Today is the last day to grab our new game, Evangeline, at its launch discount.
It's a short game about love and loss, and it's very special to us.
It would mean the world to us if you checked it out! :)

Our New Game is Out -- FREE!
Hi, Close Order community!
It's been a while since our last update. A lot has been going on at Raconteur -- today, we're celebrating the release of our new game Evangeline!
It's a game about love and loss inspired by the death of someone close to our founder. Our goal with the game was to connect you with the people you care about most.
The best part is it's available completely free at the game's website. Grab it now!
A Steam release will happen in February; we released it on our own site initially for reasons that'll make sense once you finish the game.
Thank you to our players for being there for us since the start. We think you'll like Evangeline, as well as all the other great things we have planned.
Have a great day!

We Need Your Help!
Good morning everyone!
We woke up this morning to find out that Steam has a new system for reviews. In an effort to curb illegitimate reviews and grey market key resellers, Steam no longer shows reviews of games that were done by an account that redeemed a key for the game in question.
In short, it limits reviews to only those people who bought the game through Steam -- no longer counting or allowing reviews of people who redeemed a key.
This has drastically altered the amount of reviews on Close Order, as many of our players who left reviews - both positive and negative - had been a part of our community from the very beginning (keys given at local events, some of our first people in Early Access), and/or were players who got it through bundles.
Today, we come to you all with a humble request: If you bought Close Order, please review the game for us! If you haven't played in a long while (i.e. before March-ish), we recommend playing again too. Whether you loved it or hated it, every piece of feedback helps us grow as developers in addition to getting our store page back to normal.
Thank you all again for everyone that's been with us on this journey! We're knee-deep in our next game Traiteur (which you should totally wishlist right now!) but Close Order lives on in our hearts and through our fans.
You're all awesome. Thank you so much. <3

Check Out Our Next Game, Traiteur!
Happy Friday, guys and gals!
We've been very quiet the past few months as we've been heads-down working on our brand new game, Traiteur.
Today we're excited to let you know that the Steam page is now up! We think it'll be out very early next year, so please make sure to wishlist it and spread the word. :)
Thanks to everyone who supported us during the development of Close Order.
We won't be doing Early Access for Traiteur, as we're testing throughout the development process and are aiming for a 100% complete release when it launches next year.
Can't wait to tell you more soon!

Welcome to New Players! Tips from the Devs
Hi everyone!
The summer sale is upon us, and we wanted to give a warm welcome to the players who are just now joining us for the first time. :)
Close Order is a game that we poured our hearts, minds, and souls into -- and it was made better by your fellow players.
Here are a few quick tips from the dev team before you jump in!
Always have minions -- you can't go it alone!
As you defeat more enemies, you'll rack up kills -- these kills eventually unlock additional slots within your armada. Start with 12, end up with 40! If a story mission is too tough, try playing a few rounds of our Survival mode to unlock more slots.
Every minion behaves differently, and different minions fit different circumstances. Be sure to read the advanced controls in the FAQ in-game for more!
Don't forget that you unlock more minions by progressing through the game. Some players really like the Story missions, while some prefer to play endlessly in Survival. Each mode will give you more minions to unlock and diversify your armada, so try as much as you can!
Finally, share your screenshots of your badass armadas in the community hub. We'll post them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
A few last tips: sell minions you don't like, try lots of different armada combinations, and most importantly... have fun! We loved creating this little world, and we hope you enjoy your stay.
Thanks everyone - let us know what you think of the game! :)

We learned a lot from Close Order, and especially from each and every one of you -- will you join us for our next adventure? :)

Small Patch Released
Hi everyone!
Hope you've been enjoying Close Order at its best! We're pleased to see the positive response since 1.1, and are enjoying seeing your armadas being shared. Y'all rock!
We released a small patch that fixed two issues the community identified:
Fixed issues with audio sliders
Fixed issue where after unlocking more formation slots, minions could not be placed into those slots until all currently alive minions were destroyed
Thanks to our community for identifying these issues and letting us know!
Keep showing us those armadas. :)

Share Your Armadas, Get Featured!
Hi everyone!
Our favorite part of making Close Order has been our community, and we've noticed something -- you guys build some spectacular fleets!
We want to see more of them, so please share your screenshots in the community hub. We'll take our favorites and feature them on our social media profiles! Check out this first one from user Patrick Bateman.
Thanks for being awesome -- now show us that awesomeness in-game! :)

Hello folks!
We're excited to announce that the 1.1 update for Close Order has just gone live! See below for a complete list of fixes and changes.
Thanks to everyone who's given us feedback and helped us improve the game, especially those who stuck with us through Early Access. :)
Changelog below:
Drastically altered difficulty of first mission, should now be much more fair
Increased starting amount of formation slots
Added controller support! See FAQ in-game for controls
Fixed issue with audio options not always saving
Added options to adjust music and sound FX in addition to master volume
Added Quick Repair hotkey (R)
Added ability to switch between Custom Formation Editor and Shop Window without having to return to gameplay in-between, see FAQ for controls
Fixed issue in third mission with enemies sometimes flying through level barriers
Fixed typo in fourth mission briefing
Increased pickup radius for Prognosticator at end of first mission in hub 2
Greatly decreased volume of mortar sounds from standard mortar enemies and mortar bosses
Fixed Krewe minion render not properly displaying
Adjusted final mission to have a threshold of enemies remaining to allow for progress, such that players do not have to hunt down a single enemy that flew away in order to progress through the level
Fixed all minions being classified as "Offensive" in Formation Editor
Other minor bug fixes
This update makes Close Order the best it's ever been, and we can't wait to see what you think.
We're starting to turn our focus towards what's next, so stay tuned!
At Raconteur, we tell stories -- and your story is pivotal. We wouldn't be here without our players. Thanks to each and every one of you for your support of our weird, ambitious little game. It's been a long journey since August, and we couldn't have done it without your criticism, honesty, and support.
