CFWARDOGS Update.

Dear valued customers,
After a few weeks of much needed rest from Commando Fodder: War Dogs, development will continue as of 21/05/2019. I just felt burned out with constant development 5 months straight and now I feel recharged and ready to continue. Below is what you can expect in the next few weeks / months.

- New Direct-X 11 renderer
This will improve overall performance and fix slow fade out issues on slower computers.

- New Music
Glyn ‘The Axe Man Savage’ Humphreys AKA TheRealOutlander and Nik Lloyd AKA Diives have been hard at work creating new tunes for the game, some of the older tunes have also been remastered. We have 3 new tunes coming soon!

- Major reconstruction of menus
I want to give you the player full control how you want to setup the game, control of sounds volume ect, options for the violence and control.

- Cutscenes
A massive part of what we do at DPAD-FTW is green screen chroma key acting. We find this method while old, still has its place in video games and shouldn’t be buried in the 90’s. We will use this to capture more graphics and implement a story to the game.

- New vehicles
We have plenty to work with and expect more to come! Helicopters anyone?

Hey there commandos, below are the new updates added from the date of the previous build to now. Have fun!

- Clickteam Core Updates to Fusion implemented into this build.
- Optimised Events
- Optimised Images Into RAM
- Optimised Samples played

- Fixed a bug, were player soldiers randomly changed animation direction to fast.

- Added a random music player to all levels.

- Fixed memory leak causing object ‘GORE: LEFT ARM 2’ to spawn many blood alpha effects.

- Corrected a spelling error in the global options menu.
- Cleaned up engine.
- Cleaned up objects.

- Added Mission 23 - DESERT GREENING
- Added Mission 24 - ROAD BLOCK
- Added Mission 25 - BIG BOOM TANKS

Random Level Generator and More!

The game now has a random level generator and loads more fixes.

- Developed Mission 22.
DESERT OF DESOLACE.

- Added the Random Level Generator.
Have fun with this. Millions of possibilities.

- Adjusted the ‘CALL TO ARMS’ soldier position around the mouse.

- Fixed Reloading by pressing [R] key.
Sometime randomly when pressing the [R] key to reload, they bullet counter would stay at 0 and soldier would not fire.

- Increased the reload time slightly for player soldiers.

- Increased player soldier speed slightly.

- A.I. detection when firing.
Soldier 2 to 6 would not scale the A.I. detection collision when firing the AK47.

- Reduced the number of dead enemy soldiers spawned by tanks when destroyed.

- Player’s bullets collide with tank.
Destroyed on collision and a gun ricochet noise has been added.

- Fixed the KIA animation when soldier dies.
Animation reported dead soldier was alive when pressing select soldier keys [1] – [6].

- Tanks can now be destroyed by player’s bullets.
Takes 400 bullets to destroy a tank.

- Enemy Sheds can now be destroyed by player bullets.
Takes 250 bullets to destroy a shed.

- Reduced debris from exploding houses.
This will save CPU time and also give the player a better chance of not getting hit from these objects.

- Soldier 6 Name bug.
Fixed a bug where explosion splash damage added to many values to the soldier 6 name counter.

- Updated rain effects.
When raining on a level, textures are now darker / wetter. (Demon)

Update 16/03/2019

Commandos! Big update this one. I feel the game is starting to look very polished but there is still loads of work to be done. You can see the changes below.

- Optimised all current 21 missions
Cleaned up all 21 Missions, they flow a lot better now and the difficulty on the first 10 missions have been reduce due to feedback.

- Remade the collision engine for the Player soldiers
Sometimes the A.I. of the player’s soldiers would get stuck on trees. This has been greatly improved and can be tweaked if needed in future updates.

- Fixed ‘Call To Arms’ HUD
When soldiers have different weapons selected and ‘Call To Arms’ is activated, weapons do not default to AK47 Rifle until user clicks left mouse button. They now default to AK47 when clicking ‘Call To Arms’ button or by pressing space. (Animation Issue) (Bug found by PlayJak @PlayJakSayBack)

- Added a new follow command for soldiers
When the [F] key is pressed on the keyboard while a single commando is selected, this produces a war dog graphic on screen. When an unselected soldier collides with this graphic, they will follow the selected soldier. They also produce covering fire automatically when and enemy soldier is present in their vicinity.
To call off following commandos, selected the current commando again or any other commando. Activating call to arms can also disable the commando following feature.

- Reduced the size of the level scroll object
This will help when firing at enemies.

- Redesigned the main menu
More animation! Better usability. Cleaner. Also removed the poppies from the menus and replaced them with war dog graphics.

- Added soldier icons
You can now tell which soldier is which, some people were getting confused at the start of each mission.

- Added in game pointer
You can now clearly see where your commando is going.

- Added a new sound track by Nik Lloyd / Diives @Diivesmusic1
Track 6 - A Hole In My Boggits

- Added a new sound track by Glyn Humphreys / @The1Outlander
Track 7 - Double Down

- Added more level collision to the outer areas of the level.
This should fix any enemies leaving the mission causing and unfinishable level.

Update 05/03/2019

Commandos! We have just updated the video files back to .MP4 Video, .MP3 Audio because a lot more people were having issues with the .WMV/.MP3 than .MP4.

If you still have no videos, we strongly recommend you install a video codec pack on your computer, such as K-LITE.

Also sorry for the larger file size, which is 500MB now.

Hey commandos! How you all doing? Made some massive progress today, below are the changes which were made.

- Added a reload function to the player soldiers, press the [R] key any time and every soldier in the platoon will reload.

- Added a new level, Mission 21 - Welcome To The Desert.

- Added Desert tile set. (More graphics to come)

- Enhanced Tree or other 8x8 and 16x16 collisions with player soldier. (Still needs work, but more playable now.)

- Added new weather effect (FMV) with cool alpha blending effects.
- Snow Blizzard
- Snowing With Fog
- Desert Storm
- Fog

- Added a warning prompt if you are unable to view videos (FMV's), if you get this prompt, please install K-LITE to view videos in the game.

Patch Updates - 02/03/2019

Just streamed some updates on my Youtube channel for Commando Fodder: War Dogs, the logs below commandos!

- Changed the FMV codex to .WMV and audio codec to .MP3, this will ensure maximum compatibility across all versions of Windows.
Any issues please let me know.

- Adjusted soldier point and click follow timing.

- Fixed issue with HUD select
When the player clicked on a soldiers weapons on the HUD, it would sometimes randomly not select that soldier. This has been fixed.
