • Soccer Board
  • Samurai Board
  • Dragon Board

Our art team designed these chessboards inspired by the Campaign games, so you can pair your chess set with matching boards! ♟️

Chess Match Improvements! ♟️


Howdy, everyone!

If you read our last Patch Notes, you're aware that we made some updates on the Chess Match mode! ♟️

What's new?



We heard you, and we're happy to present the new features available on Chess Match:

Same set option



The opponent set could be any set available on Chessarama, which means that could be different from the one you select.
Now, if you want both chess sets to be the same, you can toggle the option "same set as opponent"!



Time control



The time for each match had a default of 5 minutes only. Now, you have more options based on what's better and more comfortable for you to play:


  • 2 min + 1s (2 minutes to finish the match + 1 second increment per move)
  • 5 min + 5s (5 minutes to finish the match + 5 seconds increment per move)
  • 10 min + 0s (10 minutes to finish the match + no increment per move)
  • 15 min + 15s (15 minutes to finish the match + 15 seconds increment per move)

Whenever you open Chess Match, the default time will be 5 min + 5s.



There's more!



We also made new themed boards that you can use on your matches!
Now you have five board options:


  • Default Board
  • Farmer Board (unlocked after 5800 XP)
  • Soccer Board (unlocked after 8400 XP)
  • Samurai Board (unlocked after 10400 XP)
  • Dragon Board (unlocked after 16000 XP)

🔨 Patch Notes - Nov/24


Howdy, everyone!

It's been a long time since our last Patch Notes. In the last months, we've been working on diverse updates, features, and some very cool things 👀

We're happy to finally share some of the updates we worked on!




  • Time options and board selection for Chess Matches;
  • Badge rewards for Leaderboards.






  • When playing with controller, in rare occasions entering the Live Challenges screen will lock interaction;
  • When playing with controller, in rare occasions entering a Chess Match will make pieces disappear;
  • The daily challenge that requires wins without moving the King needs one more win than displayed.
  • It's possible to get locked in Chess Match after finishing and trying to play again. We'll fix ASAP, in the meantime, go back to the Main Menu and start a new Chess Match game and it will work without problems.
