Chop It

v1.1.0 - Control the Sensei in your beatmap!

v1.1.0 - 2019-05-21

It's been a while!

Today we bring an update that adds even more flexibility to how you map songs in Chop It. Now you have new options (Jump Left and Jump Right) in the Mapping Station for triggering the Sensei to jump Left or Right in his path within the Pagoda. This can work with or without Auto Sensei Jumps (formerly Sensei Movement) enabled in the song selection screen. The goal is to give you the ability to move the Sensei when/where you want in any custom beatmap.

v1.0.12 - Polished SFX made by professionals (not us)!

v1.0.12 - 2018-01-16

This week we partnered with local audio studio NPALL Audio in Nashville to polish our hit/miss and ninja star sound effects. Check out NPALL Audio here:
https://www.npallaudio.com/

The new effects feel great in-game and, as always, the volume can be adjusted in the Settings menu.

We also made a very minor change to the labeling of our menu buttons. 'My Songs' is now 'Imported Songs' to make the intention of that feature more clear.

Enjoy!

v1.0.11 - New 'Hit' SFX

v1.0.11 - 2018-01-04

Very minor update.

This week we swapped out the board break and cinder break sound effects.
Since our first iteration on SFX, we've really struggled to find sounds that give you satisfying feedback without distracting from the music that is playing. So much that we went through 2 version numbers before deciding to release!

Traditional sounds of chopping boards and breaking concrete are just too harsh and too detailed for them to feel natural in a rhythm game. So, here we have our second pass.

The sound effects come from the "sticky" sound of axes chopping wood, and heavy sacks of powder dropping on the floor. The sounds are present enough to give you noticeable feedback, but are not sharp or detailed, making sure they do not distract from the music. I'm liking them better than our first pass so far, and the feel is similar to what you see in other rhythm games today.

v1.0.9 - Oculus/WMR Comfort Tweaks, Sensei Movement Overrides!

v1.0.9 - 2018-12-18

This update is all about gameplay comfort. We made a number of adjustments to make Oculus Rift and WMR feel right. The majority of this game was developed on one HTC Vive, so forgive us for getting to this a bit late.

We also are including a highly requested feature, which is the ability to make the Sensei stay in place regardless of the song and beatmap. We'll discuss more about how that works below.

Features:
* HMD Comfort Tweaks
- Oculus Rift
-- Throw ninja star action moved from thumbstick click to A/X button
-- Hands default to more comfortable rotation on first time launch. This does not override your hand rotation settings if you already have one saved.
- Windows MR
-- Haptics have been tweaked slightly. They are a bit subtle, but they are working. If you're still getting absolutely no haptics, see this link (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/mixed-reality/updating-your-steamvr-application-for-windows-mixed-reality#haptics)
- HMD-specific tooltips on main menu screen

* Sensei Movement Override is live!
- After selecting a beatmap, you'll see a new On/Off toggle above the song description. The toggle defaults to the value stored in the beatmap file, but can be changed by hitting On or Off with a ninja star. This means you can make 360 degree beatmaps stationary and vice-versa. Changing the setting with this toggle will not overwrite the value stored in the file.
- Each beatmap will now have 2 possible leaderboards. One for each option of the Sensei Movement Override. So if it is set to On, you'll be placed on the leaderboard with others who have played with the setting On, and same for Off.

* Each leaderboard now shows a maximum of 20 scores, previously was 10 scores.

Bug Fixes:
* Fixed the beatmap selection to where you don't have to "double click" beatmaps to activate them and unhide the Start button.

v1.0.8 - Sound FX Update - Boom. Bap. Pow.

v1.0.8 - 2018-12-04

Features:
* We now have sound effects for the following actions:
- In Menu
-- Ninja Star throw
-- Ninja Star impact
- In Game
-- Board hit
-- Cinderblock hit
-- Item missed "whoosh"
* We now have volume settings (0-10) for each of the above categories. If you're used to playing without the hit/miss sound effects, this gives you an easy way to turn them off.

We know that this was a big one for a lot of you, and we hope that this first pass makes the game more enjoyable for you. We'll continue tweaking the sounds, and would appreciate your feedback about which sounds you're liking and which aren't quite where they need to be yet.

As always, join us in Discord to let us know what you think!

v1.0.7 - No Room Left Behind

v1.0.7 - 2018-11-27

It's been a month! Sorry! I was in Asia!

Features
* In Settings, you can now adjust the depth, or distance from center, of the targets where items will land during gameplay. This is in addition to the existing setting that lets you adjust height. The goal here is to support rooms and reaches of all sizes, and to give you the exact gameplay experience you want. Want the items to land right up in your dern grill? Go for it. Want to have to lunge forward to hit items? Live your best life.

v1.0.6 - hi dOGGy

v1.0.6 - 2018-10-17

Features:
* We now support OGG audio files for imported tracks.

Bug Fixes:
* v1.0.5 introduced a bug with Chapter 4 Hard. That beatmap has been restored to its original glory.

v1.0.5 - Quality Over Whatever

v1.0.5 - 2018-10-12

Another quick one!

Optimizations:
* We found some easy wins with graphics quality in VR. Expect a smoother and more detailed experience. It looks good...it feels good...because it IS good.

v1.0.4 - The Pineapple Update

v1.0.4 - 2018-10-09

Short and sweet!

Bug Fixes:
* The target boxes in the Mapping Station now appear at the height of the targets in your Settings. Now everyone can map in EXTREME comfort!

Thanks AmbassadorPineapple for the bug report in Discord!
