Corpse Mansion - Update Release 1.3.8

If you want to see the game grow, please consider leaving us a review. It's not easy to find time to update a game when sales are stagnant. We're not saying the game won't ever get completed, because it will. It's been a passion project and is important to the team, so ultimately it will get done, but the cost of living has gone up due to inflation here in Canada, which has made for trying times and unfortunately contributes to update frequency. We thank you for your understanding and your continued support.

Please restart a new game to enjoy all the new features as intended.

Updates



  • Changed it so that Casual players will get the P99-SP instead of the P99 in the beginning of the game.
  • Changed it so that you will now get the UZI-SMG instead of the MP5-SMG on Highway 20.
  • Changed your reward to be the Desert Eagle only on Casual after you save Daren Miller. (You must demand a reward to steal the iron key from his possession to get into the room that holds the gun).
  • Updated game mode help window texts.
  • Made a lot of adjustments to the games difficulty which in turn gave us a massive performance boost. Players were complaining about it being too hard anyways, the game should now be easier on its respective difficulties.
  • Changed which drops you can get significantly from cutting grass.
  • Some minor changes to the intro scene to make the NPC's more engaging and diverse in personality.
  • Gun parts have been over-hauled and more blueprints and parts have been placed in the world.
  • Added new more distinct animated red arrow in gun part mechanics tutorial.
  • Added new arrow to help direct players to the right entrance to The Grand Marinette in Hell City.
  • Changed some out-dated rewards to match the newer game mechanics in the Harbour Shed.
  • Added some searchable vehicles and designed Old Hospital Exterior for new chapter in Hell City.
  • We put in a lot of time on Chapter 3: The Forsaken Girl (it's about 75% done). The rest of the chapter will be done shortly and be included in our next regular update. The team is excited to move on to Chapter 4.
  • The side mission "A Radical Idea" can now be completed and is actually required to gain enough friendship with Evan for him to open up and talk about his daughter for the main mission (this will make the air breathable again in Hell City).


Bug Fixes



  • Fixed a bug where the hanging corpse in the penthouse suite was misaligned.
  • Fixed multiple instances of tile passibility settings.
  • Fixed a bug where Cole was given a blank item in Morgan's Shed.
  • Fixed a bug where the Penthouse Suite's double doors weren't closing properly.
  • Fixed a bug where you could unlock locked objects with 0 lockpicks.
  • Fixed autosaving, sometimes would not work.
  • Fixed a GUI bug where the game would crash.
  • Fixed a bug where the compass wouldn't direct you to the door of the hotel when you first get to Hell City.
  • Fixed a bug where the mission "Working The Bench" wouldn't update properly in the mission log.
  • Fixed a bug where a searchable vehicle in front of the Old Hospital wouldn't change to the correct graphic after being searched.
  • Fixed a bug where it didn't update Darren's picture in data when the player fails to save him.
  • Fixed a bug when players would exit through the elevator and the doors would be closed.
  • Fixed a major bug with the compass where it wouldn't display your destination correctly.

Updates




  • Added new Gas Mask Steam Achievements to the game.
  • Added new weak mob type "Rat".
  • Updated steam achievement images for some of the different tiers.
  • Adjusted the title screen graphics to show the colours better.
  • Some minor performance updates.
  • Added optional advanced combat tutorial that the player can choose not to do and just add to their library instead. Please note: The basic tutorial for combat is still required to pass.
  • Added new dialogue sub system which allows the player to barter with NPC's for the amount of reward money they will receive after they complete their mission. The barter will trigger if Cole doesn't agree on an amount suggested by an NPC. (Will show the final agreed upon amount in the mission log.) This will be offered to the player for different select missions. throughout the game. There are a few things to note:
    1. An NPC will never accept a deal more than double their offer.
    2. The best way to get the most friendship points will always be to just accept their offer.
    3. The more closer to the max you try to get, the more likely you will lose friendship points instead.
  • Added the new hero dead pose that should now change Cole's sprite to show that he's died when it's game over.


