Added Chinese localization;
Reworked the rating system - now your position in the Leaderboard depends on the level of your Jarl’s House instead of total Influence value;
Fixed the bug with music not playing in the global map view.
Update 1.3 is live
Greetings! Today we are releasing an important update, because it finally adds a final goal to the game! Also it expands the in-game borders and gives you an entire Newfoundland (known as Vinland to the ancient norsemen) to explore.
So, here are the changes:
Added global map of Vinland, currently known as Newfoundland;
Added 5 distinct native tribes (with visual style based on actual Abenaki and Mikmaq cultures) and possibility to make contacts with them;
Implemented the missions system: natives can give you various tasks.
Added the Trust mechanic: as you complete missions, you gain more trust in relations with certain native tribe. When your trust parameter reaches 100, you can subjugate this tribe, persuading them to become your protectorate.
Rebalanced ways of gaining Influence;
Added 4 new achievements;
Fixed an issue when a native raid happened too soon after the beginning of the game, when you even hadn’t any means to defend your tiny settlement.

Patch 1.2
Greetings! The Update 1.2 is out, so behold the patch notes:
- Improved mechanics of the native attacks - now with real natives who have health bar and must be defeated before they breach your walls and pillage your settlement;
- Improved palisade and watch tower: now palisade has hit points and thus protects your settlement, while the watch tower inflicts damage to enemies. Damage or hit points increase when you upgrade corresponding building;
- Fixed an issue when players could not gain some achievements properly;
- Improved camera control;
- Added Steam Cloud support, so since now the game updates will not be resetting your progress;
- Increased size of the interface elements;
- Fixed some amount of various minor bugs.
Please note that the next patch (1.3) will be larger and will add a global map, native tribes, missions and improved balance!
Development Diary - Current plans and changes of balance
Hello, conquerors of the New World! Currently we are working on the next update, that will totally rework the behaviour of natives. In the next version (that can be expected pretty soon, by the way), angry natives will be represented not just as inanimate events, but as real army - so you’ll have to defeat them by increasing HP of your palisade as well as damage of your tower (we have armed our brave watchmen with bows). And this is only the first step towards the enigmatic realm of strategic depth! The second one will bring you global map, native chiefs and missions.
But there is one side effect of all these changes. Such significant work demands serious changes of balance. So, when the next patch will be ready, it will reset all your progress, and you’ll have to start from the beginning. But don’t worry, because you’ll surely find such new run more interesting - with refreshed balance and new challenges (and with new chances to get into the top of leaderboard for everyone).
At the stage of Early Access such changes are inevitable from time to time, but every adjustment of balance means that it just becomes outdated in comparison with new, improved and expanded gameplay. Also, feel free to tell us what do you think about current balance and high score system. How important is the leaderboard for you? Do you want it to remain in the game, or you’d prefer purely in-game goals, such as conquest, domination and getting through the storyline? Let’s discuss!
Patch 1.1
Our team proudly presents the first update of this year! It is not very large, but in parallel we are already working on the next one, in which you will behold much more significant changes! Here is a small teasing clue for you - the word lnue'gati from a language, which is used in the land where the game takes place!
So, what do we have today?
Added native attacks: now watch tower and palisade do really matter! Improve them to raise your chances to detect natives and drive them away.
Added three new achievements;
Updated and improved the high scores system - now it is more protected from cheaters, and also it does not include inactive players.
Grand New Year Statement form Developers
Hello, ladies and gentlemen! It's pleasure to see that this game was accepted with such a massive enthusiasm. At the same time, we are receiving many critical responses. True, this game is in Early Access, so not all of planned features are currently available - but when time will come, they will appear in the game. Yes, there are not so much interesting economic strategies nowadays, and we aim to correct it by developing our own one - but this is a long process. We could work on it covertly, but we preferred to show it you at the earlier stage, so your feedback and critical responses could help us to develop it in the most adequate direction.
Remember story of No Man's Sky that initially fell short of some players' expectations, but then was improved greatly. Or see the policy of such companies as Electronic Arts of Paradox Entertainment, who traditionally use to release a game and then gradually improve it. So it's rather common practice in the world of game industry.
We are sorry is someone is disappointed by what they have seen - but, anyways, we have big plans for this game and work on the updates will begin just after the new year. All your opinions will be taken into account, and together we will make the best viking strategy. Happy New Year, fellow world conquerors!
An important note for those who failed to download the game!
If you had bought the game in the first minutes after the release and failed to download it - restart your Steam client and try again! There was some minor issue that was quickly fixed.

Greetings! Finally, the game is released. Please note that it's currently in Early Access and lacks some important additional features - they will be implemented step-by-step in the next updates (read the info about early access on the game page for more details). Anyways, at its current stage it still can bring much fun (our testers, who frantically tried to beat each others' score, can confirm this). So enjoy the game and wait for the new updates!
