Update 1.5 Now Live

Hello everyone, Update 1.5 is now live.

This update includes:

- A full overhaul of the house level
The previous house layout was created a while ago and remand the same during the official release. However, as other things were added and changed we found the old house didn't work well with our modern vision. So we remade it from the ground up.

- A brand new monster taking the place of the Seers
The Seers had a interesting mechanic, but were somewhat forced to fit the old house layout, we have instead created a new monster to take their place. Seers may make a reappearance later.

- New areas of the Estate
On top of remaking the house we have also expanded on it, so you'll have some new areas to explore.

- Reworking and balancing of monster mechanics
We've rethought our monster mechanics and added in new systems and balanced old ones in order to make the monster mechanics more fair. We've also added some themed tutorials so each monster's unique mechanics are better explained.

- New voice acting
You've got a new friend in ClayTown, he'll be in touch while you play.

- New notes
Get reading!

- New Animations
Added some new death and kill animations to our monsters in order to give them some more personality and flare. Hope you like them!

- New Music
Another new track made by the great Simon Jones! This one made for our new monster.

And more! We’ve been working hard for the last several months to bring you this update. The main purpose of it being to fix many of the issues both mechanically and thematically that the original release suffered from. After lots of hard work, we think we’ve done it. We hope you all enjoy!

Update 1.5 Playtest: Now Live

Hello everyone, the playtest for Update 1.5 is now live.

This update includes:

- A full overhaul of the house level

We’ve been working hard for the last several months to bring you this update. The main purpose of it being to fix many of the mechanical and thematic issues that the original release suffered from. After lots of hard work, we think we’ve done it. We hope you all enjoy!

A few things of note:

1. The playtest is in an experimental state, it is likely you will encounter bugs. Our hope for the playtest is to find all these bugs early and get them all ironed out before the official release. If you’d rather not experience bugs, then we recommend that you wait until the official release of Update 1.5.

2. To access the playtest, go to your steam library, right click on Claytown Horror, go to “properties”, go to the “betas” tab, then switch your “Beta Participation” to “playtest”. This will switch you over to the playtest build.

3. Please report any bugs and feedback onto the steam community page, or join our discord server at discord.gg/p3aYqjJ4Za We will appreciate any and all feedback.

We’re very excited for all of you to take a look at what we’ve been working on. Also thank you to everyone participating in the playtest; we look forward to seeing all of your feedback and reports. With your help we’ll make sure update 1.5 is the best it can be.

Patch 1.0.3

Hello everyone, we've gone ahead and added in a feature to help with the games difficulty. We've added the ability to play the game with more checkpoints if you prefer to have a more casual time with the game. If you prefer more difficulty, then you can play through how the game was in 1.0.2 with less checkpoints. You will be asked what setting you'd like to play on whenever you start a new game, or you can manually turn on the option "frequent saves" in the options menu.

We hope this will better accommodate different players playstyles, and lead to even more good spooky times.

We have also balanced some audio in the game, and fixed a few bugs that were found.

We will continue to monitor the game and continue to make it better and better.

Hello Everyone, were pushing out another patch to fix a couple small bugs we've found as well as some further balancing, and some QoL changes.

- Reduced Large and Medium Peek-a-boo HP
- Reduced Large and Medium Peek-a-boo Speed
- Tweaked Peek-a-boo navigation
- Increased Brightness in Peek-a-boo Dollhouse
- Reduced player passive light intensity in Peek-a-boo Dollhouse and Moldy House
- Seers will now despawn if near a door when the door becomes barricaded
- Reduced Barnabee Speed
- Increased Player Speed in Barnabee Dollhouse
- Fixed some missing collisions
- Stopped interaction crosshair from showing on wrong objects
- Moved basement key to a more noticeable location
- Moved Art Contest Newspaper in order to make it easier to grab
- Added text popups to interactables
- A few other small bug fixes

We will continue to monitor the game for any more bugs and necessary balancing.

Hello everyone, we've noticed a few bugs and balancing issues. This patch should eliminate the ones we've seen so far. We'll keep a close eye and find any more bugs as soon as possible.

- Tweaked Peek-a-Boo Spawn rate and speed
- Tweaked Peek-a-Boo navigation
- Added checkpoint in Twinroom
- Blocked player from being able to jump out the window
- Fix a few other small bugs
