Experience Conscious Existence in new ways! Brand new app with customisation.

Hello beautiful souls!

I created a brand new Conscious Existence application for SteamVR and Meta Quest 2, which adds replay value by allowing for multiple viewing modes (making for a higher perceived image quality and some trippy feels :sparkles:), voice selection (additional male option), separate sliders for voice, music and sound effects, as well as image adjustments.

The app uses a similar menu/ui to what I'm building for my next application Realms of Flow, so you are getting a little glimpse of what's coming. :)

On Steam the app will automatically be updated to the new version. It includes now 3 versions of the content file for maximum compatibility. By default it uses the origial H264 file - if it runs smoothly, don't change anything, it offers the best quality. Additionally you can choose 1) a new H265 file at the same resolution but a little less detail, which may work smoother on some systems, which struggle with the original file or 2) a lower resolution H264 file, previously included in the "Win 7/8 version" for compatibility with older systems and all AMD cards. You can delete unused content files in-app if you're tight on disk space.
There is a keybord fallback included (Press 'K') to access all functionality incl. menu settings, if you want or have to use the keyboard instead of controllers.
If for some reason you'd like to use the old application you can do so in your library (right click on app -> Properties -> Betas).

To use the new app on your Quest 2 you will have to install it using SideQuest. (Get it here: https://gumroad.com/l/UFjgp, the application download is included for everyone who already purchased the mobile MP4-only version on Gumroad). Installation is a bit more complicated than before, where you just had to copy the content file onto the device, but it's worth it! (see Gumroad description)
Maybe it will be on the Meta AppLab at some point for easier installation, but for that there is still some cumbersome technical behind-the-scenes work to do for me and eventually it will depend on the good will of Meta. :robot:

Let me know what you think and have a conscious day!

DeepStates [VR] coming soon!

Dear Virtual Explorers!

If you liked 'Conscious Existence' you may like my latest Project 'DeepStates [VR]' as well.
It's designed to calm your mind and let you drift away in compelling settings with dense atmospheres. The idea was also shaped by the feedback I received from the community for 'Conscious Existence' e.g. regarding the ability to stay longer in scenes, the need for 6-DOF and customisation options.

DeepStates [VR] is targeted towards high-end PC-VR, so if you fit that niche within a niche, put your GPU on ice already and join the community on Discord! ːsteamhappyː

The Early Access version will hit in a couple of days, add to your wishlist now!

All the best,
Marc aka. EpicScapes

FIXED - Controller Issues

  • Controller issues which were introduced with recent SteamVR updates have now been fixed, it should work fine again with all headsets and controllers.
  • Keyboard shortcuts as fallback solution have been made more obvious directly in the UI.

WIN7/8 Compatible Version Added

<*> There is now a WIN 7/8 compatible version available that you can install by opting into the beta branch called "win7-8-alternative": Right-click the app in your library -> Properties -> Betas
<*> This one has a resolution of 4096*2304px instead of 4096*4096px due to older WIN systems having an outdated "Media Foundation" framework.
<*> Other min. system specs still apply (also see FAQ thread in discussion section for infos).

Index Support and Keyboard Shortcuts Added

  • App now also works on the Index VR Headset

  • Added Keyboard Shortcuts: Play/Pause - Space; R - Reset View; L - Toggle Voice-Over.
Make sure the app window is in focus for those to work.

NOW UPDATED || Toggle Voice // Reset View // Black Levels

  • You can now turn off the girl's voice-over using your Vive/Touch controllers if you wish.
  • View can be re-oriented horizontally as well as vertically if you like, so you may also lie down while watching.
  • Black Levels have been reduced (= more perceived contrast) to a point that is more pleasant to the eyes, as much as it was possible without introducing any artifacts.

Hope you enjoy! ːsteamhappyː

P.S: I'm planning to add the WIN7/8 compatible version with a bit reduced resolution as DLC package, so not everyone has to download an extra 10GB. Coming soon - but until then just shoot me an e-mail after purchase and I'll set you up (address see support contact info).

Update to Toggle Voice Over

As this was requested a couple of times there will soon be an update with a switch to toggle the voice over on/off as well as probably a re-center button.
I'm planning to release the update by the end of June latest.
