NEWS #2 - 16 BIT NIGHTS
Hello players,
We have some important news regarding our 16 BIT NIGHTS company's future.
01 Welcome Back, Commander
The game has been released. We also provided a series of updates after release, and the game is now rock solid with a very positive rating. Unfortunately, the actual sales were under our expectations, and my partner and I had a lot of arguing regarding this, so we decided to "part ways," which brings me to the next point. You can check out the game here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3015620/Welcome_Back_Commander/
02 NEW GAME #1
My partner will work on a new game without me. He will use the artwork I made for previous Chromosome Evil/Welcome Back Commander games, and he will also use the 16 BIT NIGHTS branding for publishing, so even though we parted ways, we are still working together to some extent. He plans on experimenting with co-op multiplayer within an extraction squad-based type of gameplay. More details soon.
03 NEW GAME #2
I will also work on a game, but I don't want to give out spoilers yet other than it will be a new IP with unique squad-based gameplay. I will also be working on this one with a new partner. In addition, this year, I will also try to focus more on our YouTube channel and make full playthroughs of our games with commentary.
04 NEW GAME #3
In collaboration with Real Heroes Studio, we would like to announce a big demo update on Desolated District on 27 April. This is a fresh take for us since it's our first project as a collaborative effort with another developer studio. We have a minimal involvement rezumed to environment storytelling design, graffiti sprites, polish interface stage, design consultations, and marketing consultation. The game is a 3D survival crafting with a nice magical touch within a Kowloon Walled City theme. You can Wishlist it here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2454070/Desolated_District/
05 Lovecraftian Days Fest
We would also like to announce that the Lovecraftian Days steam festival hosted by Fulqrum publisher has started, and Welcome Back, Commander, along with Chromosome Evil and Chromosome Evil 2, are participating. To celebrate this, we put together a new trailer that highlights some of the Lovecraftian-inspired bosses you can encounter in Welcome Back, Commander. NEWS - 16 BIT NIGHTS
Hi,
We have BIG news and a call to action.
Let's start.
1. Main Project "Welcome Back, Commander"
Well it happened, we remained out of funding at the beginning of this November but after serious consideration, we decided to push forward by using our personal economies which should allow us to extend development time until the middle of Q1 2025.
"Welcome Back, Commander" is set to have 2-3 hours of playthrough but high replay value and high production value.
We are still in discussion on what the price will be but as a general idea, the game will cost a minimum 5$ - a maximum of 10$.
We also need to decide what secondary monetization to have, some possibilities are still on the table, maybe you players can help us out with a vote?
A.
we release the game for 5$ and if we get enough attention on the game we we will keep updating the main game version but increase the price gradually up to 20$ to cover development costs.
B.
we release the game for 5$ and we also add one supporter DLC for 30$, it will have MINIMAL cosmetic content but it will be 100% optional as in just for the people who enjoyed our games to support us and if enough support on this DLC then we will keep pushing free content on the main game.
C.
we release the game for 5$ and we add 3 content DLCs(extra maps, extra endings and other content) for 10$ each DLC.
CALL TO ACTION
Meantime if you want to support us, smash that wishlist button like u love it:
So, a couple of weeks ago we met the solo dev from "Real Heroes Studio", he had a game called "Desolated District" in which we saw potential, and after some ideas exchange, we decided to help him out in his endeavors.
This will be an experimental collaboration for "16 Bit Nights". We will contribute to "Real Heroes Studio" with Marketing consultancy, environmental storytelling design, and some other minor investments.
If the experiment will turn out to have a positive outcome then we will consider investing in other small indie developers in the future.
CALL TO ACTION
You can smash that wishlist button and find this magical open-world-survival-crafting game on Steam here:
To celebrate all these events & milestones we are doing one BIG giveaway.

CALL TO ACTION
As some of you know we also work on a new game "Welcome Back, Commander" which is the last installment from the "Chromosome Evil" franchise and will mark the end of our trilogy.
Also, its a prequel.
How can you help ? SMASH that WISHLIST button Commander!
It is a great honor for us to announce the re-release of the Tactical Squad War bundle on Steam with Chromosome Evil alongside TouchDimensionInteractive (Strain Tactics) and now joining in the famous flash game series from Toge Productions ( Infectonator: Survivors)
This bundle will offer you three tactical squad command experiences by placing you in command of a strike team within a hostile environment.
