Heroic Reset and Stuck Issues Fix

The maintenance team will close down the server at 4:30AM, PDT (6:30AM, CDT), March 17th ( Check your timezone here: http://www.timeanddate.com/ ) to fix the Heroic reset and 99.99% loading stuck. Expected offline time is 1 hour.

Relevant compensation packages will go out shortly after the update completes. Thank you for the patience and understanding.


Polish & Russian Players Blocked

Publisher Aggro Games hosts City of Steam in Poland, Russia and CIS. They require Mechanist to block users in these regions from accessing any City of Steam service other than their official site.

Because of this, we are sorry to inform Russian, Polish and CIS players that City of Steam is not available for you in English or any other language except Polish and Russian.

Version 2.4.1 Update Notes

Changes:



  • Lowered Shilling price of potions;
  • Now World Chat unlocks at level 10;
  • Heroic Challenges added to Multi-Dungeon Room. Players will enter into Multi-Dungeon group finder before accessing Heroic Challenges;
  • Multi-Dungeon challenge failure won’t deduct attempt chances now;
  • Changed completion goal of Fort Atlas from killing mobs to slaying three Wizards;
  • Potions that cannot be used due to level restrictions will not be automatically placed in the shortcut bar;
  • Characters will automatically pick up Shillings during auto-combat now;
  • Heroic challenges now display after normal challenges;
  • Increased damage of Risen/Brood Tower in Company War;
  • Risen/Brood Tower cannot be healed anymore in Company War;
  • Increased damage of Wilderness Boss;
  • Increased Mob difficulty after level 50;
  • Lowered damage of lvl 6 Songbreaker;
  • Optimized loading of maps;
  • Optimized character ability loading;
  • Optimized assets loading of Asynchronous PvP.

Fixes:



  • Fixed a bug where no ships are visible during Cargo Delivery;
  • Fixed a bug where leveling up could cause game freezes;
  • Fixed a bug where quitting Multi-Dungeons could cause a crash;
  • Fixed a bug where chat channel switch didn’t work in Multi-Dungeon room;
  • Fixed a bug where Multi-Dungeon list could automatically open up;
  • Fixed a bug where lock displayed incorrectly after re-entering Multi-Dungeon room;
  • Fixed a bug where Multi-Dungeon room loading icon failed to display;
  • Fixed a bug where quests completed but main quest didn’t update;
  • Fixed a bug where identical event icons might show up in-game;
  • Fixed a bug where difficulty of Fort Atlas was not correctly set;
  • Fixed a bug where price display might be wrong in Daily Goals;
  • Fixed a bug where “Join” displayed incorrectly on the minimized interface of Tourney;
  • Fixed a bug where “bye” display incorrectly on the minimized interface of Tourney;
  • Fixed a bug where there was no system notification before Tourney started;
  • Fixed a bug where enter window popped up even when a player was defeated in Tourney;
  • Fixed a bug where joining Multi-Dungeon might fail after clicking on system message;

Servers Going Offline Soon

As a new patch will come out soon, we'll close down the servers at 6:30 AM, PDT (8:30 AM, CDT), March 13th (Check your timezone here: http://www.timeanddate.com/) to complete the update. Expected offline time should be 1-2 hours, thank you for your patience.

New Server Events

As some severe issue happened to the Steam version during the new server launch on March 3rd, we had to delay it til 6th. All Steam players were 3 days behind the new server events comparing to others. Our apologies go to all Steam users.

But we're not putting this on one side, the sure thing is we'll calculate Steam player stats 3 days after all events come to an end, which means all Steam players got 3 more days to compete. All rewards will be manually sent to mailbox in-game after the calculation is done.

Great Start on Steam



First off, we’d like to thank you all for hitting the Steam page. We never expected so many players swarming into the game after its launch and the servers became crowded in a short period of time, requiring us to undergo some maintenance in order to make it stable again.

We’re still a young and small team, improving and learning, and also filled with a desire to be respected in this industry. Thank you all for your great patience and understanding towards all those bugs around the game.

What’s coming in March



As the new version 2.4 is still a bit buggy, the dev team will spend most of their time on bugfixing, polishing things up, and ultimately, providing a better gaming experience. To be more specific, we’ll invest sufficient efforts on enhancing new 50-60 level content and systems (including Boss Raid, Challenges, etc).

Although there are loads of bugs to hunt down (QA has also becoming busier) and heaps of features to work on, we are also looking forward to seeing some great ideas coming in - Don’t hesitate to post up and let us know your thoughts.

City of Steam up on Steam!

Hello everyone,

Finally, the long-time promised Steam client is ready to go up on Valve’s Steam platform, after over a month's preparations, we've made CoS available on Steam today, along with 3 Steam-exclusive bundles (Purple , Orange and Solid Gold) that we believe Steam players will love. Thank you all who backed us up during the Greenlight campaign.

Going with the Steam version is a stablized version 2.4, it brought in some really great content such as new level content (lvl 50-60), enhanced gaming experience, improved features, some restructured events etc.

Also, we've confirmed with Valve that the clinet had some issues when the game was live a few hours ago. Now they've resolved those issues and all should be ableo to play the game now, if you re still having install problem, restart your Steam program should allow access.

Once again, one million thanks go out to players who support this game for such long time. We’re looking forward to meeting you all on Steam!
