Crawl
Crawl Halloween
From October 17 to November 2, the halls are strewn with bat-filled pumpkin husks, arranged as offering to the great Halloween Worms of Pestilence and Horror.
To prepare, we finally reveal the ancient rite used to POWER UP BOSSES TO NIGHTMARE DIFFICULTY:
Upon teleporting to any boss domain, you find your landing spot encircled by small stones.
Using the attack button, action each stone individually, moving clockwise from left to right.
You know the action is accepted if the button does not trigger an attack.
You will see the beast's power level increase if you have performed the ritual correctly, along with a floating follower.
Perform the ritual twice to further increase your chance to be slaughtered.
Have you grown over-confident? Time to raise the challenge. The beasts are hungry.
You will be consumed.
More Multiplayer Fun from Powerhoof!
Apologies for the cheeky cross promo, but we've just released our new game Regular Human Basketball!
If you were into playing Crawl with mates, we hope you'll love this too. It's a very different style, but we've tried to maintain the same friendship ruining experience as Crawl :D
Regular Human Basketball is the multiplayer party-starter that has your team wrestling to control your giant mechanical death machine. Yelling orders, flipping switches, and shootin' hoops in a post-apocalyptic basketball showdown!
You can play RHBB with 2 or more players, same-screen local like crawl and online too. The more players, the more shouting and falling over!
Play Crawl Online using Parsec
We'd always hoped to allow online play in Crawl. I spent a good chunk of time working on it, but eventually had to admit it wasn't going to be possible while maintaining what narrow grasp on sanity we still held.
But recently we noticed some people in the community playing online using something called Parsec. We've played a bunch with it ourselves now and had a great time, so we're happy to be able to give it the Official Powerhoof™ Severed Thumbs Up of Approval®!
Parsec basically lets you stream a game, and have friends watch and play along with their own controllers. Latency was my biggest worry, but it wasn't a problem when we played, certainly no worse than our dodgy indie implementation of online multiplayer would have been ;)
The ancient golden colossus Tezekcal has awoken, brought to life by an evil shaman’s still beating heart. Take possession of his limbs with your ghostly companions to crush intruding heroes into dust.
Demonic scorpion queen with devastating projectile attacks.
A flying beast with a disembodied eye that can attack from the opposite side of the room.
A poison spitting snake.
A Powerful high priestess that teleports and summons seeking runes.
Hymns enable heroes to steal from other players. Take their gold, weapons, even swap all their equipment.
Achievements/Quests.
Steam trading cards.
Loads of tweaks, balancing, bug fixes, and more!
The official soundtrack is finally available as well. Get it here!
Enjoy!
