Prior to the new update, we're officially moving servers to a more faster, and a more efficient server which will provide all game information to the players. Because of this, players will need to download the patch using the link below so that your client can connect to the old server successfully.

Custom Servers coming to CONTASION 2
Shortly after the release of the new update (date not yet announced), I will be releasing the official third party server project which will be available for anybody to download.
Introducing Third Party Servers
Do you want to have complete control over your own server that you host? Do you want to add certain game modes and events that you cannot do normally? Soon, you can!
Want something different? As mentioned in the previous announcement, there are now player skills and much more content which is being added to the next update. But I want players to have the ability to do whatever they want on a different server not hosted by the developer. So I've decided to make an open-source Server Project which CONTASION 2 will connect to.
Tutorials included I'll be writing a 3,000 word tutorial on how to understand the multiplayer; such as the connectivity and TCP/UDP ports. I will also be explaining how to add events to the game and objects you have never seen before.
No 'enter IP address' needed! If you have ever played the now-abandoned CONTASION 1, you couldn't connect to any server without an IP address. Now, anybody who hosts a custom server will automatically appear on the server list menu in the game, meaning the player doesn't have to find you via IP.
Want more than 24 players per server? Custom Server developers can select how many players they want in their server at the same time, players can have up to 150 players in their server if they wanted to.
Custom content I am now supporting the ability to add custom menus, scripts, and instances to the game that you may have not seen before. It is up to you, as the server developer, to add these.
Fewer limitations Developers can set where they want traffic, pedestrians and weapons to spawn. They can set whether or not to give you permanent god mode, they can set your spawn health, armour, and ammo. They can add bots, fixtures or an entire new map!
The ability to report a player will be disabled in custom servers, as no support can be provided from the developer (alexcjw) due to the fact that the custom servers do not write logs (unless this is implemented). The Jump List, weapon/adrenaline/painkiller/drugs & plants will also be disabled as the support for these is provided by the Game Provider (global server). However, the Custom Server developer can freely add his own content.
This idea has been revised for a long time and originally wasn't going to be introduced, but because of the capabilities of the Game Provider, I'm excited to release this to you
This will be available for anybody to download for free shortly after the release of the new update.

What's coming to CONTASION 2
What's new in version 1.2 (release date to be announced)
I'm happy to announce that the current version of CONTASION 2 has been under the hammer. The game now includes dozens of features to make the multiplayer more enjoyable, and not as repetitive. I have also fixed many glitches I have received through the support email.
This game is no longer suitable for people under the ages of 18.
Introducing the Auto Updater
CONTASION 2 will now feature a separate application which will check for updates and then launch the game. This process takes less than 10 seconds (if an update is not required). This feature is especially handy if something needs hot-patching more effectively. When important updates are deployed to you, an announcement will be posted on Steam also.

