cool kid cody's done, but the updates aren't. here's a list of stuff that's been updated, and a heads up about some of the episodes going free tomorrow, read below!
version 3.29
code has been updated in preparation for episodes s1e2, s1e3, s2e2, and s2e3 becoming free tomorrow (june 14, thanks for your patience while we figure that out)! from now on, those who get those episodes for free will not get the badge, (it'll remain exclusive to those who paid to play those episodes earlier on). thank you again for all your support! as a heads up, your badges are tied to the persistent file located in the local files (Steam > steamapps > common > Cool Kid Cody > game > saves). if you plan on reinstalling the game/wiping your computer and are concerned about losing your badge, back up that persistent file! if you believe you should have the badge but don't, or want to report any bug really, email us at 90percentstudios@gmail.com or bug us on social media. fixed the finale so mini pastes the new photos into the yearbook whether you've only found 1 photo or all 3 (she used to only do it if it were all 3).
made it so even if you only get the third unlockable photo in the finale, it'll still turn to dusk on the beach.
added alternate episode icons that show whether you’ve unlocked the chillectrical move for that episode.
edited color of peter’s eyes in his sword sprite, the gray shade was too dark before.
edited tight heights so crescent high in the distance had its new design in the finale
moved some character positioning during the finale during pie’s scene so he wouldn’t be blocked by the textbox as much.
reformatted episode titles in the episode selection screen
made textboxes slightly transparent to show more bg/character art behind it. as a result we reorganized textbox files so that text tails are no longer separate .pngs from the textbox itself. makes it easier to edit n all that!
increased space around the title of each menu to prep for larger text sizes for the mobile version.
reformatted credits slightly.
Cool Kid Cody: Final Episode
hey yall, it's me, past denny, writing at 12:44 am because in proper 90% fashion we're pulling an all nighter to make sure this episode's as good as possible before it goes out, and in the looks at watch many years of game devving i've had, i now have enough foresight to know i'll be unable to write a single word come morning, and there's a lot i want to say, mainly THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR PLAYING!!

hahah jk, i seriously don't know how to show my appreciation for all that you guys have contributed to this lil fandom, all your theorizing, memery, fanart and simping for cody's dad is the lifeblood of 90%, and i'm forever grateful for it. this is the most time and effort we've EVER put into a project, so thanks for making it all worthwhile! we had a lot of fun working on it, getting to know the characters, man, i like don't want to let go................. anyway have a great friday, i hope the finale wrapped things up as nicely as possible and if it didn't, welllll maybe i'll do something about that next year.

Free Episodes Announcement
hey y’all, denny here, i’ve got a special announcement to make in terms of the monetization of the game! instead of just the first episode being free, the first THREE episodes of each season will be free. more specifically:
season 3’s first three episodes will be free upon launch!
s1 episode 2, s1 episode 3, s2 episode 2 and s2 episode 3 will be made free on june 7th!
as a token of our appreciation to those who paid for those four episodes, you have been awarded the prestigious “#1 ckc fan badge” on the main menu of your game. yes, you alone, if you’re reading this and paid for any of those episodes, are the #1 fan. don’t tell anyone else. the badge changes depending on how many of those four episodes you’ve paid for. all you have to do is launch the game with the specific episode dlc active and the badge will become a part of your game!
that’s the main stuff, but if you wanna see me rambling a little more, read on!
we decided to make more episodes free for a few reasons: i felt bad about all three seasons culminating to a total cost of $43ish USD (and that’s WITH the 20% discount from bundling). when i’d originally priced things i was going off of how we priced our other game, purrfect apawcalypse 3, which was $6.99 USD. divided by its 3.5 distinct “levels”, i thought $1.99 per episode of cool kid cody felt fair. now i feel like it’s a bit steep, especially since we’d like to eventually port cool kid cody to the google play store and offering such an expensive game on mobile feels unfair.
i also thought about upping the discount on the bundle instead, but didn’t want to bump up against steam’s caveat wherein the average price per item in a bundle must be at least $0.49 USD (and if we dip below that, the dlc won’t be visible to you at all). we’ve had a few issues with this before, especially when currencies suddenly inflate/we offer sales on top of the bundle, so i thought it’d be less complicated to lower the overall cost of the game by making more episodes free.
anyway, i waffled over how to do this in a way that’d be kind towards future players, but also appreciative of the players who supported us by paying for those first episodes as soon as they came out. i know it isn’t much, but i hope you enjoy the badge. your support helped us bring this massive project to completion and i can’t be thankful enough for you playing our games, participating in fundraisers and making amazing fan content. you’re seriously cool in the real way and we really appreciate you.

