Common’hood is a community building and economy management game with highly customizable base building tools. The game is set against the backdrop of an economic crash where the player is tasked with building a post-capitalist society. The player is challenged to go beyond survival and develop a thriving community with the odds stacked against them.

Active Development and Demo News

After working on Common'hood for a while, we have secured funding and thus the game has entered Active Development. Usually this sort of thing would mean everyone showing up at a place and sharing drinks to celebrate, but you ever try to set up a gamedev studio during a global pandemic? It’s hard.

Everyone at Plethora is pumped to get Common’hood into your hands to let you experience Nikki’s story and build a thriving community of your own, we can't wait!

Speaking of the game, we no longer feel that the Demo properly showcases what the game will eventually look and work like, therefore we're disabling it to prevent you from getting the wrong impression of it. Worry not, we're doubling down on updates and sharing progress from the team so you know what we're building.

Stay tuned, we're going places.

v00.01.107f3:
- Fixed lag on each building action caused by navmesh recalculation
- Tweaks to NPC behavior
- Hold to skip cutscenes are now faster
- Update to planter and solar panel indicators
- Fix to planter bugs caused by inventory key collisions

The sandbox demo is finally out!!

A few things to note:
- The sandbox will be available once you complete the story. That is - if you have a save where you repaired the crane and built the bridge, it will automatically and retroactively be unlocked.
- Two big new features we've been working on are also playable: tech tree and blueprint viewer. We hope the game itself will do a good job walking you through it :)
- There's a new way to plant! I want to mention this here since it's not in the tutorials yet. If you equip seeds/water you can plant or water planters by simply clicking on them.
- We've also included fixes to a bunch of the bugs reported a few weeks ago. Planter bugs, stuck in chair bugs, etc.
- We've activated our subreddit as an alternative for bug reporting now, so feel free to use it if that's your thing:

I personally feel that a reddit thread is easier for archiving.

Demo closing in a few days

Hello everyone,
Thanks for all the amazing support on our first demo.
We have received great feedback and have done 10 updates in the past weeks considering the comments of the community.
We want to announce that we will close the demo of Common'hood by Feb 10th, in order to continue development towards a new demo and release in the near future.
The demo will remain playable for those with a key, so this is the last chance to get one.

Free Demo Available Now!

Dear Friends,
We have just uploaded the first demo version of Common'hood available for free to test on Steam. The demo packs 2-4 hours of gameplay within the story campaign accessing the first few areas of the game and having access to our modeling engine.

You should receive a steam key by following the instructions.

The Demo will be live for a limited time.

We have allocated 200 keys on a first come first serve basis.