Introducing Player Skills
I wanted to make the game more enjoyable, with many key features which help distinguish this top-down sandbox from others. Player Skills allow each player to have the ability to offer other players a service of some kind. Below are a list of skills.
SKILL: Hitman All players except hitmen can place hits on other players for £1,000. It is then the hitman's responsibility to take that player down for the cash reward. When you're a skilled hitman, other players will have an X icon next to their nametag which will flash continuously until they are killed.
If you are a regular player and you have a hit on your head, then hitmen will have a skull icon next to their nametag.
SKILL: Mechanic Players who are mechanics can offer other players services. Other players can purchase the following items from mechanics:
NOS canisters Players can fit their vehicle with NOS at any time when they have a canister in their inventory.
Vehicle Repair Kit One of these handy kits can completely fix your vehicle. This can be done by exiting your vehicle and pressing the displayed button when near the front of your vehicle.
Fix Vehicle This options allows the mechanic to fix your vehicle instantly for a specified amount
Red Paint This paint will completely colour your vehicle bright red. (excluding police cars)
SKILL: Drug Dealer Players can now consume drugs which will refill their health for a short amount of time. The more drugs that are consumed, the more of your health will be replenished. Any players (including Drug Dealers) can purchase drugs from Andreas: a BOT which will walk around the streets disguised as a regular pedestrian until you approach him. Andreas will not be marked on the minimap for players who are not drug dealers. The services that a dealer offers are as follows;
1g of drugs One gram cannot be consumed at a time. The player must consume at least 10g. 10g will completely refill the player's health.
Drug Bag This allows anybody to hold more than the standard 250g of drugs.
Plant Seed When you hold a plant seed, you can plant a drug anywhere. This plant will then begin growing drugs until it is caught by a police officer or torched by another online player. Drugs can be harvested from the plant at any time.
20 pistol bullets Drug Dealers also offer a pistol to anybody who wants one.
SKILL: Food Vendor Players can offer food to other players to replenish their health. The following items can be sold:
1) Cola Can
2) Coffee
3) Pint of milk
4) Biscuit
SKILL: Private Medic Private Medics can give medical attention to other players. The following items can be sold:
Heal Player This will refill the player's health
Buy 1x STD kit This will cure the player of any outstanding STDs
Buy 1x condom This will prevent the player from attracting an STD if they are violated by another player
Buy a chlamydia/gonorrhea/syphilis needle Buying one of these diseases will be detrimental to your health. Each disease will take up to 1HP every second. If the player is on drugs, the drugs will help prevent the diseases from taking so much health.
SKILL: Kidnapper Kidnappers can lure other online players into their vehicle by simply sounding their horn. Once a player is in the vehicle with you, the kidnapper can then lock the vehicle doors and take them to a disguised dungeon where the victims cannot escape unless another online player pays their ransom of £1,000.
All victims will slowly perish. If they completely die, they will lose £1,000, and this will be credited to the kidnapper.
SKILL: Arms Dealer Arms Dealers can offer weapons to other online players. If you are an Arms Dealer and another player purchases weapons from you, the weapons will be taken from your inventory, so it is important to fill up your weapons from Buck.
SKILL: Carjacker Carjackers have the ability to break into other player's vehicles if they are locked. They also have the ability to sell vehicles at the Vehicle Crane for up to £80,000 (depending on the quality of the vehicle)
Introducing the Carlton Rooftop Party
Every Friday in the City of Pliston, all players can enter the Club Carlton Rooftop Party for £6. Entering this rooftop will disconnect you from the current server, and instead enter you into a private server full of people who are also on the rooftop.
Rooftop Information 1) Violence is disallowed: players are stuck with their fist
2) Drinks cost up to £4 (£2 per shot)
3) Loud music will be sounding all night
4) The club will close on Saturday at 5am
5) Upon leaving, you will be returned to your old server, or another if slots are unavailable
Introducing the Player List
Everyone can now select options for other online players through the Jump List. The following options can be selected for each player:
Vote to Kick This option will help vote to kick the specified player. If more than half of the server votes; the player will be unable to join that server until the following day.
Report (to the Dev) This option will submit a report to the developer. Action is usually taken within the first week. The CONTASION 2 Behaviour Policy will soon be released to the public.
Waypoint Mark this player on the map
Private Message This option will send a private message to the specified player.
Give 1g of Drugs Give the specified player 1g of Drugs
Send £10 Give the specified player £10
Hit for £1,000 Order a hit contract on this player (this will result in a warrant for you)
Introducing CONTASION 2 Poker (Aka Queen of Hearts)
Players can now play Texas Hold'Em Poker in CONTASION 2 with up to 5 other players! All active sessions will be displayed in the Server Menu.
Additional information
There is one more skill which I haven't listed due to it being completely obscene. Everyone can select this hidden skill if they play CONTASION 2.

Vindication is Pliston's most favourite place to eat. Whether you want something classy, or just a snack, in a what was once a derelict building, featuring one large table for 8, and half broken bar stools you can't sit on. Players can purchase fries, burgers and milkshakes from Vindication to replenish the player's health.
What's Vindication Monopoly?
Each time you purchase food at the restaurant, you will be given a sticker which can be peeled off the side of the food, giving players the potential to win up to £100,000 cash in-game.
How it works Players need to earn three stickers of a certain colour. It's that simple!
Mustard: Street names - win 3 stickers for the chance to earn £100k
Maroon: Lane names - win 3 stickers for the chance to win a Pet Parrot*
Navy: School names - win 3 stickers for the chance to win 1M Poker Chips*
Players will be instructed with what to do upon entering the restaurant.

Pet parrot* Pet parrots will protect the player from attacks. When another online player steals from you, the pet parrot may attack the criminal, potentially killing them without giving the player a warrant. Parrots can be named and will constantly follow the player.

Introducing the new patch for CONTASION 2 and Online
I'm pleased to announce the new update for CONTASION 2 and Online. Thank you to the players who submitted bugs through email. I've collated these and less than one month later, and here's what's fixed.
As explained before, players who purchased the game before yesterday will be given £10,000 to spend on anything in Pliston. Simply start up the game and the money will be credited to your account.
What's new?
This first official update only patches the bugs, with small content included. I couldn't have added anything huge in such a short amount of time, but I've got dozens of concepts that I want to make a reality in the next update. Stay tuned.