Season 3 Changelog!
heya everyone!! it's that time of year again, weekly releases of cool kid cody will be starting this friday, april 5th! in preparation we've started this new changelog which we'll be updating anytime we update the game for an episode release. if you're wondering if a bug's been fixed, it should be listed here, with most recent changes at the bottom! thanks and i hope you enjoy the new episodes. :) - denny
version 3.00 * added speech cadence to voice bites! * fixed issue where character+narrator voice bites play indefinitely after dialogue ends. * tweaked the look of some character assets, it's pretty subtle but maybe you'd notice. * added readme file for file snoopers. * added season 3 cameo characters. * updated cameo character file organization. this may cause some old save files to glitch out, sorry about that! * reorganized cameo character credits so names are organized by season, and then alphabetically. oc names only appear once (so say you got an oc in season 1, and then got a prom outfit for them in season 3, they'd appear closer to the top of the credit list in the season 1 section. * changed cody's body assets so in s2e10 he looks all floaty in the void. * lowered disco ball in s2e10 so it's more clickable for future episodes. * also removed some vines and made the tables look less detailed in the gym. too much stuff goin on.
version 3.02 * andante and harmony lost their wings, they're back now!
version 3.03 * some small fixes related to the upcoming episode!
version 3.04 * rhyme was crashing the game whenever she appeared, should be fixed now!
Post-Season Changelog!
bug fixes * you are now able to attain "repolarization", the achievement for acing every chillectrical move in season 2! it looked like there was an issue with episode 9 specifically, when you aced the move it did not contribute to the achievements requirements. it should be fixed now, but you may have to replay the aced move scene in ep 9! * when gaining points in episode 10, the fx would overlay with mini's wings still instead of her feather. have now fixed that! * mini's sprite wouldn't animate out of the scene after speaking with konyami. fixed!
currently looking into: * there's a bug where some narrator sound bites will continue playing even after the dialogue has completed, or where sound bites act funky when you fast forward through dialogue. * fixed a bug where stickers on the computer weren't highlighting when clickable (a secret something that happens when you boot up a lucky episode). disabled stickers and the powerbutton when hidden behind the computer disks, moreso to help out people who toggle between buttons using the arrow keys. its still wonky as heck so while we fix this, i've removed the arrows and enter keys from the list of controls in the info menu. they'll still work somewhat but i just don't want to advertise them as a way of controlling the game if they're buggy as heck.
Season 2 Episode 1 Out Now! + New Background Original Characters!
season 2 episode 1 is officially out as free DLC! :) this marks the start of season 2. every friday i'll post another episode until all 10 are out. also, as part of a fundraiser new background original characters have been added to the game. thank you so much to everyone who contributed! and for anyone who would like to get in on this, we're still accepting submissions, click the link above for more info!
in the meantime, i probably won't have time to make a drawing every release day like i did last season so i employed super-tech-support andy to make a meme instead. thank you apple man.

