The Chicken Invaders 4 update is now live. It enhances the game's analogue joystick/gamepad support, so you can now control your spaceship using the thumb stick on your Xbox-style controller! Menus can now more easily be navigated with the D-Pad and the "B" button to go back, and cutscenes can be skipped altogether by pressing the 'menu' button (configurable in Options).
Up to 4 controllers are supported, with analogue bindings for players 1 and 2 as default. If you prefer the old digital-style controls (for example, if you also want to use the D-Pad in the game), you can set it up as usual through the keyboard menu (Options -> Controls -> Keyboard -> Player 1/2 Controls).
We've taken great care to upgrade your existing career, stats, achievements, keys, leaderboards, and local high scores (but we couldn't upgrade your in-mission progress, as we explained in our last post).
Warning: Upcoming update!
On Friday we'll be updating Chicken Invaders 4 to bring it up to date with the latest changes from Chicken Invaders 5. We've taken great care to upgrade your existing career, stats, achievements, keys, leaderboards, and local high scores.
However, your in-mission progress will NOT be upgraded. To avoid losing any progress, either finish your current mission by Friday, or set the game to update only on launch and keep Steam in offline mode until your mission is complete.
This is due to technical restrictions which unfortunately cannot be avoided. We'll do our best so that mission progress is preserved in future updates. Thanks for your understanding!
Improved Steam DRM
We've issued a small update for Chicken Invaders 4 on Steam today. We have tweaked Steam DRM's settings to fix some false detections by certain antivirus software. If you've been having any trouble, please give it another try!
