Color Jumper v1.06 - Trading Cards!



Bit of a smaller update as far as the game itself, but an important one for card collectors. I just submitted Stream trading cards for approval! They should be rolled out within a day or two once the graphics are given the thumbs up.

A few other small features and improvements to the game. At this point, the game is as bug-free as any game can be. I consider the core game "done", but there are a lot more features that I'd love to possibly add in the future including stuff like extra level packs, leaderboards, and (maybe?) a level editor. Stay tuned! :)

New Features



  • Trading cards! - A new badge, 9 trading cards, 4 Steam backgrounds, and 4 Steam emoticons will be rolled out as soon as I get approval from Steam.


Bug Fixes



  • Subtly updated a few of the early levels for flow and to better teach the core mechanics.


Optimization



  • Set the max resolution to 1920x1080 on full screen. This will improve performance on 4k monitors.

Color Jumper v1.05 is live - New languages!



A bit of a wait for this update, but the holidays have been hectic! I have a few more ideas for updates over the next few months, but suggestions are always welcome!

New Features



  • New languages! - You can now play the game in English (US/UK), French, Russian, and German! Thanks to all the community members who put the time into helping translate.


Bug Fixes



  • Hopefully fixed rare cases where the game would eat your rotation input. Let me know if this is still happening.


Optimization



  • Made the gold times for several levels a bit more attainable.
  • Added another secret platinum time medal. Happy hunting :)

Color Jumper v1.04 is live - Ghost mode!

A few new nice features and bug fixes this time around.

New Features



  • Ghost mode! - Enable ghost mode in the main menu to turn on a ghost player that follows the path of your PB time. This is a great feature for optimizing and practicing new routes.
  • Death counter - Speedrun mode now has a counter that shows how many times you've died during the current run.



Bug Fixes



  • Made it so restarting a level doesn't count as a death, oops!
  • Minor tweaks to the menu text and graphics


Optimization



  • Updated the 180k Degrees achievement to 225k Degrees so it can be achieved by mere mortals.
  • Added a menu option that links directly to the official Color Jumper Discord channel. http://www.discord.gg/colorjumper
  • Completely redid the menu system, it should look and function basically the same. But, you know, now you know that it runs better.

Color Jumper v1.03 is live

Only a few minor fixes this time around, but larger things are on the way!

New Features



  • Updated the menu and game scripts to handle multiple languages, French and Russian coming soon!


Bug Fixes



  • Updated level 107 to hopefully remove any weird crashes and soft locks that have to do with random level generation
  • Fixed the Summit achievement so you have to beat ALL the bonus levels, not just the last one
  • Fixed level select so you have to beat the final boss to get access to the bonus stages


Optimization



  • Updated the player and enemy sprites to conform with platform coloring for regular and colorblind mode

Color Jumper v1.02 is live

This fix hopefully squashes a few movement issues that cropped up relating to moving platforms. There are a few more extremely minor problems I want to address in the future, but these updates should help fix suddenly dying for no reason, or getting stuck inside a black tile.

New Features



  • Game music position doesn't reset to the start every time you go back to the main menu
  • Game music intensity doesn't reset every time you go back to the main menu
  • Added Nausea achievement


Bug Fixes



  • Updated the timer to only display "(PB)" text when it is your actual personal best with a gold medal, this was broken in 1.01, oops
  • Changed how collectibles are destroyed since some pieces weren't getting removed properly
  • Added more detailed movement handling for getting stuck inside a solid block, should fix some movement issues in The Floor is Lava level
  • Added more detailed movement handling for being pushed by moving platforms; hopefully this will reduce the number of unexpected deaths


Optimization



  • Changed how Unity manages the audio files; no more 0.9gb of RAM taken up by music
  • Nudged version number on the main menu down so it looks more even

Color Jumper v1.01 is out!

The first official release! A few bug fixes and a features.

Features added



  • During speedrun mode, you have to hold the quit button for two seconds to exit the level. No more accidentally bumping the controller and losing 30 minutes.
  • Speedrun display now tells you which level you're on


Bug Fixes



  • Fixed 180k Rotations achievement so it actually works as intended
  • Time now displays go into hours for those extra long speedruns
  • Fixed a nasty bug where if you do multiple frame-perfect restarts in speedrun mode it starts to double your timer
