New Update Released: v. 1.0.214 (patch 7)

Dear Community,

We know you haven’t heard much from us for some time, but here we are, back with an update! We’ve fixed some issues you’ve mentioned and added some new options and features. This time the package contains:

New vehicle sounds

New is always better, some say. This time it’s true, we think. Check out the new sounds and let us know what you think!

Options: weather effects

Turn different weather types off in the Options menu so that they never appear in the game world. Turn them back on to keep the weather changing.

Hazard flashes

Many of you messaged us about this, so now all vehicles have hazard flashes for any situation you feel requires them.

Paper Truck warning light

Paper Truck was the only one where the warning beacon malfunctioned. Not any more, it works just as well as on any other truck.

Minimap fixes

There isn’t much to say about this change. We found a couple of issues with markers on the minimap and fixed them.

Achievement fixes

We’ve been receiving reports about some achievements not triggering when they should, etc. We’ve looked into this and they ought to work fine now and trigger if you should have gotten them already.

Bugfixes and optimization

We fixed some bugs, among which the most commonly appearing one was wheels very slowly turning after you stopped the vehicle. They no longer do that. Also, we looked into game logic for better optimization - the never ending story.

Thanks a lot for your patience and all the feedback we’ve been getting from you on the forums. We’d love to hear from you about this patch and any new ideas you have. You help a lot!

All the best,
Cityconomy Team

Patch v.1.0.200 Rleased (Patch #6)

Dear Community,

We’re coming back with another Cityconomy patch, which includes a feature a lot of you have been asking for from the very beginning and a set of some other changes and fixes. Thanks for keeping us posted about what your ideas are and for all the comments and reports.

Here’s more about this update:

Red light tickets

Before this patch you could get tickets for crashes, but not for driving through a red light. As the idea for this feature kept coming back in your comments, we decided to finally add it to the game. Now you will get fined for this kind of reckless driving, so be careful!

Gameplay options

Then we thought: ‘OK, but what if players got used to not being fined for running a red light and won’t be happy about the change?’ You can now check the Options menu and in the Gameplay section modify for which offences you want to be punished.

Unassigning keybindings

The lack of this option caused some confusion and issues during control configuration. Now it’s available and we hope this will help you in configuring your favourite controller to your liking and playing the way you want to.

Employee work time

Employees work too long and it is possible to exploit them to earn money by fast forwarding time? Not any more. As you suggested, now it takes an employee less time (only 15 minutes) to complete a task, but fast forwarding time (still available) will not affect it - they will still have to finish the job in real time.

Smaller improvements

Some fixes to how trucks and other task objects behave during work were made. This also included multiplayer and HUD improvements, and some bugs you recently reported.

Let us know what you think of the new patch! We wish it were possible to include all the updates you requested and all of your suggestions right away, but unfortunately it will require some time and us keeping on working. Stay tuned for more!

Best regards,
Cityconomy Team

Small Hotfix released

Dear Community!

We noticed some crash reports for the game and took a look into the deep coding spheres and prepared a small hotfix which should stop the crashing of the game!

Happy new year from the whole team!

Patch v. 1.0.180 released! (Patch #4)

Dear community,

just before Christmas Eve, we would like to share the patch notes of the newest Patch #4 for CITYCONOMY with you, which was released today!

We all wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year! :)

---

Games logic optimization
We’ve made sure that games logic works as fast as possible so if you suffer framerate drops (which we hope you don’t) it is rather a rendering or traffic issue that both could be easily adjusted in options menu.

Fix building gates in multiplayer
Your friend has been emptying a garbage truck but incineration plants gate were closed for you? It is no more! Enjoy synchronously opening and closing of buildings gates.

Direction pad and buttons act the same
From now on you can assign either D-Pad or regular buttons to controllers bindings which aren’t using axis (these are still separated). So thumbs up for four new buttons available!

Translations fixes

Minor bug fixes
We’ve hunted down everything reported via steam bug tracker!

Enjoy the holidays and have fun with CITYCONOMY! :)

Patch v. 1.0.161 released (Patch #3)

Dear Community,

It’s time for the third Cityconomy patch! Thanks for your feedback regarding the previous ones, it allowed us to correct some issues with recent changes. And, of course, we’ve implemented new features lots of you have been asking for, including:

Multiplayer: many active missions at once

That’s right. We looked deep into the multiplayer mode and enabled activating more than one task at a time (exactly as many tasks as there are players, up to 5). Only the host (the boss!) can take missions, but after that a guest can activate one for themselves in the tablet menu (by selecting the task from the list and pushing the ‘set active’ button). This will show them task goals and minimap markers for the mission. Which means that each of the players can complete a different task at the same time. What do you think?

