Both Tier 3 ships have very distinctive playstyle and unique abilities. They will be available in the in-Game Store from July 19 along with a special bundle that contains both ships for 7,000 Rubies. Please note that this bundle is only available until July 26.
Chaplain is a Tier 3 Heavy Support Galleon, capable of fire support as well as buffing your allies and restoring their hitpoints. At first glance, the description sounds like the one of Aurora, but Chaplain’s gameplay is quite different. For one, Chaplain has a special passive module that restores hull and shield hitpoints to every friendly ship within 75 vessels once per 3 seconds. Chaplain’s other module effects revolve around this passive ability – it can be configured to buff your allies, speed them up or provide additional restoration. On the other hand, the guns of the ship can only be used to deal damage, not to heal. While it may look bulky, Chaplain is mobile and has a lot of hitpoints. Its downside, however, is the distinctive lack of defensive measures.
Charon is a Tier 3 Torpedo Cruiser. On the surface, it resembles a Torpedo Corvette, but its battlefield role is quite unique – to deal area-wide damage. Its frontal guns apply Seals on enemy ships that last for a certain period of time. Apart from the effect of the Seals themselves (for example, setting enemy ships on fire), Charon is equipped with modules that allow it to detonate all active Seals at once, dealing massive damage in the process. This way, Charon can mark several enemies at once with its Seals and detonate them, dealing damage to multiple ships at the same time. The second main ability allows Charon to reduce the incoming healing for enemy ships by 35 percent when hitting them with its frontal guns.
We hope that you will enjoy both these new ships – happy hunting, captains!

Update 1.5: Ranking Changes
Captains!
In Update 1.5, we have reworked the rating calculation system.
Basically, now it works like this: a player’s rating is compared to his teammates’ rating in the current battle, and the system is ‘expecting’ that player to achieve certain results in that battle. If the player does meet the criteria, his rating grows; if he slightly falls behind, the rating does not change; if he is far behind, it decreases. In battle, you will see your contribution to the team’s results so you will know whether you need to need to improve your performance in order to earn rating.
Your pre-made party and your win rate are now also taken into account during the matchmaking. Players with a high win rate and players in pre-made parties have a higher rating in the matchmaking. With Update 1.5, all ships will need to complete 7 battles in order to qualify. Your previously earned rating will not be reset. Your new rating after those 7 qualifying battles will factor in your previous results.
Please note: the Ranking system is currently experiencing issues that will be resolved in an upcoming Patch. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience.
Introducing Update 1.5 “Burning Tide”
Captains!
We are proud to present the newest addition to Cloud Pirates – Update 1.5 “Burning Tide”
New Map "Cursed Treasure Canyon"
Captains, a new area has been discovered! The Cursed Treasure Canyon is an uncanny, dangerous, and treasure-packed region which attracts pirates from all the corners of the Astral. As a result of mysterious circumstances, its terrain has changed drastically. The majority of locals continue to live in the sunny part of the canyon, enjoying peace, serenity, and the golden autumn landscape. In the central part of the canyon, the Great Tree, untouched by the hex, grows with its branches spread all over.
But none of the canyon dwellers ever dare to walk into its dark part: that place is the source of the curse which has stricken the region. Several months ago a battle took place there, when many ships on both sides perished and their wrecks can still be seen scattered across the bottom. Some say there was a cursed cargo onboard of one of the ships. Others claim that the captain of a downed ship cursed both the treasures she was carrying and the attackers.
Time to set sail!
Lost Crew Treasure Maps
In Update 1.5, you may loot Lost Crew’s Treasure Maps and send expeditions through them.
The first mate now accompanies beginner ships; he comments on various captain’s actions and gives hints.
New Mode: Moving Control Point Capture
For 7x7 brotherhood battles only, another mode will become available. Generally, it is similar to the Control Point Capture mode, but the only difference is that the points start moving in a certain moment of battle, and you will have to adapt your tactics respectively.
Economics Changes
Tier 4 ship price reduced to 1.000.000 Gold. Ship repair costs reduced and the presence of AI bots no longer reduces the reward for the battles.
New Collector's Treasure Map
A new Collector's Treasure Map has been added. It can reward you with new portrait frames, flags, sails, stickers, and Doubloons, as well as the new hull color pattern "Hell Fire" which changes the ship hull's texture.
The amount of Doubloons has been increased for all maps. Now you can win 60, 90, or even 150 Doubloons (as opposed to 30-60-100)!
Other "Burning Tide" Changes
Animated Portraits
Animated captain portraits are available for sale for Collector's Doubloons. They are sold separately, but those who already have a regular copy of a portrait can purchase the animated version at a discount.
Ship Crews
Ship crews have been significantly reworked. Now they specialize on certain ship types (e.g. Light Kanian ships). This change will only affect the new crews.
Maps and Modes
Outpost Siege
Payload Plunder
The reward in the Payload plunder mode now depends on the relation of captured/saved chests and not on the team's victory/defeat.
All delivered chests now give the same victory coefficient as any defender's victory before. The same applies to the attackers. When both teams score almost the same amount of chests, their reward coefficients will be approximately the same as well.

In Development: Lost Crew’s Treasure Maps
Captains!
In the upcoming Update 1.5 "Burning Tide", you may loot Lost Crew’s Treasure Maps and send expeditions through them.
Lost Crew’s Treasure Maps work on the same mechanics as regular ones - the expedition finds from 3 to 5 reward options, and you select one of them.
With a Lost Crew’s Treasure Map you may loot:
Crew contracts, found in these expeditions, are different from regular ones in two aspects.
First, each found crew already has all skills possible for its quality level. For common crews, it’s one skill, for rare crews, it’s two skills, and for golden crews, it’s three skills. They have the same stats as regular ones, and they also grow with each level. Thus, the maximum level crews have the same bonuses both if they had been found through the Lost Crew’s Treasure Maps and otherwise.
Second, these new crews have a wider specialization. Crews from the new contracts specialize on ships of a certain size and faction. There are 6 specializations:
Another new feature is Crew skill reset. It is a consumable item which allows the crew to reset its skill set. There is a chance that some of the skills will remain the same. Example: before the reset, the crew’s skills were vision sharpness, visibility reduction, bow artillery damage, and after the reset, it gets horizontal speed, shield durability, and bow artillery damage. Though at least one skill will be new.
Tavern Expansion, as the title suggests, allows you to increase the maximum number of hired crews by 1.
In Update 1.5, we have also changed the use of Experienced Talking Parrots. Now they do not take up space in the tavern; you can view their amount in the left-bottom part of the tavern window. This is where the Crew skill reset feature is also accessible. To use either, right-click on a crew and select a context action.
Another change has affected the amount of experience the Experience Talking Parrot (and regular crews) can transfer.
Besides, the transferred experience increases depending on the donor crew’s level. In the next updates, we are planning to expand the crew functionality and use.
Update 1.5 is coming in the near future. Happy hunting!
