Civil War: Atlanta 1864 out now!
The latest instalment of our American Civil War game series, Civil War: Atlanta 1864, is now available on Steam!

The new game consists of:

7 mission ‘Tutorial’ campaign, played as Union.
4 mission ‘Rebel Yell’ Campaign. Key events from May 9th – May 15th.
5 mission ‘Bayonets and Shells’ Campaign. Key events from May 27th – June 20th.
6 mission ‘Yankee Hurrah’ Campaign. Key events from June 20th – July 21st.
6 mission ‘The Battle of Atlanta’ Campaign. Key events from the battle of Atlanta.

With the exception of the tutorial all missions can be played as either side.

Civil War: 1863 - version 5.0.2 update

  • Change: The Bonus 'Opening Shots!' Campaign is now available to all players without requiring an email registration.

Civil War: 1863 v5.0.0 Update

  • Change: Updated the combat capabilities of Cavalry armed only with Pistols.
  • Change: Improved A.I. opponent.
  • Fix: Missing some mount dismount button options.
  • Fix: An error preventing the 'Game Updates' text from appearing.
  • Fix: Some screen layout issues.
  • Fix: Invalid font selection on some buttons on some platforms.

Update
Fix: Improved memory management.
Fix: Improved hex tile Positioning accuracy.
Add: A Change speed option in settings. This has three options standard, slow and fast which effects how fast the game plays.

For mac users: If the game does not start after you update please uninstall and reinstall the game.

Update
We have added two new campaigns to the game.

Arsenal an eight mission campaign and Chickamauga also an 8 mission campaign.

You might also notice some small changes to the UI.

At the moment we at HexWar are very busy updating all our hex engine games.

So far we have updated Civil War 1861, 1862, 1863 and 1864, 1865 should be finished sometime next week.

We would also like to say a big thank you to all our players out there for supporting a small indie company.

Ouch, hotseat!
We’ve just released the latest update for Civil War: 1863! This patch includes 3 new multiplayer campaigns! (Hotseat multiplayer only; it’s nice to get comfy around the open computer screen with a loved one this time of year). New changes in this release also include new tooltips for the map overlay and an all-round general improvement to the UI. We hope everyone enjoys the changes, but please let us know if there’s anything we can do to improve this for everyone. Thanks for playing!

We've just released the latest update to Civil War: 1863!



Improved tutorial!
We've updated all eight missions in the tutorial campaign.

  • Expanded notifications during tutorial to provide more insight into the game system.
  • Hex highlights added to improve clarity.
  • Notifications remain on screen longer to give players an opportunity to read them.