Multiplayer: riding the back of garbage trucks

Some of you asked not only for riding as passengers in the cabin (last patch), but also for riding the back of garbage trucks. It is possible now and we hope it works fine for you!

Multiplayer: patching the chat

OK. So you noticed a silly mistake we’d made when implementing chat. We’ve corrected it. Press Y to open/close chat window. Press T to write your message. Type Y without closing the chat window.

Bug fixing

We detected a couple (potentially) game crashing bugs. They’ve been corrected, and we will continue looking for other. Some are just more tricky to correct, we can only ask you to let us know whenever you find a bug and for your patience.

And that is all for now. Thank you for your support and for being so active. Please note that we are still working on details of some of the changes that are not perfect, but did not want you to wait too long for new features. We’ll keep on going through reviews, comments and the forum to learn your opinions and suggestions. More updates soon!

Best regards,
Cityconomy Team

Patch v. 1.0.142 released (Patch #2)

Dear Community,

As promised, based on your reviews and posts, we’ve prepared a second update to Cityconomy to address some of the issues you’ve had with the game and to add some useful features you’ve been discussing.

The patch includes:

Multiplayer: passengers

More than one person can enter a truck. Big MAN trucks have three seats, small ones have two. The first person to get in the vehicle becomes the driver. Who’s going to call shotgun?

Multiplayer: chat

You reported this was an important feature to add. Press “T” and you can now write messages to your friends when you play together. Press “Y” to hide the chat.

Multiplayer: resetting vehicles

Resetting vehicles in multiplayer used to cause some trouble with synchronization between players. Not any more!

Fuel tanks

Those who play the most have noticed that they need to refuel a little too often. Fuel tanks are larger now, so you won’t have to drive to the petrol station all the time. Unless you want to!

Garbage compactors

Also, all garbage and recycling trucks have bigger containers. From what you said, emptying them too often was a bit tiring. So we made them larger. Large enough?

Expander achievement

There was a bug in the Expander achievement and it wouldn’t trigger. Now it should work fine, so go and try to get it! And don’t worry if you’ve already unlocked all contracts (districts) - this bug fix works backwards and the game will recognize the achievement.

Thank you for your suggestions and dedication! We hope you like the changes! Let us know what you think in the comment section and the forums.

We’ll keep working on other topics which appeared in the comments, let’s plays and reviews. Another update will be up soon.

Best regards,
Cityconomy Team

Patch 1: #1.0.120 Released

Dear Community,

Thank you very much for your feedback on the game! We’ve been reading all your comments and reviews and prepared a patch to quickly deal with some of the issues you mentioned and to include good ideas you had.

This includes:

Turn signals!

This was our priority after first reviews. A lot of you said you’d like to be able to indicate which way you’re turning. Done!

Steering tweaks

Steering the trucks didn’t always feel right, from what you said. We've adjusted some parameters and would love to hear if it works any better for you. To the forums!

Faster garbage container movement

Garbage containers don’t feel as heavy as before, so moving them around is a little easier and faster.

No ‘at work’ speed limit for Garbage Truck

When you open Garbage Truck’s and Recycling Truck’s arms, it no longer means limiting your driving speed. But we kept the limit for other vehicles at work, where it makes more sense.

Sound tweaks

Some of you reported that particular vehicle sounds were too loud or, well, a bit annoying. Not any more, we hope. The changes aren’t huge, but it’s a start.

Invert mouse option

Both axis of the mouse can be inverted now. Check the option out if you like and let us know what you think.

More streetlights

We watched your let’s plays and broadcasts and there were locations which looked too dark at night to you (and to us). We added more streetlights in those places. Is it any better?

Minor city changes

A couple of important locations are more accessible now. Can you even notice the tweaks?

Let us know what you think of the patch!

In future updates we are planning to address more of your suggestions. Among them:
controller support: sensitivity, button bindings
gameplay: red light tickets
multiplayer: taking passengers on a ride

Thanks again for your help and passion! We will keep working to eliminate annoying issues and include the best ideas you give us!

Regards,
Cityconomy Team