CONTASION 2 now supports multiple licences! Did you buy the game with the intention to put it on multiple devices in your house? The game now supports multiple licences. Simply run the game and enter in the key provided by Steam, once you validate the game once, feel free to launch the game on another device on your network. The first device that was activated will broadcast the licence to all devices on your network.
Windows 10, 8, 8.x crashing issues
Due to the engine which developed CONTASION 2, people running on an OS newer than Windows 7 will experience game crashes within minutes of gameplay. However, there is a quick and easy way to fix this:
1) Right click on your Contasion 2 executable (.exe)
2) Select 'properties'
3) Go to compatibility
4) Run the program in compatibility mode
5) Select Windows XP (SP2) or Windows 7
6) Apply and OK
I understand that this can be tedious but I'll be working on a permanent fix for this. For more information, click here
Languages
Players may experience bugs if they are creating CONTASION Online accounts with letters not supported by the English QWERTY keyboard. For now, please ensure that every string is entered with letters on the traditional QWERTY keyboard. This includes: Online names, pet names, appeal statements, wishing well wishes and passwords.

Patch 1.11 - All You Need To Know
I'm happy to announce that the first official patch for CONTASION 2 will be available for you on the 21st May 2016.
What's fixed? We've listened to you and have fixed almost everything listed in just under a month. We hot-patched many bugs on the first week after the release, but now here is a permanent fix.
Crashing Issues
Due to CONTASION 2's Sound Engine being unsupported by DirectX, players who are running on an operating system newer than Windows 7 may experience crashes just minutes after starting the game. This is caused by the heavy use of sound effects in the game.
How to fix 1) Locate the 'Contasion 2.exe' file
2) Right click 'Contasion 2.exe' and select Properties
3) Navigate to Compatibility
4) Select 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:'
5) Select either Windows 7 or XP (SP3)
We understand that this can be tedious but it's the quickest way to get playing.
Content coming after the patch
We're always adding to the City of Pliston and we're always altering instances in CONTASION 2, so you can expect more and more content to hit you very soon. We've had hundreds of requests and we'll be picking our favourites and ensuring that these are added in the Update 1.2

We've reviewed the issues discovered since the launch and we'll be releasing a new update coming early next month with bug fixes.
Hot-patches We'll be fixing as many issues as we can without forcing you to update the game.
- An issue which caused the game to be pitch-black at night time has been fixed.
- Vehicles will now spawn much more frequently in both Free Roam and CONTASION Online

Coming to Steam this Saturday
We're pleased to announce that Contasion 2 will be coming to Steam this Saturday 23rd April 2016. After 25 months of development, we've ensured that players have a minted experience in CONTASION 2 and in the City of Pliston.
The game will be discounted for one week after the release!
Players will receive double XP/££ every day for one week after the release Do you want that special weapon you've been waiting to buy? You'll need to rank up! Players can rank up by performing certain activities in Pliston, things as simple as fishing and doing rampages can earn the player a fortune.
Creating a Contasion Online Account
In order to access Contasion Online, players will need to sign up for an account. All accounts are backed up and stored forever. Player data is also stored on your account so you can access your game data from any location.
Nickname Nicknames can be whatever you want them to be (3-12 characters)
Email required A valid email is required for if we ever have to contact you regarding your account. We will not use this to promote anything to you.
Get the Online Nametag you want! Once the nametag is gone, it's gone! You can email admin@alexcjw.co.uk before the release if you would like a name reserving just for you.
Become a verified player
Do you happen to be a fan? Players can become verified easily. Verification reduces taxes, as well as providing the player with 100% armor when spawning, with a neat little tick next to your name at all times.
How do I become verified? If you have a YouTube account and upload regular gaming videos to your channel, you would be eligible to apply for game verification.
If you promote the game, or happen to be a recognised or helpful player, you have a pretty good chance of being verified also.
How to apply Simply email admin@alexcjw.co.uk with subject 'verification', and state why you think you should be verified, and link any YouTube clips you have uploaded, or just email me your nametag if you think you're a helpful player.

We perform regular updates on the server and client executable(s). You will be notified in-game regarding an available update. As stated in the introduction of the game, please email any bug/glitches to admin@alexcjw.co.uk
I want to ensure that players receive help when necessary. We try our best to get back to you within 24 hours of submitting an enquiry through email.
