Finally made it ! CHOP is released !

That's it guys ! CHOP is finally out of Early Access, and also available on Switch !
We're so thrilled :)



For the Berserker Edition, you'll have to wait just a bit longer though. Sorry about that, we'll keep you updated.

The full release brings out lots of cool new stuff :

  • We heard the community and you can now choose between automatically sticking to the walls or opt for a more classical wall slide.

  • A tournament mode allowing to play the game up to 16 players !

  • Lots of new arenas for a total of 32.

  • 5 new Grab Kills ;)

  • Possibility to deactivate the Grab Kills :(

  • Gamepad Rumble

  • Possibility to lower blood and guts display, to improve performances on low specs

  • Better behaviour of the A.I

  • Possibility to choose between scores displayed directly during rounds and dedicated score screens between rounds

  • Translation in 8 new languages (Deutsch, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese – Brazilian, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese) on top of French and English.

  • Major code optimization




Also, here's a list of bug fixes that come along the full release :

  • P3 and P4 couldn't valid the next round screen in a game launched without P1 or P2
  • In Last Survivor game mode, the Sudden Death with more than 2 players stopped after only one player got killed
  • The friendly fire was not working properly with a dash or a throw
  • The player could throw his sword through a wall if he was really close to another player
  • The player got stuck for 1 second when grabbing up after a successful Grab Kill
  • Shooting direction was sometimes not right when shooting in a warp
  • Some SFXs were not properly muted
  • When using Telekinesis under specific conditions, the sword couldn't be called back but could be picked up on the ground
  • When using Teleport, the player got stuck in position when quickly pressing Jump + Throw + Wall Direction
  • On very specific conditions, the player could get teleported out of the arena
  • Sometimes the Gun SFX kept on going on and on
  • A column was missing in the stage selection
  • On very specific conditions, the player could disappear in a warp
  • Sometimes the player got stuck on a ledge after a dash in a warp
  • In SkullHunter game mode, dropped skulls kept on moving after a player died in a fan
  • In 1VS All, P1 could not kill player P3 or P4 with a throw
  • In Skull Hunter game mode, the dropped skulls disappeared when the player got killed by a piston
  • When a teammate overlapped an opponent (with friendly fire diasbled), there was a chance that the dash didn't kill
  • With the Neutron Capsule Power-up, no mine were dropped if the player didn't hold his sword
  • In Skull Hunter game mode, the player could get stuck walking on a skull
  • If players grabbed each other on the same frame, they both got killed

Please note that all saves (options, tournaments, unlocked stages) and achievements are being reset for this release.

CHOP release set to september 13th



We're getting close, CHOP will get out of Early Access on Friday 13th !
Icing on the cake, it's getting released on Nintendo Switch too :)
We want to say a huge thank you to those who supported us all the way from the Kickstarter campaign to this whole year of EA. We didn't expect it to be so full of obstacles, but we're really proud to never have given up.

News on development

Hi there,

We are really sorry about the long silence.
For many reasons, the last update got delayed (seeking for an editor to port the game on consoles took us a lot of time and resources and the programmer of the team has to face a personal tragedy).

But don't worry, things are going well for the game : it is now features complete, we just need to finish QA testing on Linux and Mac versions to release the update.

Update 1.0.19

Beta 1.0.19 is here, just in time for Christmas ! It brings some cool stuff, like a new game mode : Skull Hunter.
We can now officially say that all the remaining content (tournament mode, stages, grab kills...) will be added to the game by the end of next february :)

Update to 1.0.9 and free Demo on Windows/Mac/Linux

The Early Access release is coming fast now. We're really excited about it ! A bit nervous too...

Here's the list of improvements and bug fixes this update brings, for both beta and demo versions.
And the very good news is that the demo is finally available for Mac and Linux users ! Yay !

Major update upcoming (Beta 1.0.6)

Hello everyone !

We've been too quiet for some time now, but be sure this was for the best. We were working hard on a big update for the game.

Indeed, we've just updated CHOP to Beta 1.0.6, adding a whole bunch of new features, bug fixes and gameplay improvements. Including a brand new game mode called Last Survivor, a new playable character, Steam achievements, new SFXs and remixed OST, even more game customization options, new bonuses throughout the different game modes, and it goes on and on...

Good news for Mac and Linux users : CHOP is now available on these platforms, for those who have a beta key !


LAST SURVIVOR :

No portals here. Everyone starts the game with the same amount of lives. You loose one every time you die. Once you've no lives left, you're eliminated. To win, you must have the highest kill count.
Be careful, you lose points if you accidentally commit suicide.




ASHE (The aborted experiment) :

CHOP's new character Ashe enters the fray !
After a career in the military, this fierce warrior has been contaminated with a mysterious parasite. Lurking in the shadow, she now works on spreading the gruesome virus on the planet.

We just added 50 Steam achievements for you guys to unlock !

New game customization and bonuses :

As of now, you have the possibility to add invicibility frames when your character spawns, if you want to forbid spawn kills.
You can also disable the auto aim, this is for the Pro Gamers...

Some new bonuses are available :

  • Pulsating heart (Eat this raw human heart to earn an extra life - Last Survivor mode only)
  • Adrenalin shot (A power pack to dash with no limit - All game modes)

    and...

  • Anti-Gravity Prism (An ancien artefact which reverses the arena upside down – All game modes)





Music and sound design :

We were not satisfied enough with the audio of the game. Indeed, the first sound effects were made by Bastien who's really not an expert in this field ^^
So all the sounds have been reworked by our talented Sound Designer, Cédric.
Also, we thought that the musics could benefit from an extra kick. That's why Benjamin remixed the entire soundtrack, with much more emphasis on the heavy metal vibe and composed two brand new tracks !

On top of all, we've fixed a lot of bugs and improved performances across the game. Oh, and we've added French translation.
