- Fixed bug that caused a "loss of consciousness" message to sometimes display when ending an investigation even if you didn't actually lose consciousness.
- Fixed bug that sometimes caused the alerts to seem random, due to the message system being overloaded if there were too many alters occurring too frequently.
The EU's Article 13
Since the EU has now passed Article 13, placing restrictions on gameplay videos unless the developer has explicitly given permission, I hereby grant permission to make gameplay videos of this game for Youtube, Twitch, or any other venue. In fact, please do.
New build with poltergeists
The new build has poltergeists in a few locations, although more adjustments will be needed. The help section doesn't currently include a section on poltergeists, which will also be added later.
New build
The current build should fix additional problems with ghost spawning and similar gameplay issues.
Hopefully the next build will finally have one or more new locations.
New build with important fixes
- Fixed a severe bug that sometimes prevented any entities from spawning after a certain point.
- Fixed glitch that seemed to use old rank point levels rather than the new, lower ones. So when you play the game again, you may find yourself suddenly promoted (meaning you should have been promoted before).
- Mining tunnel surfaces are now procedural, with mathematically-generated rock veins that look like they extend through the material in three dimensions. Some of the wooden board surfaces are now partly randomized, although others still need to be updated.
- Shadow LOD now has smooth transitions rather than instantly popping in.
- The "Anomaly Radar" (available at upper ranks) had previously displayed electrical appliances as anomalies (since they emit electromagnetic radiation), which has now been fixed. So that refrigerator no longer shows up as a ghost.
- Some other fixes and additions, including a wondrous bit of apparel at the final rank.
New volumetric procedural surfaces in mining tunnels
Work-in-progress: new surface for mining tunnels, produced mathematically on-the-fly so that the pattern is extremely varied and volumetric, based on 3D coordinates so it looks more like actual rock veins, although right now this isn't also the case for surface normal mapping.
The top image shows how the color pattern extends seamlessly from the wall to the ceiling because the pattern is calculated based on 3D coordinates, treated as a fully 3D pattern like actual rock veins extending through a volume.
New build
-- New and (hopefully) improved intro when starting a new game.
-- Hand-held devices no longer display a shadow (which some people interpreted as the player's shadow).
A known bug was discovered but not fixed yet: If the player becomes even slightly faint and then quits the investigation, the "you lost consciousness" screen comes up even though the player didn't lose consciousness. No harm is done by this (you still get full credit for evidence, etc), but it may be confusing. A likely cause is known and so hopefully this will be fixed by the next build.
New build
New build with following changes:
- Another significant adjustment to rank requirements (a lot lower than previously) which means some players may find themselves being promoted suddenly after their next investigation after updating.
- The amount needed for the next rank is now shown as a percentage (e.g. "You are now 50% of the way to the next rank") after each investigation, as requested by many players.
- Another RNG adjustment which should make it easier to find evidence.
- Some other adjustments and fixes.
- A rare but severe bug was discovered: on rare occasions a location may simply not have any ghost spawns at all after a certain point. Since it's so rare, it's difficult to determine what causes it, but players can avoid it as follows: If you can't detect any EMF anomalies after a few minutes, just quit the investigation and come back, which resets the spawn parameters.
New Device - The "Anomaly Radar"
The latest build includes a new device: Melvin Gumm's "Anomaly Radar", which displays a radar-esque representation of the location of nearby anomalies. The device is available at one of the upper ranks.

Important fix of the ranking information, and a new device
This update fixes a problem in the rank information (the new, lower, requirements weren't being used, and many of the descriptions were munged, and probably had been for some time). That should be fixed now.
A new device was also added: a combination EMF meter and temperature gauge (based on the real-life "MelMeter", including its red LED display), available at some of the higher ranks. This device makes things more convenient since both long-range gauges are bundled into a single device (but you still get credit for both EMF and temperature anomalies separately); and it also reduces the total number of inventory items at higher ranks, making inventory more manageable and opening up another slot.
There should be an additional new device available either later today or tomorrow.
