After scrambling around for a solution, I believe I was able to resolve the latest issue that came about from the latest Steam client update.
I used an older version of the Steam SDK and recompiled the game. I've successfully launched the game since updating.
You may get a popup that says "Can not change to destination folder". Click "OK" to acknowledge, and the game should launch shortly afterwards.
Unable To Run Game Due To Last Steam Client Update
Unfortunately, the last Steam client update rendered this game broken for the time being. I'm addressing this ASAP to get you all back in the game as fast as I possibly can.
October 29, 2015 Hotfix
This hotfix addresses melee class weapons not being able to destroy Nukes. I figured it was best to do a hotfix for this since I wasn't sure when I'd be rolling out the next major update.
Update Teaser
Over the weekend I randomly got a little carried away with a super cool shader. I don't want to say too much, but I think you can tell what it does based on the picture above :)
I'm just doing a battery of tests to make sure that nothing is broken because of it. Hopefully this update will be out sooner than later for you to enjoy.
Community Update
Update 1.0.2.2 provides players with a few items as suggested by the community from the Suggestions for Future Development discussion thread.
Two new weapons have been added which include Rapid Fire and Melee weapon classes.
Rapid Fire is pretty self explanatory — Hold fire to shoot fast! The gun fires 300% faster than the vanilla single shot, but its range is limited to help balance the higher fire rate.
Melee comes in 4 cosmetic variants, which can be broken down into 2 classes — The battle axe and sword can perform a whirlwind attack which is great for CQC or when a pesky droid is chasing you from behind. The lance and partisan can dash-attack through crowds with ease.
Please note that none of the melee weapons require that you actually use their ability to destroy enemies. You can simply run into objects nose-first and pop them like balloons.
Since these weapons are relatively new to the game, I'm interesting in knowing what you think about them and how they handle. As always, use the thread linked above to provide me with you comments.
The Selfie Update
Update 1.0.2.1 provides a few small fixes, but includes a very important update nonetheless — Selfies! I goofed up when I originally released CMYW by not realizing that the Steam overlay doesn't govern screenshots. Thanks to the community for pointing this out.
Highlights
The Steam screen capture button should function in game – Now you can share the chaos of space with the community!
D-pad for controllers now function within menus.
Mouse now functions with in-game menus i.e.) pause menu, summary screen.
CMYW Is Live!
I am pleased to present that CMYW is now available for purchase on Steam!
Thank you to everyone who made this possible by supporting this project throughout its Greenlight campaign. It's been a memorable journey and I am very happy with how everything turned out!
Please feel free to use the Community Hub to share your stories and experience with the game. I am curious to hear your take on CMYW.
Lastly, it is exciting to see the online leaderboards fill up with your scores. It looks like I have some work to do in order to get my score back up to the top :)
