IMPORTANT Emergency Patch - 0.622-!
Effective immediately I'm releasing an emergency patch that solves the Food Processor UI failure which consists in farmers not being able of loading new food into the Food Processor.
The issue was isolated with help of one of our community members and determined to be a discrepancy between the Food Processors internal library and the updated Food Library which handles all the fruits, veggies and cereals.
The Food Library was updated two patches ago to introduce new vegetables and fruits, and due to the sensitive nature of this Library (which is used to identify food correctly in a ' procedimental' manner) it has to be updated also in all the applications that carry it (imagine a new word was invented but it wasn't included on the dictionary;thus you are unable to understand what it means).
It has been solved now, but in case any trouble persists, please don't hesitate to reach out to me on the forums or either in corral's or my social media accounts: Twitter or Instagram.
Please make sure your client is updated to version 0.622!

Update 0.62 - The Deed #2 Update-
Howdy fellow ranchers! I've been working heavily on refining some aspects of the game I feel I let slip by. As some of you noticed, last week a new and more capable water pump was introduced to satisfy your agricultural needs.
This week's update deals with a couple of bugs that were hiding in plain sight and a little content addition, you can now expand your corral further with the Deed #2 and I've prepared the framework for a UI clock and Structure Manipulation (this means moving structures, yay).
Patch Notes:
-Minor Bug Fixing.
-Aesthetic Improvements.
-Industrial Gas Generator is now available.
- Property Deed #2 is now available in the Old' Reliable's store.
-Groundwork for UI Clock and Structure Manipulation.

Update 0.6 (The Nutrition Update) is now Live!
Howdy fellow farmers! Enter Update 0.6.
The Nutrition Update , as i’ve been teasing these past days, introduces a food system that allows you to grow Vegetables, Fruits and Grains and mix them up to make food for your chickens.
The two most noticeable changes will be that both the Barn Tab in the Corral Tabs section of the screen and the Nutrition Tab inside the Farmer’s Digest are now accessible to you.
-The Barn Tab is basically your inventory, where you will stash all Fruits, Veggies and Grains that grow in your corral.
-The Nutrition Tab will allow you to buy all you need to manufacture food: plants, seeded pots, paddies, vines, extra nutrients and vitamins. You name it.
-Food Processors are available in the Farmer’s Digest Construction Tab, these will allow you to mix all your crops into nutritious pellets.
Right now I’m introducing 2 kinds of crops: Pitaya and Rice, 1 type of food processor: DIY Processor and added the Manual Water Extractor to the Farmer’s Welcome package.
Tomorrow in a follow up patch I’ll be introducing 3 kinds of crops: Tomato, Wheat and Carrot; 3 types of Extra Nutrients: Protein, Vitamin and Zinc, as well as a Small Water Pump which will extract water automatically only using energy. This is order to receive player feedback and make any pertinent changes before delivering the bulk of content. I want to know what you guys and gals think.
Patch Notes:
Update 0.6 -Nutrition System Implemented.
-Rice Paddy and Manual Water Extractor added to the Welcome Package.
-2 New Crops: Pitaya and Rice.
-DIY Food Processor Implemented.
-Barn Inventory Tab Enabled.
-Farmer’s Digest Nutrition Tab Enabled.
-UI Improvements.
-Minor Bug Fixes.

Update 0.6 Launch Postponed to June the 3rd at 15:00h(CDT)
As most of you guys and gals know Update 0.6 is upon us, this update has an important addition to the game content.
I'm talking about the Nutrition System, this gameplay addition will allow you to grow Fruits, Veggies and Grains and mix them up to make food for your chickens. It is a quite promising enhancement to the game.
In order to implement it several major systems had to be modified and a lot of content (both under and over the hood) has been added to the game. Therefore there is a lot to test and review on the Quality Control part of the development.
Today I took the decision to postpone the Update release date by 24 hours. This, in order to allow for further testing and clearance of critical systems. I think this will let me deliver the best possible content to you my fellow farmers.
Time Conversions
CDT - 15:00
BST - 4:00
PDT - 20:00
Delaying the update even for 10 minutes was the last thing I wanted to do, but I discussed it with both the Asset Development Director (which is me) and the Creative Director (also me) and we decided it was the better choice.
See you tomorrow!
State of the Corral [The Great Rooster Bubble]
Jolly fellow ranchers! As of now a whole month has passed from the Early Access Release and we’ve come already a long way together. Our community keeps growing and Corral keeps getting better and better, I couldn’t have made it possible without you guys and gals!
Today I’ll be talking about what I’ve called The Great Rooster Bubble and the steps I’ve taken to solve it. .
A few days ago I started to notice reports about corral stagnation became much more common, usually inquiries about the brood’s growth had simple answers like some minor bug or a minor adjustment to the mating rates for chickens, even to the chicks growing rate. But this time, as the playerbase started to multiply so did the mysterious cases of corral stagnation. Initially I was under the impression that it could be a major undetected bug but thorough revisions and hours of playtesting proved me wrong, practically, there was nothing out of place. It would seem that this was somehow something that players could see, but not me.
Turns out the error was way up the chain, not with the code, not with the engine, not even with integration but with the design. Thanks to a close friend’s commentary and a forum post from an engaged community member, the pieces started coming together. The issue was rooted in the players being unable to differentiate between roosters and hens and in consequence, selling the roosters as produce. Removing all roosters from the corral, without any 2nd generation chicks with the possibility of turning into roosters themselves, players would be effectively stagnating their corral irreversibly as roosters couldn’t be bought from the Farmer’s Digest and 1st generation chicks from store bought hens cannot become roosters.
I was blindsided by the issue; according to myself, roosters, which have a long curved tail, are easily distinguished from hens which don’t. Well... Turns out it isn’t true, roosters were being misidentified for another breed of chicken because there was not a single additional indication that these long tailed chickens were males, they weren’t even called roosters in-game. It wasn’t obvious for anyone but me. This was a textbook case of developer tunnel-vision, where I forgot to evaluate the feature from the player’s perspective.
Having realized this, I scrambled to provide an immediate solution to this issue. As of last Friday a patch was released that named chickens natively by their sex. And with today’s update players can acquire whenever they want a White Leghorn rooster via the Farmer’s Digest (the purchase of pure breed roosters was not allowed due to it being a future feature related with the chicken pageant system). This measures will prevent corral stagnation from ever happening again.
I want to thank the community members that signaled me to this issue and contributed to the fix. It couldn’t have been fixed so quickly without you. This is the perfect example of why Corral is perfect for Early Access, it can only grow to its fullest potential with help from its amazing community.
