Update 1.13 & Troubleshooting

It's been 17 hour since release and we're off to a decent start!

  • All the characters were originally designed to speak in their own native language. But since that isn't favourable, everyone now speaks English. Previous dialogue archived for future use.
  • Effect that slows movement speed replaced with stun.
  • Maximum speed for enemy reduced.
  • NPCs no longer wanders around.


Troubleshooting



  • If you experience lag spike or FPS drop, try turning on the Synch monitor FPS from the option menu ( can be accessed in game by pressing 'O' )

  • Additionally, your GPUs/Drivers must be able to support Canvas/WebGL/OpenGL for the game to run smoothly. Otherwise, download the latest driver for your graphic card from your manufacturer website.
  • Game volume and moving speed can be adjusted from the option menu.
  • Exiting the game is done by closing the window. It is recommended to quit only after the "Autosaved" prompt appear.



Coffee Crawl is based on old-fashioned, complex roguelike such as Nethack, DCSS, ADOM, etc. Which, to be honest isn't everyone's cup of tea. As such, it has a lot of hidden mechanics and interaction, which mostly need to be discovered by player themselves. Taking multiple enemies at once is deadly if you didn't exploit corridors. Hunger bar is constantly depleting and must be managed. Like all roguelike, the game is difficult and you're not expected to blaze through everything on your first few runs without dying. This is roguelike, you will die A LOT, and that's the most fun you can have.

Pre-release Update 1.1

Two weeks are a long time to wait before release.

Balance



  • Adjusted weaker abilities to scale better, but with longer cooldown.
  • Removed cheat locker due to potential abuse.
  • Buffed Engineer, Bouncer, and Lich class for better early game.
  • Removed adventure mode due to balance issue, for now.
  • All floor trap buffed.
  • Peer spawn rate reduced, spawn location increased from 2 to 3.
  • Minimum hour for eligible score increased from 1 to 2.
  • Donating to beggar now capped at 4.
  • Nerfed Harvester passive scaling from 100% to 75%
  • Adjusted some novelties to give cards.
  • Unlocks now progress faster.
  • Ability cost scaling reduced from lvl/18 to lvl/20
  • Deprive countdown now tick faster.
  • Autosave frequency reduced.


New Features



  • Cards now implemented.
  • Ability tooltip now display cost/cooldown.
  • Forte icons updated for colour blind.
  • 7th map added: Landfill, Academy, Facility.
  • Help for anarchy mode added in manual.
  • Peer favour's list now have personal names.
  • 20 more room pieces for each map layout.
  • Credit updated to include some forum members.
  • Vault added in locker room to store excess novelty to prevent lag.


Landfill


Home of all the unwanted stuff. A lot of enemies here inflict status ailments.


Academy


Mingle with the fellow students. By mingle, I mean kick their ass.


Facility


Robots do love their armour. Have some spanners ready to disarm them.


Cards


This is new feature allows you to modify the current map by placing either bonuses on yourself to make the map easier, or if you're doing well; add an extra layer of challenge for a reward in the end.


Card example. This one reduce the map overall difficulty.


This table will spawn at the starting room of each map. You may play up to three cards per map.


Each map contain two cards; chosen from the map's own card pool. you can get more by trading with friendly peers.

Others



  • Reverted RMMV version from 1.5.2 to 1.5.1 yanfly version for better PC performance.
  • There's already an in-game achievement system. Steam achievement will not be implemented for the time being due to redundancy.
