Classic Racers was a perfect journey
First of all, thank you for giving Classic Racers a try. Thank you all for your good and honest evaluations. Thank you for all the love you've gave me. It was my fuel to continue making good and tasty racing games. Thank you all the haters or just the people who did not like the game. I have learnt a lot from you and it make me be stronger and a better game maker.
It's been a long time since my last post. Things have evolved a lot. I've released 3 games for other companies and another one is in production.
I have a heartache to say it, but now, Classic Racers need to be shutdown. The fact that the game is still alive and free starts to be a problem for the upcoming games. I have to make the choice and unplug the game.
But wait ! This bad news is for a good one. Classic Racers Elite will be finally out on Steam soon. It's about a month or two... We're staying in touch and big news are arriving.
The game will be shut down in the next days.
Thank you all Fuel Drinker, Tire Eater and Oil Digester. This is just the beginning of a new era of "Simcade Pure Fun".

Classic Racers Elite
It's now a year since the latest news from me. I have spent a lot of time and i've worked hard for hugely improving the game. During this time, i was really surprised how many positive evaluations and good vibes you've gave to the game. It gives me strenght to continue ! Thank you guys !
Now, i'm glad to say you that this new version will be released soon here on Steam.
But, because you are important for me, i want you to be involved in this new release, because after all, this is your game. I will make it, you will buy it and enjoy it.
So, let's dive into the topic. I will give you the list of new features, new contents and improvements. I would love to have your suggestion regarding the price tag. It's something important because i want to know precisely what is the right price of my "hidden gem" ! :D
New Features:
- Cockpit view for all cars.
- Controllers remapping and customization.
- New image/post-processing effects (Motion blur / Ambient occlusion / Color Grading / Bloom / Anti Aliasing).
- Multiple languages : French - Italian - English - Spanish - German - Russian - Polsky - Chinese
Improvements:
- New user interface.
- Improved graphics (full PBS shading) for a better looking game.
- New physic setup for more controllable and more realistic behaviors. But still pur SimCad joy !
- New 3d models and improved old ones.
- Improved textures quality.
- Improved performances for a rock solid 60fps game even with little configurations.
New content:
- 3 new cars (from 13 to 16) with a new category. 1980s Formula.
- Bohem 2112 turbo (group 2)
- Fred Convoy MK1 (Group 2)
- GH 25 (Formula)
- High quality interior for all 16 cars.
- 4 new locations:
- Le Monsse (Long closed track)
- Rebus (Long mountain closed track)
- Francis Pastis (Closed track)
- Mont Venteux (Long mountain hill climb)
- 20 new tracks. 31 originals for a total of 51 tracks.
I'm impatient to read at your suggestions regarding the content and all the stuff.
The original price tag of Classic Racers was 4.99€, so, please give me your fair price tag regarding all these improvements and new contents.

Incoming update ?
When the game was premium, you were around 2500 players. Now that it is free, you are near 10 000 ! That’s why i’m thinking at updating the game with a huge graphical improvement that i’ve made in my spare time. This big update improves the overall visual quality of the game by changing the lighting and shading technics to full PBS. And more... It improves the performances !
At the same time, i will integrate the most asked feature so far... The controls customization. :D
One orher thing... It seems that you like the game. So, i will try to make a « donation DLC«. My work is your pleasure, so you could encourage me by giving what you think is the good price for this work.

It's over...
It's now about 7 monthes that the game is alive. I've put in it all my experience and love of cars and racing. But the sales were never sufficient regarding the time and efforts i've gave to you. You are now around 2500 racers and i'm gratefully thanking each one of you.
But now, i have to move forward and i cannot go further if i'm still developing Classic Racers. Even if some of you loves it, i must admit that generally, this game interests nobody. I've tried to make deals with publishers but it was always the same answer: "It will interest nobody, it's too a -niche- genre".
The cloud servers that manage connection and leaderboards will still be available until the end of the year. After, it will depend :D
I will try to port it on consoles but i'm not optimist on the issue. :(
The game will be free on Steam starting today.

Quick fix for Update v1.3 is live.
The "missing .exe" on Windows is now restored in place.
Some of you had InfoNews panel constantly popping out on the screen. Problem solved.
I have made some minors optimisations on animations and objects management. Slightly improved performances on all platforms.
Now, i'm working on the next update and i already have a ghost system ! YEAH !!! I just have to find how to store it on the cloud.

The new update is here... Finally.
I've made a lot of things in this new version. I wasn't able to do all you've asked me but i'm pretty sure that you will love this new update. Here is the quick list of the things that have changed or have been modified.
Graphics:
-New PBR shading for all cars
-Real time reflection on paint
-Real time lights for exhaust and brakes
-Increased maximum visibility from 400 meters to 1 kilometer (depending on the track needs)
-New UI system and graphics
-Far fog system
Sound:
-No more crash sounds after the loading of the track
-Remade « Fred GT 50 » sounds
-Remade « Citroen SD » sounds
-Improved «Bartha 1000 Barchetta » sounds
-Global sounds settings remade for all cars
Gameplay:
-New camera. More dynamic, more fun
-New global physic settings for a more controllable and stable simulation
-New steering curve for more precision at low speed and more stability at high speed
-New tire setup for a more realistic sensation of grip
Content:
-New vegetation for some tracks
-New garage environment for both main menu and car selection menu
-New car - Persche 9080
-New closed track « Manoca » with its reversed variation
-New open road track « Col de la Turbine » with its reversed variation
-New championship « South of France » with the new tracks
Performance:
-Adding a VSync option in the « Graphics Options » menu
-Maximum framerate capped at 120 fps
-Minor optimisations
This update was very late, i apologize for this. :D The next update will be more focus on features. I will try to make a ghost replay, Car group leaderboards and maybe a PVP system. For sure, i will add a bit of content. One or two cars and a track should be amazing. Will i survive to this ToDo list ? I’m not sure !