Bug Fixes




  • Fixed a bug where Elena would let you pass without equipping your gun first.
  • Fixed a bug when the game was saved in the middle of a tutorial and the player decides to save the game and load their save file later. If they changed their method of play from either controller to keyboard or keyboard to controller the keys would not update in the tutorial.
  • Fixed a bug where enemies would avoid getting hit when firing the M16 upwards OR using the Machete upwards. (Fixed by Team Member Vladimir Skripnikov)

Corpse Mansion - Update Release 1.2.6

Hello, everyone. This is one of our major updates, with more achievements, more content, and more bug fixes. We apologise for the delayed update. You have no idea how hard and frustrating it was for my team to implement gas mask versions of ALL of Cole's weapon animations in the game. Thankfully, I managed to programme a plugin that makes it work. You will now be able to obtain the new special item, the gas mask, to help you traverse the irradiated streets of Hell City.

In addition to being required to further the main quest line, the gas mask will also be a tool to get to other hidden areas that will later be added to the game.

As to where we are in the storyline, because there have been a lot of people very eager to continue on with the story. Which is fine. I am glad people enjoy the story, but it's no fun when it's incomplete and you get to a certain area expecting more. The content, in terms of the storyline, ends with the conclusion of chapter 2. This consists of you restoring power to the hotel and confirming it with Evan. Chapter 3 is now currently being developed. The chapter title still has not been decided, so right now you will not be given the mission. (This will hopefully clear things up for everyone.)

Updates



  • Several new Steam achievements have been added to the game.

  • Added all the new Gas Mask version graphics of Cole to the game folder to prepare for gas mask integration.

  • Preloaded all of Cole's animations for Normal Cole and Gas Mask Version Cole to help with smoother gameplay.

  • To unclog the notifications system, we removed unnecessary notifications for when you get achievements through Steam.

  • Added new sound effect for when successfully creating ammo.

  • Added the "Working the Bench" extra mission to help inform players of the possibilities of gunsmithing.

  • For the new mob type dubbed "Infected Prisoner," there were some balancing issues. We hope to have corrected these by adjusting the enemy speed and ATK delay. We have also added new drop mechanics that are specific to this mob. In particular, when you're playing the game on survival and hardcore, this mob will have a chance at dropping a machete. (A rare melee weapon, otherwise hard to find in the game.)

  • Added a unique explosion animation effect to Incendiary Grenades.

  • Add a bunch of containers to the first safehouse in Hell City that you will own. These containers can be used to store items in order to make room in the inventory.

  • I added a small flashback cutscene to the game of Elena and her father.

  • Several new blueprints and gun parts have been added and can be found by the player right now in the current build!

  • Chapter 2 can now be concluded. Chapter 3 is now in development, so we will refrain from giving you the mission in your mission log for now until Chapter 3 is finished. We thank you for your continued patience.

  • We have added some new side missions for the players to complete.

  • The first safehouse can now be accessed by completing the "Unwanted Guests" side mission. Make sure to report it to Evan to get the new key card to get into your first fully owned safehouse, where you will have about 15 different containers to store your items in, along with a workbench to customise your guns. Survival and hardcore players can now save here any time they want.



Bug Fixes



  • Fixed a bug where the game displayed Cole's name instead of Elena's at "The Grand Marinette".

  • Fixed a major bug where Cole's transparency remained transparent at the beginning of the game.

  • Fixed some bugs where vehicle drops would play the wrong sound effect.

  • Hotkey weapon duplication glitch has been fixed.

  • Fixed a minor passibility issue, where the player could get up a cliff that requires a rope to get up for free.

  • The Machete's graphical alignment issues have been resolved.

  • Fixed various long-range weapons' bullet alignments.

  • Fixed a bug where a dialogue choice to satisfy the "working the bench" quest didn't show up as green text.

  • Corrected a major bug in which Cole would lose item(s) when his inventory was completely full and when attempting to swap out items from the hotkey bar.(This can potentially cause a lot of problems when you lose mission-critical items.)

  • Fixed graphical alignment issues with the M16's firing animation effect.

  • Fixed a bug where you would lose items when a container was full while trying to deposit them. It now disallows you from doing this.

  • Fixed a bug in which you could potentially lose item(s) when attempting to withdraw from a container with an empty inventory.

