End of Service Announcement

June 19, 2023

Hey everyone, I'm sad to announce that Collective will be ending service on July 31st, 2023. Many things contributed to this decision, including declining player count and patreon income, our inability to find a manager for the project, and the recent drama with Reddit. It's been a terrific three years since the steam launch, but live service games are inherently unstable, and unfortunately we never found a way to make the game self-sustaining. We've always been blown away by the community's creativity and dedication, and we'll always be proud to have brought everyone together for this project.

In the short term we'll be disabling in-game payments and shutting down the Patreon.
After July 31st, this discord server will be made read-only, since we don't want to leave the space open but unmoderated.
We'll be posting a google drive folder with all of the cards that made it into the game officially as a long term archive. I've also added some buttons in the card editor to make it easier to download the cards you've made.

Huge shoutout to @MysticKnight , and @Bonk , and the other members of the committee for managing the game for so long, we couldn't have kept going as long as we did without you.

Other news:

Because of Reddit increasing their API prices to unrealistic prices starting July 1st and Collective making a ton of API calls for card submission and the like, we have decided to join others subreddits in the move and go private as a protest.
Privatisation will start on the 9th after the weekly cards have been posted on Steam and will last for the rest of that submission week. Before that, however, any submissions posted will be deleted and the week as a whole will be skipped.

TLDR; Don't post anything during the 8th and 14th both inclusive.