Infectonator: Survivors - "Infectonator : Survivors" is a Randomized Permadeath Survival Simulator that combines RTS, Tower Defense, Roguelike, and Management-Simulation gameplay. The goal is to lead a group of survivors in a struggle to stay alive and find rescue in a zombie apocalyptic world.
Strain Tactics - This is a real-time-with-pause tactical game, where you command a squad of soldiers to liberate earth from an alien infestation. Using your helibase, deploy your custom squad and provide air support. Remember to keep your crew sane and motivated while staying clear of alien contamination!
Chromosome Evil - Dive deep into this Lovecraft-inspired RTS survival. Assemble your team using different classes, skills, and weaponry. It's up to your squad to survive the onslaught of nightmares that are surely coming your way. Will you find the source of the darkness?
And if you still have any energy left, SMASH that wishlist button for our upcoming game "Welcome Back, Commander"
"Welcome Back, Commander" is the final entry from the Chromosome Evil Franchise and Trilogy, and its a prequel.
What type of game will it be? Well, our funds will end this winter so we thought very carefully about the direction we will be going. Welcome Back Commander - will remove some of the complexity and will only take the essence of the Chromosome Evil franchise. We aim for a lot shorter gameplay time but with very high-reliability potential. Something that can provide a sweet capsule of fun on any rainy day.
Also, did we mention that the teaser has 5 minutes? :)) It was a big collaborative effort with people from different communities who donated voice-acting and support so we really hope you will enjoy it because it reflects the mood of this new game: Atmospheric value + 90thies action movie feels.
Any help in smashing that Wishlist button is highly appreciated!
Regards, Cristi P. - 16 BIT NIGHTS

DLC#4 - the final DLC is out
Hey Players,
It's been a long journey for us, a hard road but at the same time a very pleasant one, we managed to make a creation out of passion that many of you enjoyed.
Milestones achieved recap We had 5 content DLC milestones and we managed to reach 2 of them and some bonus ones.
Milestone 1 - DLC 1 - extra content, new balance, new weapons, and the addition of a basic crafting system. We released this DLC for free because you supported us on our release date so much that you deserve this and it was amazing to give something back to the community.
Milestone 2 - DLC 2 - map editor - we released this one based on player suggestions, we know that not many of you tried it out but we hope that the ones that did had fun doing it.
The rest of the 3 milestones were not achieved but...
BONUS - DLC 3 - Cheat editor - we released this one because we had a person who downloaded a third-party trainer with a virus + we had a few people who wanted to finish the game but found it to hard. This one was released close to the holiday so we thought it would be cool if we consider this our gift to you and release it for free.
Present day:
We now released our fourth and final DLC.
It contains a PDF file with the following table of contents:
Part I 1.1 Reason for creating this game 1.2 What was our inspirations 1.3 How long did it take to develop 1.4 What are the core design elements of the game foundation 1.5 What went bad 1.6 Release results Part II 2.1 Who is the ancient one? 2.2 What easter eggs did we hide in the game? 2.3 Which one is the canon ending? 2.4 What happened to the main protagonist's brother? (spoilers) 2.5 How many endings does the game have? (spoilers) 2.6 Is there a sequel? 2.7 Tips Part III 3.1 Game scenario map
It's a post-mortem of Chromosome Evil alongside some Q&A regarding the game's official lore.
DISCLAIMER: This DLC is recommended only if you are a FAN of the original game and/or want to support the developers.
This being said, after 2 years since the release, we have not seen any critical bugs that have not been fixed by now in the Bug reports and our funds are almost exhausted while the game sales are now pretty low, so sadly we announce this is our last update on Chromosome Evil.
We hope from the bottom of our hearts that you had a wonderful experience with our creation and that this game that we leave behind will still make new players happy over time.
Now, the future is still bright, we are 15 days away from releasing the sequel and we truly hope that the the experience you had with Chromosome Evil will be doubled in fun within Chromosome Evil 2.
We are small indies so we have no time or funding for marketing and at the same time we don't want our creativity to be limited by an external publisher, meaning we rely on community shares and exposure so please Feel free to share the news AND smash that wishlist button, smash it hard, aggressively, and with a passion similar to how we sculpt this game