Small Bug Fixes!
fixed a few small bugs: * you could click on the background buttons in nebuland while in the cutscene between juvie and pizza boy, interrupting the scene. that background buttons have been disabled during the cutscene now! * edit: seems like this bug occurred whenever cody's inventory appeared/was replaced by another inventory, for example during the last scene of episode 5 when pizza boy's bike in his inventory appears. all instances of this bug have (hopefully) been fixed! * edit: the bus in episode 6 wasn't flush with the left side of the screen, should be now. * edit: there was a formatting error in episode 7 when cody interacts with the mall. line breaks were all wacky, should be fixed now. * edit: made the behind the scenes content hidden in trash cans easier to get. before, you had to be very lucky to find them. now there's a 50% chance you'll find one per episode in any trash can. * edit: the friendlicious fist bump achievement was unattainable due to a glitch. it's now been fixed. if you've already played through all the aced-chillectrical-move scenes, you may have to play through one again (any should work) in order to trigger the achievement. * edit: on the phone's main navigation menu, your cursor turned into a hand when hovering over the phone button, even though clicking it would no nothing at that point. its now been fixed so your cursor doesn't turn into a hand.

bug fixes as of version 2.16: * episode title correction: episode 16 was accidentally labeled as 17 and episode 17 as 16. * game crashed on start up for some people, likely related to something with the disk menu (more specifically, the variable "s1d2out"). it's since been fixed (hopefully!) * for some users their photos, save data, etc might be wiped upon update. this may be because within the game's script files there are defaults set for each persistent variable. i've changed things so those defaults aren't necessary for most cases (with the exception of the behind the scenes files, still testing on that). * fixed bug where, when in game and opening the phone to look at photos, you could only see photos from within the season of the episode you were playing. also, if you were playing through a scene where you unlocked a photo, entering the menu during that scene and toggling through photos would cause the photo in game to also toggle, if that makes sense.

Cool Kid Cody's Massively Average Update! (And also a hugely cool sale)
hi everyone!! its that time of year again, when the skies turn pink, the moon grows 4 times its size and everyone's prepping for the end of the school year. cool kid cody's first year anniversary is coming up and to celebrate there's a huge sale! (we would've done 90% off but unfortunately you can't go under 0.49 USD, so 80% off it is.) the sale will last from march 27th 10 am pdt to april 3 10 am pdt (and affects our other games too!)
aside from that, the cool kid cody series got a big update! you can watch the youtube vid for the gist of it or read the changelog below. i'll be making a few more announcements related to the game, one exclusively on twitter, so if you wanna keep up, feel free to follow me there. anyway i think that's it for now, thanks so much for enjoying our dumb little games, it makes me so happy to make stuff like this and share it with yall. have an awesome rest of your day! ^u^
changelog (in no particular order, and in as much detail as possible)
characters now have voice sound bites when they talk.
animated text has been added throughout dialogue.
some dialogue has been tweaked to fix typos or make more sense or be slightly more funny.
extra behind the scenes art can be found in trash cans at random.
speaking of, the info menu now has behind the scenes art along with controls and credits.
a few new achievements have been added.
you can explore a bit more freely in episodes 1 and 3, where originally you couldn't backtrack outside much.
in episode 1 if you backtrack to alarmy after making it through the book fair. there's a new interaction with them.
season and episode numbers are written below save and load slots.
a few more sound effects were added, and all sound has been re-leveled to be on par with the other sound channels.
some full screen THWACK effects have been swapped for POW and WHAM, just to mix it up.
your cursor turns into a hand when hovering over something clickable.
you can return items at steve's skateshop.
renamed the "options" button to "settings" so it matches the label of the actual menu.
removed holden's nose from his background sprite (he doesn't need it, he smells enough as is).
one word of dialogue per episode now explodes after x amount of seconds.
cody starts off episode 1 just named cody, for symbolism and poetics or whatever.
in episode 1 once g-ma leaves the house, cody can blast britton spears on his tv all he wants.
you can use the ESC button to close your phone and other menus.
cody's proof of candidacy is now visible when he's winking during his handspring in episode 3.
some character positioning on screen has changed (for example, if you click on the lefthand door at the bookfair, cody will be facing left, instead of originally he was always facing right).
somehow you could click on page # on the load and save screens and straight up rename the page, with incorrect alignment. it was kinda messy so that's been removed.
slanguage arts class has a filter over the music, mostly for a vibe change when entering the room.
added secrets, but i won't get into details cuz they're secret, duh.
edit: totally forgot to mention, added a skip overlay so when you skip, you really know you skip.
edit: unarchived files so you can go into the folders and mess with images heheheh.
