Collision

Collision has sold 100 copies!

Collison has officially sold 100 copies! I can only assume this is due to the upcoming delisting of the game. I do want to thank everyone for the support and I apologize for the silence before now. I announced something last month on X/Twitter because that's where I assumed my audience was but I never realized the size of my audience on Steam. Thank you so much. So let's get into the FAQ

Q: Will I be doing a final sale of Collision?

A: No. As I see it right now, the current price allows for a discount on the Godot version of the game since that version will be priced higher but will not be launched in early access.

Q: Will Collision(RPG Maker) still be available in some sort of way?

A: Yes. I was originally planning on delisting the game fully from Steam due to the fact that I'm just not proud of it. However, after some help from the Steam Team, the game will stay available on Steam as a free app on October 20th.

Q: If the game is becoming free, will I still receive the Godot version as a paying customer?

A: Yes. The Steam Team and I have worked out a way to differentiate the paying customers and those who have gotten the game for free. Anyone who downloads the game for free will not receive the Godot version of Collision. Anyone who paid for Collision(RPG Maker) will still receive the Godot version and will also likely receive my next paid game at no extra cause.

Q: Will I be more open to steam users for my future releases?

A: Yes. I'm sorry this FAQ took so long. I didn't know the game was getting such a huge resurgence until I got a notice from Valve a few days ago. I will make sure that I put these notices out whenever they are made both on X/Twitter and Steam,

Q: So, what's next?

A: Right now, I'm still learning Godot. I am working on a FNaF fangame as my first project as something that can be made quickly to learn the engine. Obviously, this game will not be put as a paid game on Steam. It will be uploaded as a free game on another platform. After that will be a paid game uploaded onto Steam that will be free for all Collision(RPG Maker) customers. In the background, progress will also be made on Collision(Godot).

Thank you for hearing me out. I'm keeping my head down and working. Just like I promised to some of my friends. If you guys are interested, I'm working as the assistant director for all current games from Paradox Theory. We don't currently have a steam page but you can check out the X/Twitter account.

Collision's delisting

Due to some severe issues with RPG Maker and now Unity, I will be restarting development of Collision in the Godot Engine. As a result, Collision will be removed from steam on October 20th. I do plan to repost the steam page when the time is right, and all current owners of Collision will have access to the Godot Engine version when it launches. I am sorry for the slow progress, as I have entered a state of development hell.

Thank you for your patience.

Confession

I have been a bit unhappy with the release of Collision First-Third. The game was rushed to meet a deadline. I always swore to never fall into that trap but it seems to have happened. I'm sorry. I have lowered the price on Steam by $2 and will not raise it again until all content updates are finished and published. From now on, release dates will not be announced until all content is added and I am certain there will be enough time for bug fixes. I will also be recruiting friends to help with testing, as well as delaying any updates if needed. First-Third has been an embarrassment for me and I wanted to apologize. I am glad I launched in early access so I can prove that the current version of First-Third does not represent what I want Collision to become. Thank you for your time.

RoadMap

I wanted to be straight-up and honest here. I am very proud of what I have created over the past 3 months. Yes, that's how long I've been working on Collision. However, there is a lot more work to be done. One major focus of the release on Friday will be the story. However, I would like to commit to a re-write of the story in first-third. I learned some new techniques regarding storytelling closer to the end of development of First-Third that I would like to go back and put into first third as an update. So, I would like to set myself a public checklist for the future of Collision before work begins on Second-Third.

Content Update #1
1. 2 new sidequests
2. Upgraded tutorial
3. Small re-writes to side character dialogue
4. Upgraded mapping in dungeons

Content Update #2
1. Optimizations-this will allow easier implementation of new features
2. Re-Writes of major story scenes
3. Sandbox mode
4. 2 new sidequests
5. Re-balancing

Content Update #3
1. New City-Caledo
2. Jobs(Accountant and Bartender)
3. New story scene
4. New character introduced
5. 5 new sidequests

Content Update #4
1. New story scene
2. New City
3. 3 new sidequests
4. Training Dojo
5. Side Dungeon
6. New jobs
7. New character becomes playable

Giant Info Dump

We are getting close to launch. Here are 8 pieces of information to be shared about Collision.

1. Collision will be on Steam, itch.io, and Gamejolt. After bug fixes, content updates, and all that jazz, work will begin on porting to Xbox and Windows Store. No promises on the Xbox port being released, but I can promise that it will be attempted. To the best of my ability.

2. A trailer will be released a few days after launch. This trailer will oversee the content being added in the future and showcasing the Roadmap.

3. Content updates will include an updated intro, some texture touch-ups, new music, jobs, new businesses, rebalancing, and an entire new dungeon floor along with a teaser for second third. I was planning on releasing the teaser in the original version, but due to a lot of problems and unforeseen issues in personal life, it will need to be delayed so testing can be completed.

4. First-Third will be focused on setting up two of the main characters. Second-Third will be focused on solving the murder mystery, and Final-Third will be focused on defeating the evil looming over Daniel's dimension.

5. There are few sidequests in the original release. I will be slowly adding more sidequests leading up to Second-Third to keep people engaged.

6. Sandbox mode will allow players to test new features as they are developed. Most of these features will be introduced during the story of Second-Third. So that is why there will be a separate mode.

7. Cheat codes will be implemented in content updates.

8. Collision First-Third has gone gold as of July 25th. This means it is ready for release.

Info Dump

Sorry, but I missed out on the updates I had planned the past two days due to things in my personal life. Sometimes, things can be a bit unpredictable when its only just me working. So, I apologize. So, here's 3 pieces of info beneath this paragraph.

1. Your main character is Daniel. Everyone say "Hi Daniel!!"

He has gotten into some trouble with the law before the events of the game. This causes him to be arrested, starting his adventure and leading him to meet a few of his friends that will accompany him on his journey. It's always been tough for him and his family, even more so when his Father left for war.

2. There will be two dungeons in Collision:First-Third. Each chapter will increase the number of dungeons. First Third is the smallest chapter by far with only two dungeons and 5 dungeon floors total. Second-third will increase this by over double.

3. There will be a mode added into First-Third a few days after launch. This mode will only be available during Early Access. Sandbox mode will allow you to test new features as they are added into the game. This will allow me to show progress without needing to introduce features into the story earlier than intended.

Release date revealed

You know what, I'm in a good mood. Tomorrow is my birthday and we are going into the release month for Collision: First-Third. So here's a little surprise.

Collision: First-Third releases July 29 for Steam.

More info will be released every day before July 29th starting July 10th. Each day, it will be somewhere different. Twitter(@mildraingames), or Steam community. HAVE FUNN!!!!
