Craft Keep VR

Small update for Craft Keep

Hey crafters!

After some initial feedback on the community forums we added a new way to teleport around for those who dont have enough space, that had you hold down on the right hand touchpad and target a zone you wanted to go to. Still it was not perfect. So now we have 2-3 ways of teleporting around, hopefully everyone will find the best fit for them and is as comfortable as possible! I will describe those ways in this announcement. A recipe clipboard is added, has some recipes for enchant gem charges and other fun stuff!

By the way! All these photos were taken ingame with out own Craft Keep photo camera! Try it out in Free Mode, any pictures you take get saved into the Photos folder of the Data folder.

Variation 1: Teleport via arc menu

Touching the touchpad on the left hand (With the watch) will bring up a small menu with 3 choices, each choice is represented in the world where you can teleport to, so items and features are closer to your space.

Variation 2: Teleport by targeting

Pressing down the touchpad on the right hand will reveal a laser pointer which will be red or green depending where you target it. Target it at any of the zone representations and it will go green, release it and you will be teleported to that point.

Variation 3: Teleport via ground target

We included a specific space where if you target the ground with the pointer by pressing down the right hand touchpad, visual representation where your center of the room will be if you release the touchpad, keep in mind that you can not go traveling from your workbench and this works only in the inside area of the workbench space.

Hope these changes make your life as a crafter so much more comfortable! Keep with the feedback and let's make this game as best as possible! Chapter 2 work will begin Monday - Tuesday. I have to move during 15-20 of November, so updates on those days might be slower as I wont have the VR kit ready for testing at a moments notice, but it is only a small time bump, and I am making sure the community - you guys know up front.

As always - Stay tuned!

Craft Keep VR Now Live!

Hello everyone,

Today has been a very interesting learning experience! We’ve come across some launch issues for Craft Keep which we detailed in an earlier post but finally everything seems to be back in order and the game is now available for everyone!

We hope that you all enjoy the current build of Craft Keep VR and plan to support the game for several months with new features and improvements.

First, we’d like to share a play through from Shoppe Keep veteran Draegast!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5rU3tVQv-0

There are a lot of things that we learnt form this video and it has given the team some thoughts on how to improve the game further. In fact, we have made a couple of changes already based on this video

If you have any suggestions or would like to share any bugs, give us a shout in the forums and we’ll do everything we can.

Additionally we took some time to create a couple of special tutorial videos that teach the core mechanics of crafting and alchemy.

First up is a small tutorial on how to make a potion! There are more complicated brews in Craft keep, but this is a very good starting point.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM98nK1FfWE

Next up is the Sword tutorial! We have over 1200 swords in the game by my last count (And probably even more added since then). We wanted to show the core methods used to create a sword from ore, repair broken blades and attach them to a hilt.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jcr9PTHzCdk

And that’s it for today! Please do keep talking with usin the forums , we really want to make a fun game in VR and have several chapters planned.

Craft Keep VR Now Live!

Hello everyone! Today is the release of Craft Keep VR in Early Access!

We’ve had a lot of fun developing the game for virtual reality and I hope that many of you enjoy the game as it continues to grow and develop over the coming months.

While we are going to be working very hard on the game, there will be a period between the 15th and 22nd of November where they may be a slight slowdown. This is because the developer Arvydas will be moving house during this period. But once he gets set back in, he will work like a maniac on new updates and progressing towards chapter 2 of Craft Keep.

First, Shoppe Keep veteran Draegast had an opportunity to play an advanced copy of Craft Keep VR. You can check out his video in full below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5rU3tVQv-0&t

We watched the video and it has really helped us learn a little more about how players may step into the game, so some changes and additions have been made to improve it further. One of which, was that the time it takes for heating blades has been decreased. Of course, if you have any suggestions to improve the game and its usability, we’ll be in the forums answering posts so make sure to say hi!

We created a couple of new videos ourselves that detail some of the crafting systems in their most simplest form. You can enchant weaponry too, but we’ll let you discover that yourself.

First up is the video which tells players how to make a basic health potion using the cauldron.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM98nK1FfWE

And secondly, we go through the steps required to make a sword and even tell you how to fix damaged blades!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jcr9PTHzCdk

If you come across any suggestions or issues, give us a shout and we will do our best to assist and answer!

Thank you for everyone who will help us make this game!

Craft Keep VR PSA! There May Be A Slight Delay In The Game Going For Sale

Hello everyone!

At the time of writing, Craft Keep will be expected to go live and on sale within the next 5 - 10 minutes.

Unfortunately, the Steam partner site seems to be down and we are awaiting for the site to get back up and running so we can hit the big green release button! Sorry about that! it appears to be a global issue that hopefully will be fixed soon

https://twitter.com/CleveChris/status/797116887494758400

I hope that we can release the game to you all very soon. Unfortunately this is out of our hands and I've contacted Steam to see if there's anything we can do to get the game released.

Please do keep checking back, add the game to your wishlist and if possible share this post so people can see this announcement. I have another announcement queued up to go which has some new gameplay videos too, so please stay tuned!

All the best,
Chris

Press Keys Sent Out And The Custom Skin Viewer Is Now Available!

Hello Everyone!

Craft Keep VR is less than a week away from launching! We have some very interesting news to share on the development.

First, you should hopefully expect to see some coverage and videos over the next few days as we are sending out press keys to journalists and YouTubers. We hope that many of them will have a lot of fun playing the game. We will share a few over the next week via announcements.

if you are a press or YouTuber and would like to cover the game, please email us at press@excalibur-publishing.com with your details.

There have been a lot of positive changes and new additions that have not yet been shown in any of the trailers or screenshots on the Steam Page.

Additionally, we have created a unique app that allows you to create your own custom skin in game! This app will be included as part of the Steam package and will be a selectable option when you launch the game.

However, those who want to start creating skins now can access this app straight away by clicking the link below:

Custom Skin Viewer

We are looking forward to seeing an assortment of different skins from players, so make sure to share them with us. Unfortunately I am not an artist myself, but even I managed to create a Mummy skin which you can check out below:

We may expand this Skin creator more over time, let us know your thoughts on it.

Not long now until release, so make sure to add Craft Keep VR to your wish list and get involved in the forums!
