Public Demo Update

Galactic greetings, astronauts! 🧑‍🚀

After a month of Alpha-playtesting, and a couple of weeks after, we are happy to inform: we’ve updated our public demo! As previously mentioned, we received a great amount of feedback, so we carefully read all the critics and all the praises. We are thankful to each playtester for writing down the reviews, messaging to us in Discord and filling in the form. We appreciate the time you spent with Martin Bowman at Tanmi spacecraft!

Eventually, we've fixed many bugs and slightly reworked the beginning of the game to share the progress. Here is a shorlist of updates you can find in the Public Demo:

🎹 Prologue


Prologue sequence was polished and updated:

  • We've added a few clues for you in case you struggle to find the puzzle solution.
  • We've added one more puzzle to ease the learning of the new mechanics.
  • You may see some additional events in the Prologue. If you're observant enough, you may foresee the connection with events on the Tanmi spacecraft.

🚀 Spaceship


The Spaceship episode has received a huge update.

  • We've installed new terminals on board, with a sleek and stylish interface: everything to make exploring the spacecraft easier.
  • You may also find the "holograms" across the board. These will give you a glimpse of events that happened before Martin's arrival. Remember, holograms are unlocked over the course of the game and some of them might be inactive on the Day 1.
  • Spaceship is growing! We've added a few more rooms (not accessible yet) and marked them with colored key cards, making it easier to navigate across the vessel now.
  • Overall, numerous props and minor details have been added to the interiors, allowing you to explore the spaceship and delve into the lore of Cognition Method.

  • Objective system added to the game: if you feel lost on the spaceship, just press Tab to remind yourself of Martin’s recent thoughts and next steps.
  • The report system has been updated: reports have become shorter, so it's never boring to add a new line now!
  • An interaction system has been added: you can now take a closer look at some books and items to find out what happened to the expedition.

Today, we're making the first step out of the shell and streaming the first half of the game! You'll see the game beyond the public demo, and also an updated version of the Prologue that will land on Steam pretty soon.

Frankly speaking, this is the first time we're doing the wide broadcast on Steam, so we're a little stressed, as you can imagine.

Nevertheless, this is an awesome opportunity for us to demonstrate the development progress and gather your feedback.

Attending the Baltic Showcase by DevGAMM and DigitalVikings

Through the stars, we meet, astronauts! 🧑‍🚀

Do you remember last November when we introduced Cognition Method at the official showcase at DevGAMM Lisbon? 🎮 We had a blast! Unfortunately, we can't attend the onsite conference in beautiful Gdansk this year, starting on 28th February. We caught some virus and didn’t want to spread it among the game development experts 😷 But hey, we wouldn't miss it for the world! Being the Polish team with mostly Polish residences, we're absolutely delighted to participate in the digital segment of the Baltic Showcase by DevGAMM and DigitalVikings which is kicking off today! 🤩

The amazing DevGAMM conference hosts the event, in partnership with the Digital Vikings Award. 🏅 We didn't throw our hat in the ring for the Awards themselves, but we couldn't be happier to be included among the 280 incredible Baltic games on display!

Alpha Playtest has Started!

Starbound greetings, astronauts!

The playtest of an early Alpha build is open!
You can now play the first half of Cognition Method through the G.Round platform. Everyone can join this playtest and provide bug reports and valuable feedback that will shape the future of our game.

A short note about the platform: on G.Round you earn G.Points for participating in the tests and providing feedback (like filling out a 10-question survey). If you do enough tests, you will be able to use G.Points to buy gaming gear.

We are not sure if we can provide the direct link here on Steam so you can investigate the details yourselves.

A small reminder: currently, Cognition Method has a short demo on Steam, but we’ll launch a Beta Playtest right here, on the Steam platform. This will happen around the middle of April: as soon as we fix all found bugs, address all of your feedback, and add everything that was missed in the game.

We’re launching a series of playtests!

Next week, we're starting the Alpha playtest on the G.Round platform

  • You will be able to have a sneak peek into the first half of the game. It's your unique chance to feel the game's mysterious atmosphere even before the release without spoiling the finale!
  • Remember, it's an early Alpha version. Some episodes may feel unfinished, so we want to involve you in the creation process. Don’t hesitate to share your feedback with us!

The Beta playtest is planned to take place on Steam this April

  • The registration form is to be opened next month.

Demo update: Cognition Method got a new look


In the language of the Сosmos, we have traversed a significant expanse of spacetime in silence. 250 solar cycles of silence, to be precise.
It's time we break this quietude, much like a supernova piercing the tranquility of the interstellar medium.

We're happy to share an updated demo build, giving you a fresh perspective on the game Prologue.

It has numerous updates on how the Cognition Method look, sounds, plays, and how it's unfolding the narrative. As for now, it gets close to what we want to release in the final game, so your feedback and reactions are as important as ever!

But there is more: If you want to see more than just s prologue - don't hesitate to find our teammates at DevGAMM Event in Vilnius. They can give you a sneak peek at the next episodes of our puzzle thriller and share some narrative details.

Closed PRE-ALPHA playtests!

We want to improve the quality of the puzzles and the visual language of the game so that our players can fully enjoy the gameplay.

The esthetics of minimalism in Cognition Method

Making the “Cognition Method”, we have chosen a style that keeps the player’s attention on the most important things in the game – fundamental questions of life. Very simple, very important, but practically unsolvable.

In minimalism, we wanted to convey the insignificance of details and the very essence of the beauty of things.

One of the challenges was to build geometry in such a way that all the main puzzle areas were illuminated by a natural source of light

Environments in the game often refer to the work of great architects such as Tadao Ando, whose ideas were to “rethink the relationship between nature and people”.

The game touches on conflicts of various scales, from the hero’s inner feelings and questions of family values to the fate of all mankind. You can already try the demo on Steam and add the game to your wishlist!