  • Fixed a bug in which you could buy items even if you didn't have any space in your inventory.

  • Many graphical errors with elevator doors at The Grand Marinette have been corrected.



For a limited time, you will now get a special bonus reward based on your chosen difficulty when you get to your first safehouse in Hell City. This is exclusive to early access supporters!

Corpse Mansion - Update Release 1.1.6

Hey everyone. I have held back on this update for a week now because I just did not think it was worth enough to push a regular update. We're supposed to add more new chapter content to the game for this update, but unfortunately, due to unforeseen events, we had to fix many bugs to protect the integrity of the game. Nevertheless, we have a solid update with many bug fixes and updates for our players to explore. We thank you for your continued patience. 

Updates




  • Performance improvements for calling Steam Achievements.
  • Optimizations for lower-end computers to improve performance.
  • Tutorial Optimizations to help players grasp the game's mechanics better in a more intuitive way.
  • If the player decides to put the HPD scanner in Morgan's Locker, data in the main menu is locked again, just like it was before you had the scanner, until the player picks up the HPD Scanner again.
  • Added more available gun parts to the very first gun store available to the player in Hell City.
  • The game will no longer stop gameplay to tell you that a door, car, or anything is locked. It now displays at the top of the screen like the hints do instead. (This is untested in Hell City yet, and we still have to decorate the city with abandoned vehicles.)
  • You can now have a stamina shot boost effect, a health shot boost effect, and a survivor timer all at the same time on the game screen. Before, it caused many bugs, so I had to write a new plugin to fix it.
  • Fixed some friendship points not being granted to the player properly. Unfortunately, this requires you to restart the game. If for some reason you can't do this, please email support@corpsemansion.com and one of our representatives will provide an alternate route for you to keep your save file. (often the same day or next.) We've also been known to push small updates for players when the gameplay experience is compromised because of a game bug or something. So just let us know, and most importantly, we hope you enjoy the game and please stay tuned for our content update next week.


Bug Fixes




  • Fixed a bug where you couldn't shoot zombies that were directly up against vehicles.
  • Some tile set pass-ability settings have been fixed.
  • Fixed a bug where Cole doesn't pick up the drop right away after cutting some grass.
  • Fixed a bug where when your inventory is at its max limit and you try to move an item from the hotkey bar to the item bag, you will lose the item.
  • Fixed a bug where if the player clicks the inventory bag while trying to "Move" or "Swap" an item on the hotkey bar, it would then take you to the item command menu in the item bag. (Now it does not allow you to do this until you finish your action on the hotkey bar first.)
  • Fixed a bug where some gun parts were not recognised as possible upgrades to the gun in question. (This also may require a game restart, and unfortunately, for this, we cannot provide an alternate route to keep your old save file.) As the game is still in its early chapters, we hope you can understand. We have much more planned for the game as a whole.

Corpse Mansion - Update Release 1.1.5

Hello, I would like to start by thanking everyone who leaves feedback or a review for us because we take your opinions very seriously and have no problems fixing bugs or listening to feedback. This will officially be the first weekly regular update since launching the game in Early Access, so that's pretty exciting. No new chapter stuff this week unfortunately. There was a lot of fixes that needed to be done. Content update will be next week. We thank you all for your continued patience and understanding.


Updates



  • Changed drops for Police type Zombies. They no longer drop herbs but gunpowder instead.
  • Changed drops for Fireman type Zombies. They no longer drop herbs but aluminum instead.
  • Corpse Mansion will now recognize what you're using to play the game with. Whether its the controller or keyboard on a load file. (For the best results please connect before you load your game.)
  • Added new Gun Part "Compensators" to the item database.
  • Finished setting all Sound effects in the database. (Now all weapons and items in the game should have a unique sound played when moving, dropping, selling an item ect).
  • Changed door in "Entrance to Clarksetown Harbour" from requiring a silver key to a lock pick kit instead.

  • Fixed action window alignment issues in the inventory, container and shop scenes.
  • Fixed tutorial question mark reappearing after the player has already acquired it.
  • Fixed Gasoline Bug where it would not allow you to collect the last container.
