CHUCHEL, the new game from the creators of Machinarium, Botanicula and Samorost, is coming to Windows PC and Mac on March 7! 🍒

For those of you who already fell in love with CHUCHEL's irresistibly wacky music - the amazing soundtrack from DVA (+ digital artbook) will also be available on Steam ;)
First, let me apologize for the period of silence - we've just been a bit too busy working on this new game of ours. The finish line is so close! Also - we'll be making an important announcement later this week. So stay tuned ;)
Anyway, here's a tiny little appetizer for you. Digging deep into our bottomless collection of silly GIFs and images, we realized that there are actually 2 levels starring frogs in CHUCHEL! Why? No idea. Apparently, in our minds, frogs are odd bouncy creatures perfectly suitable for cherry rescue missions.
Anybody wants to guess what is that announcement about? 🤔
They call them 'the Oscars of video games'. It's an incredible honor to get a single IGF nomination, but CHUCHEL is our 5th game nominated for this prestigious award!
Who would've thought our minimalistic take on comedy adventure could get an 'Excellence in Visual Art' nomination. Hats off to Jaromir Plachy and the entire team. Here's what Jara, the lead designer and artist, had to say: 'There are lots of beautiful games this year and, to be honest, I didn't believe we would score a nomination with our slightly crazy CHUCHEL. As an artist, I'm obviously very happy we're in the Visual Art category.'
The ceremony will be held on March 21st during GDC in San Francisco. Wish us great luck - competing against the likes of gorgeous Cuphead or very special Night in the Woods won't be easy.
Massive congratulations to all nominees & see you at GDC!

CHUCHEL VS. 2018 | #11
Happy New Year!!
What a year that was for video game fans. We've played many wonderful and unique indie titles - Gorogoa, Cuphead, Hidden Folks or Reigns: Her Majesty, just to name a few, as well as some amazingly crafted and surprisingly innovative big titles with Zelda completely stealing the show.
Can 2018 be even better? From what we've seen on festivals around the world, it's going to be a fantastic year. And of course, if you're into Amanita's games, there's a very special cherry on top of all that for you - CHUCHEL is just a few weeks away from finally landing on your computing machines! And who knows, there might be some new announcements as well...
We wish you all the best for 2018, loads of new and memorable gaming experiences and as many laughs and smiles as possible. Chuchel will take care of the smiles ;)
To help you maintain the festive mood, we're bringing you a lovely Christmas wish from Jaromir Plachy, the creator of CHUCHEL, and DVA, your favorite Czech music duo. Enjoy!

We'd like to thank you for the incredible ongoing support. We've been very busy this year finishing CHUCHEL, travelling around the world, and only a few weeks from now CHUCHEL is finally going to land on your computers. We also can't wait to show you more of the stuff we've been working on, so please stay tuned!
Happy holidays,

CHUCHEL VS. Snowman | #10
♫ Do you want to build a snowman? ♫
Of course you do. I mean, who doesn't?
As you've probably figured out, Chuchel is a very playful being and a rather unlucky one. It's not easy to get hurt while building a snowman, as long as you're not a cute ball of mess...
IT'S ALIVE!
There you go. It's time to go outside and build your own Snowchel! If that's what you're actually going to do, please send us a photo of your amazing creation. We'll make it famous! Well, at least on our social media channels.
Also, hey, Christmas is coming. We've got some lovely festive stuff coming up next Monday (new video!!), but to those of you who celebrate on 24th...
I know you're used to silly GIFs, but this time I've got a little secret worth sharing with you!
It's always exciting to learn about the origins of certain worlds and characters. That's why I've been going through dozens of old sketches and designs that were created in the early stages of CHUCHEL's development, but then I actually stumbled upon something even more interesting...
Just look at this picture!
This isn't Chuchel, no. But it kinda looks like him. The eyes, short limbs, that silly curl and missing teeth - all of the key features are there. I just had to ask Jaromir Plachy, the creator of Botanicula and CHUCHEL to find out where this creature comes from. Here's what he had to say:
"I found this in the deepest abyss of my computer. These are character designs for a non-existent animated series that was supposed to be set in a forest and a pub. They are suspiciously reminiscent of Chuchel... He's probably been in my head for some time and needed to make his way out. "
This picture comes from the time when Jaromir was working on his first full-length game Botanicula which came out in April 2012. That makes it more presumably more than 6 years old.
Pretty cool, huh? Makes you wonder how many characters are still hiding in Jaromir's fantastic mind. Seems like there's a lot to look forward to!
Let us know if you would be interested in more of these insights! There are quite a few stories to tell...
That's just what I was hearing for the past 2 days. Being stuck in Amsterdam on my trip from this year's Fun & Serious Festival in Bilbao because of heavy snowing, I felt miserable for being unable to provide you with the regular Monday dose of GIF goodness. My sincerest apologies!
Anyway, Chuchel is finally back home in great shape and ready to make you grin once again. This time his enemy opponent is very hard. Literally.
What would you do?
[1] cut down the tree
[2] climb the tree
[3] go away and drown in tears
How did that elusive cherry end up on that tree? That's something you're going to find out in CHUCHEL quite soon!
The world already knows about Chuchel's unmatched passion for cherries, but he loves all sorts of... consumables. Like a true gourmet, he's eager to feast on frogs, carps, paintings and stuff you've never even heard of.
All of this ridiculous food snobbery fades away on December 4th.
You already know Chuchel is an amazing being capable of pretty much anything, but just like you or me, he can't fly. And as long as you don't have a specific brand of energy drink at your disposal, you're going to need either a unicorn or a dolphin to leave the ground. Or a bird, at least.
Hold on to your hat!!
It almost seems natural to say this bird is USELESS, but he's always there to save Chuchel from falling into the endless void. And that, dear cherry lovers, is truly honorable.
Next Monday is going to be special - Chuchel is about to eat something. Are you brave enough to guess what?
