Dev-Blog #1: release date, C.Q.C. news and updates, current issues & what i am working on

Hello folks,

welcome to my first ever dev-blog post!
From now on you will see these kinds of blog posts once a week to keep you up to date about the current development process and to get an overview about what's going on in general with C.Q.C.

Now lets get straight into the topics:

Release Date

I think this is the most important topic for those of you who can't wait to play the game. I am currently planning the Early Access release for late December or early January. There is still a lot of work to do until then, but I am confident to reach this goal. I will keep you updated on that topic each week to let you know if I am still on track.

C.Q.C. news and updates

I am currently quite active on twitter, so make sure to follow me there if you want to have short status updates and news on a more frequently basis. My Twitter name is @PlayReckless

As mentioned above I will also post a weekly status update here on steam to wrap-up everything which has been done during the week and to give you an update about the upcoming week.

From now on I will also have a close look at the Communityhub each day in case you guys have any questions, feedback, concerns or just want to have a chat :-)

Current tasks for CW48

HUD improvements
The basic UI is implemented and works fine but it still looks a bit rough. I'm currently polishing the icons and improve how specific elements are shown to achieve a cleaner look. Here you see how the current UI looks like in PvP mode:

Bug fixing
For the upcoming week we planned several play tests to spot more and more bugs. After each play test I will start a bug fixing marathon to get rid of all the bugs we can find in order to prepare a smooth Early Access release. But I am almost sure that you guys will still find bugs after release ;-)

Tasks for CW49

For calendar week 49 we are planning following implementations:

  • smooth loading transitions
  • weapon attachments for higher level weapons
  • more graphic options

Note that all to-dos are subject to change during the development process. Means: when we find a major bug we will work on that until we can get rid of it. Currently we aim for a bug free game for Early Access release, means the features are second priority. We won't achieve that I know but it is always good having an ambitious goal.
