Cinderstone Online

Patch 0.218 is live, Cinderstone Adventurers!

Even though it's a smaller update, it's an important one! Here's what we've been working on:

1️⃣ We're tackling the persistent dungeon issue where they cease to function after a while. We're hopeful this will be the last of it. If you still encounter empty dungeons, please report it.

2️⃣ Weapon enchantment is back in Cinderstone City! Head to the blacksmith to get your weapons powered up.

3️⃣ We've temporarily added a Copper node in Wellington near the bandits for your mining pleasure.

4️⃣ Welcome to Dungeon Directions 101! We've added initial support for dungeon directions, similar to quest instructions. No more guesswork while dungeon crawling!

5️⃣ We've attempted to fix the issue with mages being unable to progress in their quests due to a specific skill. If you're still encountering this issue, let us know!

6️⃣ Dungeon 3 has been added in Wellington, which is now a required part of the storyline. Beware, adventurers: you can't skip this dungeon. It's still a bit rough around the edges, with broken cutscene animations and an under-equipped boss. But fear not, fixes are on the way! Meanwhile, enjoy discovering level 19 and 17 armors. The hard version currently yields the same items, but we'll be tweaking this soon.

Thanks for your continued support, adventurers! Your feedback is invaluable, so keep it coming. Enjoy the new update and happy adventuring! 🏰🐉🔮

Launch Delay: An Update from Cinderstone Online

Hello Adventurers,

We're sure many of you have been eagerly awaiting the clock to strike 19:00 for our scheduled early access launch. Unfortunately, we've hit a small bump in the road.

While we've been busy preparing Cinderstone Online for you, we've encountered an unexpected delay from Valve's end. According to their feedback, our game "doesn't appear to currently support online gameplay," which we find rather amusing since Cinderstone Online is, indeed, an MMORPG and inherently online with cooperative, PvP, and MMO gameplay.

This comes as a surprise as we've previously passed review for the playtest build, which undeniably demonstrated the online nature of our game.

We'd like to assure all our patient Adventurers that we're working closely with Valve to clarify this confusion and resolve the issue. Regrettably, this does mean that our 19:00 launch may be postponed.

We're tremendously sorry for this delay, and we'll provide updates as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, we continue to work diligently on various bug fixes.

Your support and understanding are very much appreciated. Thank you, Adventurers, and stay tuned for more updates!

Adventurers, the Next Chapter Begins: Cinderstone Online Early Acces

Hello Adventurers! We have finally reached the end of our stress test! We're filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who participated, provided bug reports, and offered feedback.

So, what's up next? We're getting our hands dirty addressing the most critical bugs from your reports and also setting the stage for some exciting new features, such as: Map Completion, Monster Collectible Cards, Weapon Crafting, and 3v3 Arenas.

We're aiming to launch Early Access tonight at 19:00 as we previously announced. However, Valve hasn't given us the final nod yet, and there may be some minor hitches. Rest assured, we'll keep you in the loop!

A quick heads up: if you buy the game from our official website, we won't immediately provide the Steam key. You'll receive it further down the line, just before our official summer release.

Is the Early Access the real game launch? Not quite. Steam Early Access will still be a beta phase. You'll be adventuring in a test server environment, complete with all the bugs and potential exploits that come with it. This phase is vital to us as it allows us to gather your feedback and collaboratively build the best MMORPG!

As for the duration of Early Access, expect it to last a few months. With many of our development tools in place speeding up content release, we're ready to bring you new features quicker than ever. Look forward to a roadmap coming soon!

Once again, a big thank you to all of you, our valued Adventurers!

Chapter 2 update!

https://cinderstoneonline.com/chapter-2-update-and-delay-patch/

Chapter 2 update overview

It’s been a little over a month since the release of the Founder’s Packs and we’ve been hard at work on various updates and patches. While we initially planned to have most of these out by now, we ended up running into some unexpected delays. In this post, we’ll give you an overview of what’s been going on behind the scenes and provide some insight into our development process.

First off, we want to apologize for the delay in getting these updates out. We know many of you are eager to see new content and features, and we’re working as quickly as possible to get them to you. However, development is never an exact science and sometimes things take longer than expected.

Server

One of the biggest delays has been with our server infrastructure. When we launched Cinderstone Online Closed beta, we did so with a completely new server setup. However, this also meant that there were a lot of new things that needed to be ironed out.

We’ve been working hard to optimize our servers and address any stability issues that have arisen. We’re also continuing to work on scaling up our infrastructure so that it can better handle spikes in player traffic. This is a complex process and it’s taking longer than we had hoped, but we’re making good progress.

Rewards

When we were reexamining what’s needed to make the game better, we also noticed some things that needed to be changed. One of the biggest issues is rewards – especially rewards for playing different activities. We are completely revamping word-boss rewards, dungeon rewards, and grinding rewards. This includes adding new items and power-ups to those from world exploring.

Caravan system

With our new caravan system, we will introduce a mission system and an easier way to find guards who can help you defend your caravans. We will also provide an automatic payment system so that guards are compensated when they successfully complete missions.

Dungeons

We’re thinking about changing the dungeon system by adding a level system. This way you can unlock new levels for the same dungeon to get better rewards. Every dungeon will also give you a unique item that will help power up your character!

Classes customization

We value customization, so we’re adding a new way to change your build. In the coming weeks, we’ll add a new gem system and elemental defences for attack points. This will give you more ways to have your character stand out and be uniquely customized in the way you want!

Rogue and classes balance

The rogue class has been lacking skills, so we’ve finally added the missing abilities to them. We also took a look at some balance for the basic classes and fixed anything that needed changing.
