Added a Carrier, new type of zombie, to Zombie Panic Game modes! Also, updated the game mode to allow faster weapon switching for survivors and jumping reduces stamina drain on zombies. Released patch 2.1.6.3. which is the current version.

Last week worked on implementing the new minigames and started the process for Playstation port. Added double handed gripping functionality. So, two handing is in! Hope you are all excited!

Polish with minigames, fine tuning all the new features such two handed gripping. Developing the required art and assisted Lawrence in minigames map.

Working on cinematic screens of the available levels including the newly added Zen Mini-Game map.

General



  • Added Carrier into Panic! gamemodes

  • Updated translations
  • Updated Panic! gamemodes to allow for AI (cp_allow_ai), off by default
  • Updated Panic! gamemodes to allow for fast weapon switching
  • Updated Panic! gamemodes jumping to be 25% instead of 80% (default) stamina drain for zombie team


  • Fixed zombie damage data not being in sync with the new damage factor
  • Fixed shotgun blast dealing either too much or too little damage (basically, it just randomised the damage output for some odd reason)
  • Fixed kill feed on Panic! modes
  • Fixed a crash on Panic! mode regarding the bots
  • Fixed some zombie models using eugene arms
  • Fixed Infected AI trying to hit weapons instead of the player

  • Added "array Utils.FindEntityInSphere( Vector& origin, float& size )" to the API


General



  • Added the new snow particle
  • Added static view camera option (useful if you get motion sick, or if the camera just oofs up on high latency servers.)
  • Added item_money for flatline. Money now gets spawned from the zombies when they get killed. Assisted players still get instant money. The money also cannot be picked up by other players. The entity also fly forwards the player after 3 seconds if they do not pick it up.
  • Added new thirdperson animations for survivors (such as the fire extinguisher finally having their own animations)
  • Added "View Camera Static" under Options > Video
  • Added "Reverse/Inverted Mouse" under Options > Mouse

  • Updated Memory Management (More stability)
  • Updated Zombie AI hitboxes
  • Updated population nav data, to allow custom zombie models to use "HELMET" and "TYPE_FAT"

  • Fixed flamethrower on Flatline causing friendly fire when it shouldn't (if FF is disabled)

  • Updated ce_biotec_christmas version (fixed some brushes using the wrong texture)
  • Updated the as scripts (and the vscript) for ce_biotec
  • Updated the navigation mesh for ce_biotec, this should fix where the AI goes "where is player" for some reason or another.

Hello everyone, we are back for Dev blogs! It has been a while and we want to keep folks informed what everyone on the team has worked on.


Contagion

#TeamJohan has been making more progress on the game with more bug fixing and crashes. He also has been prototyping snow particles this week on Aurora estates.

In the next patch, Zombie difficulty has been adjusted. Shooting their dead bodies won't kill them as quickly as before, basically, their bodies are bullet sponges. Their main weak point is now their heads. Flatline got a small update, money now drops when the zombie gets killed. The money also moves to the player after 3 seconds, so you don't need to worry about picking it up. The engine got updated; what this means is that x64 bit is slowly getting more stable. More news to come, when I can. x64 bit Release date is still TBA.

#TeamMonochrome last week we released HeadCount into early access. This week each team member has been working on polish and new content!



#TeamLawrence has made some cool new prototyped minigames, with the hope of adding a new one tonight. There are now 7 Preset Skeet modes to choose from. Check out the gifs!

Small Update: 2.1.6.1

New Options UI


The entire options has been redesigned to not only support controller input, but also splitscreen and controller configurations. This means that "Console Mode" will be removed from the boot selection (when clicking on Play button on Steam). You can however still force the game in console mode using the startup parameter "--controller_mode".

2020.03.04 News update!

Hey everyone! Here is the latest on Contagion.

Split screen is finally fixed! Awesome work Johan!



From Johan:
"I fixed the sniper scope being oof on splitscreen. I also, figured out why "Refract" texture is all oof on splitscreen (and why valve removed it from l4d2 xbox version). Its because they didn't make it check the splitscreen viewport at all, so it goes all oof if splitscreen is enabled. Very nice. I fixed it by adding a simple "if splitscreen, don't be oof."





CE_LastStop
New Escape Map in the works!
At the moment, the map is only on SVN build (part 3 taking some time, and since Johan can't do any work tomorrow, it will take just a bit longer)

Here are a few screenshots of part 1 and part 2 and some bits of part 3 (starting area location)
Also took screenshots of biolabs (as it will be part of laststop as well eventually).
You may recognize the first part as the Hunted mode map Union Station. We have utilized it for the new escape map. As well as an older unused train assets. There is no current release date for LastStop, but if you'd like, we could use more playtesters to test out the first 2 levels of LastStop. Head to our discord to sign up!

Memory Management Updated


Now, the game will only take up to 1.5GB of memory (on most small maps), or up to 2GB (on very large maps, such as montclair, barlowesquare and the community map hotz, instead of ~3.2GB).
