Over the last few months, we've been hard at work planning the next steps for Clan O'Conall. As a result, we've batched a number of small but important improvements to the game to fix outstanding issues. We've also introduced some cool new features to bring the joy of exploration to Hibernia once again.
Overall Fixes
Many, many major performance optimizations across the whole game to address frame drops and loading issues.
Many fixes, adjustments, and slight improvements to art and visuals, primarily addressing elements which were layered or parallaxing incorrectly
Clackshot’s upgrade “Touch the Sky” now correctly reflects non-fire projectiles as intended by performing a double or triple jump
Clackshot’s Grapple Hook ability has improved visual feedback for when she is within range of a green grapple attach point
Adjusted volume of background music in most levels.,
Improved Camera Features
*NEW* Zoom Toggle: When the camera is zoomed out beyond a certain threshold, players will be prompted with an icon on-screen to toggle between a more zoomed-in view as they choose.
Character Tracker: When the character is small on screen, they will be encircled with a coloured ring so that they are not lost by the player’s eye.
Look Down: Crouching will cause the camera to pan down, allowing the player to safely check for hazards below. What innovation!
Level Changes
Level 1 - The Valley of Heroes: awards 50 more fairies for enemy kill completion
Level 14 - Added an unstable platform to one of the late puzzles in the level, making it easier for the player to pick up another bomb to reattempt when they are blocked by the breakable wall
Level 20 - The Mother of Demons: added a checkpoint prior to starting the final boss phase
Level 20 - The Mother of Demons: improved visual feedback in the final boss phase - it’s more clear that the player is making progress on the boss through the first few cycles, and there is an on-screen arrow directing them back toward the center of the level when the boss switches sides
Removed 10 enemies from Level 9, 5 from Level 13, and 5 from Level 14 for game pacing purposes (the levels’ max Fairy rewards for enemy kills remain the same)
Streamlining adjustments to the final puzzle of Level 14
Streamlining adjustments to the first puzzle of Level 19
Edits to the section with many fireball spinners on Level 19 to improve its flow
Character Balancing
Increased the damage dealt by Haggish’s Up and Down directional attacks (Uppercut and Slam attacks)
Increased the range for a ledge grab to successfully attach, it should feel more forgiving and responsive now
Characters now perform a lower-height hop when leaping up to the ledge from a ledge grab. The result is that the character now lands after the ledge hop quicker and is able to act out of it sooner
The "Foot" Race!
It's mid-week of the Hibernian Summer Games and it's time to put our feet to the peat and see who's the fastest runner in all of Hibernia!
TeamWiders will be competing for cash prizes and the vaulted title of Fastest Runner. The race is from Game Start to the defeat of Jack-in-Irons 2, a full on "Foot" Circuit!
All of this is made possible through the amazing support of The Hospital for Sick Children and GG Talent Group. Through the next week we're raising funds for Children's health!
Beginning on July 26th at 12:00PM EDT, streamers are signing up to raise money for SickKids under their new VS initiative. We’re bringing gamers together to build a hospital – and we need your help! Streamers can sign up, bring their channel, and win prizes and giveaways for their audience through the following two weeks.
The Hibernian Summer Games are an initiative to raise money for this worthy cause with events and contests. There’s also a double reward track, so it’s incredibly easy to get on board, win cool swag, and raise money for a cause that will help children all over the world!
Registration for the event is being done through StreamLabs Charity, which has zero processing fee for donations.
Clan's On Sale, 25% Off! 10% Goes to Sick Kids!
Throughout the event, 10% of all net sales of Clan O'Conall will go directly to SickKids, on top of our events and streamers raises!
All money raised through this event will go to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
The Monsters & Mayhem Update is Live!
Summer is almost over and we wanted to introduce some new features into the game based on player feedback. These are things we’ve wanted to add for a while!
That’s why we’re happy to announce the Monsters & Mayhem Update, including a new Accessibility Pause option for Swaps, and Game Difficulty!
Character Swap-Pause Option
Finding it challenging to swap precisely when you have a boar on your tail? Say no more!
Within the Gameplay section of the pause menu, we added this handy new feature that will give a brief pause to the gameplay every time you switch to a new character, allowing you to prepare your next move or correct the swap if you mistakenly selected the wrong sibling for the job. You can turn this on and off anytime you want!
Combat Difficulty Setting
We want everybody to play at the level they want so we made an Easy, Normal, and Hard mode for combat! You don’t find enough of a challenge? Switch to Hard and see the hordes of Caoranach deal more damage, making you rely more on dodge moves and precise attacks in order to win battles. On the other hand, if you find the mayhem of battle is too much, keep it on easy so you can focus more on platforming and puzzle-solving.

We also made a number of fixes to the game itself.
Bug Fixes
Big Visual improvements to the Dreaded Dullahan! Dullahan’s head now has a much more prominent visual effect when its invulnerable. We’ve also added better indicators to the Stone Head and Faulty Bomb to show that Haggish can interact with them.
Red Skulls now consistently reflect back at Dullahan, fixing an issue where some would not behave correctly.
Fixed a problem area where a player could get stuck in a platform during a vine dash in Level 5
Fixed the issue in Caoránach’s first arena where you can ledge grab by mistake.
The Fireball Tunnel in Level 7 now welcomes you with a stream of continuous fireballs.
Kilcannon’s swapping responsiveness has been improved while he’s gliding.
Air Vents now refresh Kilcannon’s air dodge.
Fruit Bombs may now be thrown to destroy flying enemies.
Haggish’s reflect upgrade has been fixed to be more consistent.
Audio and Visual Improvements
Level 17 now has a tense new music track to fit the theme of the level. Tread carefully!
A ring has been added to Clakshot’s grapple points to help clue in players when they are in range for a grapple.
The platform layouts on the last boss fight of the game now have a fancy new effect when they appear on screen.
